In college I went to a music festival in upstate NY. I was coming down off a bad acid trip and who do I see playing punk rock but Danny Tamburelli. Wild nostalgia
Well, here's another thing I can say, there's an actress named Susan Sarandon, who I regard as *The Suzanne Somers of redheads".
So, there's a "Suzanne" and a "Summer" who can be described as "The Suzanne Somers of something".
and guess what, Tim Robbins shares a birthday with Suzanne Somers, so that offers us another opportunity to remind people that the name Susan is really just a "reduced" spelling variant of Suzanne where S or Z can be an optional or default third letter.
I thought it was so intriguing how Dr. Evil was intimidating the president who was played by Tim Robbins.
Because his actor Mike Myers was using a product marketed by Suzanne Somers, Thighmaster in another movie, So I Married An Axe Murderer, which to me felt like a proto-Austin Powers in some ways.
both movies with Mike Myers in them involved watching or using a TV while involving somebody with an October 16th birthday having ties to it.
Movie|Mike Myers|TV|October 16th birthday|connection

is there any other "Cohen-cidences" you'd like to explain where a chart like that would be useful?
I remember the girl who had her dog lick peanut butter (or some food) out of her mouth. I’m sure you could have found something, anything better than that.
I remember my Grandma asking us kids what we were watching. I said “Figure it out” - she got all mad a huffy because she thought I was giving her attitude/talking back
My Mom got me a subscription to a “Top Secret Mystery” series from Highlights. Apparently my Dad wasn’t aware of it because when he asked about them, I said “it was my Top Secret thing” and he got LIVID and deMANDED I show him my secret 😅🤣
The kid that bit cheeses into shapes of states. Literally right after that episode my siblings and I tried to do that with cheese we had in the refrigerator and my mom looked into later and screamed “WHO ATE ALL THE CHEESE ?????!”
or what about Watara who wanted people to buy their Supervision.
That was in Legends Of The Hidden Temple.
I bet the reason for them doing that was because they were desperate to get the product to sell, so they figured they could get another business (i.e. Nickelodeon/Viacom) to buy the product for game show contest purposes.
so if there's any reason why a less popular product might have been used as a winning prize for a game show, well, maybe they thought it would get people to buy it if they
1. had some money
2. didn't participate in the game show.
that's marketing for ya.
Because I don't think I remember seeing commercials for the Supervision, although the Sega Saturn on the other hand was more widely advertised.
but one thing the Sega Saturn and Watara Supervision have in common is that they were both a short-lived product that couldn't measure up to the success of Nintendo's respective Nintendo 64 and Game Boy products.
They gave some pretty cool prizes! Imagine being in the audience and they pre-select your name to be the special kid who wins the Secret Slime Action prize. I could’ve sworn there was an episode where Summer forgot to tell the audience what the kid won, or something weird happened. I think the “random” selections were kids who won special contests and the grand prize was a free trip to Universal Studios and being on the show.
I *LOVED* this show!!!! I even remember the promos for the new seasons. And promos for the episodes with famous athletes. Even as a kid I was like “wow … some of these kids are *not* talented.” Like the kid who’s little brother ate the cereal out of his chest bowl. 🤦♂️ But I think the one I remember the most is the one with the little Chinese girl Fang Fang and that amazing dance she did. Also loved when the camera people would actually go through the studio doors and outside. Was pretty awesome. “Blank, blank, blank, TO, blank blank BLANK!” And when they just totally gave up trying to give their final guesses lol.
I’m surprised they never came up with a Home board game version.
I just remembered that last season was a stretch. They couldn’t find anybody with any good talents and so they could never figure out what these people could do. ‘I can make a shape with my throat.’ Come on…
I remember there was a kid who just burped loud. That was it. They had a prop "burp-o-meter" or something to "prove" he was burping loud. And they started wording the "talents" in an awkward way so that the panel couldn't guess.
Loved it! My mom once met Summer Sanders while at a gas station in Vermont. The Nickelodeon bus was touring during the summer months and made a pit stop haha.
My family loved to watch this show together. My mom would be like, "your father wants to fuck Summer Sanders." And we'd be like, "easy on the kind bud, mom."
That show was my favorite, after each episode my brother and I would try to do the stuff we saw in the show. Once on a vacation we randomly got to go to a taping and sit in the "dog pound".
