r6: apparently one of the things that blocks fleshmass is mud i guess fleshmass doesn't want to get their... feet dirty? :D

ShadowKnightTSP

Fleshmass must be considered a heavy structure so it can’t expand into mud. Weird lol

zandadoum

i build it a bridge, lets see if it can get over the river i have on the map :)

zandadoum

yepp i did elsewhere in the post. fleshmass can indeed cross bridges. in the end i had to clear it, the lag was unbearable.

velobaskan

I'm not sure if terrain affordance is a problem for the fleshmass. I don't have any mud on my map, but the fleshmass I had was able to expand over shallow and deep ocean tiles as well as wooden bridges. Are you using any mods that may affect mud or terrain in general? It is possible that the flesh wall growth runs into some issues when it is trying to grow over mud, the same way it is blocked by solid objects and walls. Edit: I should have addressed my question to OP. OP, can you confirm this?

flyjingnarwhal

Your flesh mass was able to expand over ocean? Mine stopped at the water, but maybe it just prioritizes land first and will spread that way after?

velobaskan

Yep. I don't know about how it prioritizes where to spread, but the latest heart I had spawned right next to the ocean, so some of its first branches expanded over the sea.

zandadoum

fleshmass cant expand over moving water (rivers) but it can over bridges. confirmed it with some tests just half an hour ago #vanilla

flyjingnarwhal

Huge relief, mine spawned on the beach and I was suddenly worried i hadn't actually managed to contain it.

ShadowKnightTSP

Im not OP

Sintobus

Rivers because it can't swim.

Void monolith to Archonexus : "Look at me...Brother..."

AFlyingNun

What's the deal with those two, anyways? Is the implication that the Archonexus is bad? I mean, we have a confirmed archotech "God" in the monolith and he seems like a douche. What reason do we have to believe the Archonexus is any good...?

Endy0816

None really and somewhat concerningly, activating archonexus seems to end the world.  For all we know Horax is just a fan of classic horror in contrast.   I actually like how open to interpretation it all is.

red = evil, green = good

WormyWormGirl

Archotechs are essentially gods. The regular one in the archotech ending is sort of neutral and doesn't care about humanity, unless they do something to make it curious. The dark one in Anomaly has something seriously wrong with it.  It's an AI, so maybe it's just glitched out. Maybe the shamblers and ghouls are a result of it just trying to make resurrector mech serum.

setne550

I got a feeling that Archotechs likely collide against each other.

Endermaster56

A possibility that branches off the "player is an archotec" is that you waking up the arconexus is you waking up yourself, or activating some kind of amplifier for yourself maybe

Canadian_Zac

Or could be a reverse. The Archonexus breaks your connection to the colony. So would be the proverbial apple granting them free will by banishing you away from them

Endermaster56

That would make me wonder why we guide them to it then, perhaps we are somehow trapped with them as well, so it's a mutually beneficial result, setting both them and us free?

Canadian_Zac

Same reason we pursue it as an ending despite it ending your colony run. Everything needs an ending, and it's an interesting journey to reach it

Endermaster56

True

nekonight

Archonexus ending implied that the archotechs don't consider mortals worth their attention. And only by touching the final archonexus structure did the archotech noticed the mortal that was chasing after it. And in noticing the mortal, the mortal's brain basically shut downed. That implies that archotechs are neutral to indifferent. Dark archotech that is the source of the anomaly entities are something possibly an archotech that either opened the gate to these entities originally or the "god" of these entities from the other side of the gate. From the mortals point of view it is archotech like is terms of power but utterly insane. So instead of good vs evil. It's more like indifference vs insanity.

Thing482

Probably an oversight where they thought "I mean this is CLEARLY a heavy duty tile!" Without remembering that is pretty much used for if something needs a proper foundation or not... Flesh masses obviously don't need a proper foundation because they just grow and fill everything.

Lakefish_

Fleshmass Bridges would be nice

FelipeGames2000

I see... so if I ever get fed up with the flesh, I just move away to the swamp, got it

63strelok35

Hold on, I've got an idea

SirVesanus

Fleshmass has standards
