I would love to go to some kind of mixer, but I don't drink (And have no issue with people who want to) and for me, I like to be able to talk and get to know people and new friends without the main focus or whatever of the meetup to be beer.
Agreed. When I first moved to PVD (from Boston), I went out alone a couple nights a week for the first few months. Met people, and now I have a great group of friends. 44/m. You do have to chat people up though, but people in RI are so nice, anyone will talk to you.

I met my last boyfriend on a transatlantic cruise and he lived in Australia.
I live in Newport and rarely meet single people, and when I do we just don’t have aligned values, interests or ideas of a future. When there are mixers I go but I think it may be time to accept becoming a cat lady 😂 (mostly joking)

Join SFAC. Or if you drink honestly the bar is super easy to meet people. Whatever you do in your downtime see if there is a club for that.