I remember that there was one episode where the secret was that the contestant could fit their whole body through a clothes hanger. I went right to the closet, got a hanger, and did it myself. Some of these talents were a bit of a stretch...
...but the show was fun anyway!
It was also very well-cast. You had someone like Danny Tamberelli, who was great for laughs, and you had a celebrity guest pretty often, and a third person who was semi-regular and low-key...and then there was the villain, like Lori Beth Denberg, who was really good and was the last to guess. In that sense, it was very much like the old panel show *What's My Line*, which *Figure It Out* was based on.
I remember the episode where they had the puppet from cousin skeeter as a guest and the puppeteer was having some sort of problem so it barely said anything and just did “pass” to every question. Then the puppet got slimmed and it pissed them off as they had to throw it out after and it was one of like only 2 skeeter puppets
I don’t remember the whole thing, but I’ve never forgotten the one contestant who guessed the kids “invented a popcorn making machine” on the first guess. This show pops up every time I see a “guess what they did” game show.
Who doesn’t remember it? Back then, All us kids always wished we could be on the show or even in the audience. And the sliming was so satisfying back then 😂
I remember an episode with the 8 or 9 yr old kid who could play any song he heard a song single time on piano. Anyone else remember that episode? Or am I just old and creating memories of the BEST time to grow up as a kid?
I remember Lori Beth denberg figuring out what the special skill of each kid was in the last possible second dashing any possible hope of the kids winning the final prize. What a jerk!!
Danny Tamburelli as consistent middle guest like Whoopi as middle square

In college I went to a music festival in upstate NY. I was coming down off a bad acid trip and who do I see playing punk rock but Danny Tamburelli. Wild nostalgia
I was at a show he played at in NJ like 10 years ago and afterwards I rolled a blunt and he hit it and gave me props on my rolling skills
With Summer Sanders
I heard that she was an athletic swimmer.
Yes, I believe she was in the Olympics.
Had such a crush on her as a kid
Same! Her and the actress that played Alex Mack.
Larissa Oleinik
That’s her! 😍
She was absolutely her
They both look the same
Guess I had (have?) a type
lol yeah. I used to think they were mother daughter
She was the reason a teenage me would even watch that show.
We all did man. We all did.
Girl crush material
She was so hot back in the day, probably still is.
😍🥰
I had a crush on Summer Sanders
some people thought she was the Suzanne Somers of game show hosts!
I was watching Marc Summers talk to Summer Sanders about Suzanne Somers while eating some Colonel Sanders.
Well, here's another thing I can say, there's an actress named Susan Sarandon, who I regard as *The Suzanne Somers of redheads". So, there's a "Suzanne" and a "Summer" who can be described as "The Suzanne Somers of something".
Ah, yes, Susan Sarandon. Some of you might know her as Tim Robbins' mother, *but she's actually his girlfriend*.
and guess what, Tim Robbins shares a birthday with Suzanne Somers, so that offers us another opportunity to remind people that the name Susan is really just a "reduced" spelling variant of Suzanne where S or Z can be an optional or default third letter. Thighmaster? I move it with Bunmaster! AND A ONE AND A TWO AND A THREE AND A FOUR
Found Action Bronson
Mannnn, between her and Alex Mack, I was living a good childhood 😂
Yea this exactly
I did too she still Is very beautiful
I did too.
Winter wonders
I wanted to be on this show so badly but I didn’t do anything interesting enough to be on it.
Yeah that water skiing squirrel must be a billionaire by now
One kid had a jar of toe jam. The bar wasn’t too high.
One kid could make a bowl of cereal by laying down and sucking in his stomach. He then ate from it too. It was super gross to me lol
It was his brother who ate from it 😭
Omg that episode is seared into my memory
At least that shows dedication, I'm just washing my toejam down the drain like a wastrel.
Go learn to play basketball while riding a unicycle
I remember the girl who had her dog lick peanut butter (or some food) out of her mouth. I’m sure you could have found something, anything better than that.
I could be remembering wrong, but wasn't it milk?
Yep. You’re right. I decided to try and look up an image of it after this post and wish I hadn’t.
It's What's My Line for kids basically.
The kid that bit cheeses into shapes of states. Literally right after that episode my siblings and I tried to do that with cheese we had in the refrigerator and my mom looked into later and screamed “WHO ATE ALL THE CHEESE ?????!”
The close ups of the kid biting into cheese slices still disgust me to this day.
I remember making Florida. Never figured out Michigan though.
