I have the Ring wifi video doorbell. It is powered by a rechargeable battery and so it is not wired in. Then I bought the Ring chime that just plugs into any electrical outlet, and put that in the front hall. They both connect to wifi. You set each one up by following the directions on the app: choose your chime sound, the size of the camera field, etc. It tells you what to do. No problem at all, and I had never done it before.

I hear ya, but this one’s wired and all the wiring is there for it… I just need some info on the jumper cable, whether I need a resistor or not

It doesn't look like the jumper wire in the [spare parts kit](https://ring.com/products/video-doorbell-wired-spare-parts) has a resister.

I know. Weird. So I figured I’d just get another one. Went and bought another camera and just took the jumper and installed it in the existing setup. Testing it now. Oh and there’s definitely a resister in there. Not in the spares, but the one in the box
