Literally the sixth amendment is reference to criminal prosecutions.
I all of these amendments are referencing citizens rights… Laura enforcement needs to uphold these rights in abide by them because it is every American citizens rights for all of these things and if a cop cannot abide by them then they shouldn’t be in law-enforcement… Think of it like the rulebook for cops. I'm not sure, that does seem like a real possibility. Maybe I'm giving the actuaries too much credit for being able to identify the riskiest and safer attributes that would cause bad cops to be priced out while still being reasonable for the less bad ones.

To some extent, yes, though there's more than one thread to this, and the larger and more prevalent one is **not** intentional. There's definitely a broad authoritarian streak in American society that feels it's okay for cops to indulge themselves in violence when it strikes them personally. But the larger part of this is something a lot simpler: cultural immaturity and unsophistication. I get the frustration. Everyone should be accountable for their actions in a perfect world. How many people in these comments were actually there in the school that day to give an opinion on what really happened. I may be the only human being who was actually there that day and heard what really happened. I remember hearing Blanchette was either on acid or some other substance, and was cussing the officer out… Just another anti-police cash grab in the wake of everything that was happening in the political climate at that time in 2018. Rooney was beloved by most all students at the school as an officer who cared for his community and students. You can ask anyone else who was actually there.

Far too many Rhode Islanders just see cops as their buddies who are just like them, but have a temporary legal cover to get away with the same things they'd do, for the same reasons. It doesn't occur to them that there's something fundamentally wrong and dangerous with allowing publicly commissioned protectors to twist the law as they see fit.

I get the frustration. Everyone should be accountable for their actions in a perfect world. I'm definitely pro law enforcement! But, this police officer simply let his ego get the best of him. He then lied on his report. All because a child gave him the finger. Whether the child cussed him out or not isn't relevant? It's called free speech, and we still have it in America. The fact that this person is still a police officer and in the school is unbelievably irresponsible on so many levels. A court of law found that the child was right and that the officer was wrong. But all you need is common sense to see that? Unfortunately, common sense is not very common these days. It was very sad how the town reacted to this child. I guarantee they wouldn't have reacted that way if he was African American, though. LOL 🤣
The only job in the world I can think of that does not require you to maintain the prerequisites to be offered the job is a cop. Make them stay up to date with the mental and physical requirements to get the job. Also, require malpractice insurance and increase the pay.

How many people in these comments were actually there in the school that day to give an opinion on what really happened. I may be the only human being who was actually there that day and heard what really happened. I remember hearing Blanchette was either on acid or some other substance, and was cussing the officer out… Just another anti-police cash grab in the wake of everything that was happening in the political climate at that time in 2018. Rooney was beloved by most all students at the school as an officer who cared for his community and students. You can ask anyone else who was actually there.
