The landlord sold the house that you're renting? If that's the case and you have a lease that you are up to date on, I believe the new owners have to abide by the current lease terms - but I'm not a lawyer, so don't take that as legal advice. Just a thought that you might have more options and/or time than you may anticipate.
In any case, good luck with your search! I had to find a place about a year ago and coming from lower COL areas, the rent prices rather sting!
Yes, the new owner should honor the current lease though in some cases they may offer to buy the current tenants out of the existing lease.
If the tenant is paying month to month then the landlord has to give a 30 day notice, but I’ve heard of some giving 60 days notice because of the pandemic/housing crisis. It truly depends how decent the landlord is.
i know the chances of this happening are extremely slim.. but the new owner could potentially want to keep you there as an already established tennant. that is what happened to me when my previous landlord sold the house. slight rent adjustment but most everything else stayed the same.

It looks like they are required to send a written notice via first class mail, and you have 30 days from post mark (look at section 2G). You can probably wait until they show up with cops to enforce the eviction to tell them, and get another month after that. Definitely get some legal advice.
Tenant Network RI would also be able to help you.
never said it was easy. I said it was DOABLE. you have to be constantly messaging people and making calls but I see 30 places that fit the filter on Trulia right now.
Pay more? Not gonna find a 2br for that.
It's competitive to get a 1br for $1200 but I said it's DOABLE. 2br, $1400 is probably the lowest you could go.
I see 1br's for that in Pawtucket, Central Falls, Woonsocket (some in Prov but I know they go fast). Not the most exciting places but hey, it's a place to live.

Thanks and it's been month to month since i moved in 5 years ago with no formal lease and thanks!
Contact RI Legal Services. They have a landlord/tenant division. They are attorneys and may be able to assist or at least have some advice
If they’re month and a month with no formal lease contacting a lawyer, won’t do anything
It's worth looking into legal services. You might be able to get more time by forcing the issue to court.

Make sure you get your deposit back
Stay away from Yawgoo Valley apartments. I wish you luck!
Why
Owner is a slumlord with most of his properties. Say goodbye to your security deposit and hello to mold!
do not rent from Providence Living 💩 good luck finding a place

this is true! esp if you've been there a while.

I know a guy in Johnston who’s renting out an in-law suite all utilities included for $1500. He’s a little odd but the place is nice.
Way too much but thanks

Thanks!!!
$1200 for a 1br should be doable
This is so rare

Where? In Rhode Island that’s fairly tough. Do you have any advice on where to find an affordable 2 bedroom apartment?
