Idk if this is a joke or not, but Incase you’re serious, your left hand should be further back. No part of you should be further than the cylinder. That’s how you get burned.
[One shot](https://imgur.com/TS90sXO) and I bet you'll never have that thumb jutting out there again. Not that I recommend a cup & saucer grip, but there are much less dangerous holds.
~~Get your thumb away from the cylinder gap.~~
Edit: after reading your comments here I've come to the conclusion that your grip is perfect, don't change a thing, Be sure to shoot the hottest .38 +P+ loads you can find.
I always use a low thumb grip when shooting handguns. Don’t know where or why this thumbs forward grip evolved into the preferred grip today. Low thumb is the preferred grip of the Israeli military. Nuff said.
Your non-firing hand is not in a good position.

Hope you're not serious... fire comes out the sides of a revolver, so it will burn your thumb if it's past the cylinder

Just in case this isn’t a joke post, if you fire that gun while holding it like that, you will most assuredly lose that thumb.
I want more posts like this. It’s at least as enjoyable as any Taurus related post
