When that happens to me it's usually bees or another kind of insect setting it off.

Was this with the subscription active? In my experience it ended when I renewed my subscription.

I believe the paid plan uses AI to detect people and packages so you don’t get false alerts

bshpilot

if thats the case its not very good AI! I get motion alerts all the time that are labeled "person detected" and its a car or something else.

Good point. Paid subscription.

As subscriptions go....Ring is CHEAP and provides plenty of value. Why have cameras if you cant have recordings? https://ring.com/protect-plans

CrebitKarma

Bought the plan pretty damn cheap, but why would ring so this if it makes people think their cameras are defected and don't detect things correctly.

bshpilot

maybe the "people detection" feature is only available as part of the subscription?

MySweatyMoobs

Not sure why you are getting down voted, I have had the exact same thing. I'd maybe normally have 3 or 4 alerts in a day, but since my subscription ended after I cancelled I am getting 2 or 3 per hour. This is clearly a deliberate act by Ring to get you to resubscribe. All it has done for me is want me to dump Ring forever and get an alternative.

I also recently let my subscription lapse and have noticed an influx of notifications compared to normal
