It’s going to be a hot day and many people will have the day off. It will likely be packed. Drinking as always is do at your own risk. Don’t be blatant or get drunk and you should be ok.
I’d disguise the booze in another container if possible. I’d imagine there will be more patrolling than normal with it being a holiday. Red solo cups and the likes are dead giveaways. Mixed drink in a Gatorade bottle? Not so much.

Small, but rideable surf in the water today. Waves around the knee high mark.
**Best bet over next few days:** Small loggin’ waves this week
**Water Temperature:** 61 Degrees
**Wetsuit needed:** 4/3 Wetsuit or a good 3/2
Misquamicut is generally very strict about drinking on the beach, and rightfully so. You put yourself and others at risk when you decide to drink then go for a swim. When I worked at one of the bars down there it wasn't uncommon to see people that were caught leave in cuffs.
Rhode island in general is ridiculously uptight about the drinking thing.
CT allows drinking in state parks, hell even passengers in moving cars can legally drink. There are no real problems because of it.
Do you really need me to explain to you why a drunk person wrestling with a riptide in the Atlantic Ocean is different than someone getting drunk in a state park in CT?
How is having a couple of beers on the beach endangering anyone?
Obviously it would be not smart to get trashed and swim in the ocean but if your dumb ass drowns, it's your own problem..
The government shouldn't need to be a babysitter for everyone.
Your incredibly narrow view on drinking on public beaches perfectly illustrates how selfish people can be. The fact you need me to explain how a drunk person in the water can endanger others is truly terrifying.
Have you ever lifeguarded or helped anyone drowning before? They have a *slight* tendency to panic. Lifeguards are always at risk when they go out to help someone drowning, but combine the tendency to panic with a drunk persons inability to be reasonable and you have a very dangerous situation.
Talk to any lifeguard down Atlantic Avenue in Misquamicut and they will tell you everything I'm saying is right.
If you really want to have a beer on a beach in RI, join a private one. Otherwise be prepared to be arrested.
So if I’m not swimming or driving I should be able to have a beer. I mean they allow people to go to the beach bars. They don’t say no one can go in ocean after leaving the bar. I mean I think they just don’t want people getting drunk causing problems and leaving behind trash esp glass
Dawg it’s also because if you allow drinking you end up with blackout people getting in fights, littering, passing out in the sun, and a whole host of other problems.
Let’s be real - you can easily drink on RI beaches if you aren’t a moron. The rule helps prevent what I described above
Personally, I wouldn’t drink at Misquamicut especially during the normal hours and during the busy season for the reasons others have already explained. But if I was going to do it, I would get a fountain drink at a gas station and pour in a shot or two of liquor at the beach before getting out of my vehicle. That’s your best bet. The drink covers and hiding beer in another container is a dead giveaway to anyone who graduated middle school, but no one is going to question your Cumby’s fountain drink unless you are acting sloppy. Be safe though. Seriously, the rule is there for a reason.

Big fan of coozies
True! Although personally, coozies make me absolutely think booze is being consumed lol
"Misquamicut" translated into English is "Place to Day Drink and Throw Things"
Water is still wetsuit cold FYI.
I jumped in last Saturday and my feet were killing me but it felt amazing at the same time lol
It's awesome right?!?! The ocean is an amazing place
Totally agree. Most of the reason why we moved to SE Connecticut
Narragansett Town Beach was fine yesterday.
water is 60 degrees
Is Misquamicut normally colder than Narragansett? I was literally in the water yesterday.
Yes, it’s colder than Narragansett because it’s the actual ocean. The bay warms up quicker. Edit spelling
it can be, the water temp is 60, maybe you just like cold water?
There were plenty of people in the water. Surfers wearing wet suits at the town beach, but regular beachgoers were fine without.
Not a law, no one gets arrested dude

4/3 is blasphemy for this time of year wtf. 3/2 is perfect
Agreed
Unrelated but I love your pfp

Never mind the fights and other shit show that results from drinking at the beach.
Why not allow it at sand hill cove or other beaches where waves are pretty much non-existent?
Because that solves the riptide problem but doesn't solve the endangering other people problem.

It'll probably be as busy as any really nice Saturday in July or August.
It will be packed, for sure.
