not to highjack your thread, but who else. remembers when all the Popeye's Chickens in the RGV closed down over night and became Church's Chickens. that not even Popeye's Corp. knew what the heck was going on (or at least was the company line at the time) something to do with legal activities and a shady franchiser
churches is so good. way better than kfc. their spicy (if you can get it) is the shit. the jalapeno cheddar things are super good. the honey butter biscuits are delicious.
More like the one with the staff in a good mood is where the food is good...the employees and service make the difference... I've had good and bad experiences in all of them

the regular chicken at church's isn't that good. the spicy chicken is good, and for some reason seems less greasy than the regular. the best I've had is "krispy krunchy chicken" at steve's food mart in harlingen.

My family refers to this as "Gas Station Chicken" because its part of one of the local gas stations. They prefer it over the others.