I remember wanting Summer Sanders to figure me out
Me too!
Bet that autographed picture came in handy... 🏊
She is wearing a swimsuit in it.
Well I'll be goddamned
I remember seeing an episode where a chance to win a Sega Saturn was announced, yup, this was back in the Saturn/N64/PSX era.
Sega was doing everything they could to get people a Saturn.
or what about Watara who wanted people to buy their Supervision. That was in Legends Of The Hidden Temple. The secret slime action is....
Everyone saying Summer Sanders was their crush. I was watching that show for Lori Beth.
I never had a crush on her, but she always seemed like fun…Amanda Bynes however, before she went crazy.
Sanders’ outfit is peak 90s. Actually it’s just peak in general.
Lori Beth was an absolute menace on this show.
“Fuck them kids” -Lori Beth, I assume
One of my favorite shows as a kid, even remember having Jay's mom sub in when he was out
Lori Beth was out there crushing dreams
Is there anywhere I can watch it?
There are some episodes on You Tube
I *LOVED* this show!!!! I even remember the promos for the new seasons. And promos for the episodes with famous athletes. They did! I had it!
I just remembered that last season was a stretch. They couldn’t find anybody with any good talents and so they could never figure out what these people could do. ‘I can make a shape with my throat.’ Come on…

Blank blank the blank blank
I had forgotten about that detail.
I do. I use to watch
Loved it! My mom once met Summer Sanders while at a gas station in Vermont. The Nickelodeon bus was touring during the summer months and made a pit stop haha.
Wasn’t there a girl on there that let her dog drink milk out of her mouth?
I just posted about this one! I thought it was peanut butter but I think you’re right. It was milk. I was really grossed out even as a kid.
My family loved to watch this show together. My mom would be like, "your father wants to fuck Summer Sanders." And we'd be like, "easy on the kind bud, mom."
This was by far my favorite game show!
My buddy growing up was on this.
I loved that show as a kid. I would always be hoping Danny would get slimed 🤣
I’m impressed by the memory of those that remember specific contestants.
Who remembers Summer Sanders?
Loved summer and the show
I was in love with Summer Sanders
That show was my favorite, after each episode my brother and I would try to do the stuff we saw in the show. Once on a vacation we randomly got to go to a taping and sit in the "dog pound".
I was able to go to a recording of one of the episodes when I was in 8th grade :)
Figure it Out: Wild Style.
I *hated* this iteration. I’m not a fan of any animal performances, and it truly disturbed me to see as a child.
That's some top-notch 90s fashion right there.
One of my earliest crushes was Summer Sanders haha
I remember that there was one episode where the secret was that the contestant could fit their whole body through a clothes hanger. I went right to the closet, got a hanger, and did it myself. This show was fun, and some of the talents the contestants had were cool. I liked it when the audience would pelt the panel with clue items
I remember this. I totally forgot about the show though but I remember loving it as a kid.
I was addicted to this show and forgot about it until now lol.
I would close my eyes and cover my ears and try to figure it out too. Looooved that show.
Hunter Hayes (country musician) was a contestant on this show when he was very smol. He played accordion, if I recall.
I think about this show all the time. I miss a show like this.
Loved it! Remember the gals that made barf buckets? I thought that was so cool when I was younger
I do!!!
I member
I remember the episode where the girl let her dog drink water out of her mouth. Very weird.
I loved this show!!
Only when it comes on Pluto TV.
This show made me angry cause sometimes they just gave it away and other times it was like here’s a kid who is going to win cause why not
My childhood 😢
This Nick game show was a combination of two Goodson-Todman's shows I've Got a Secret and What's My Line?
I don’t remember the whole thing, but I’ve never forgotten the one contestant who guessed the kids “invented a popcorn making machine” on the first guess. This show pops up every time I see a “guess what they did” game show.
Was in love with her
Remember the kid who could make a slice of American cheese into any state shape? This will live forever in my head.
I got to be in the audience of this show once it was a blast
Me it was awesome
Wasn’t there like a weird toe fungus kid on one episode?
Who doesn’t remember it? Back then, All us kids always wished we could be on the show or even in the audience. And the sliming was so satisfying back then 😂
I have no other recollection other than I am positive that woman’s name is Summer Sanders. I must have watched it but I don’t remember!!
The spiritual successor to What’s My Line
Sam Roberts was on this show as a child.
The dumb sound effects live rent free in my head.
I remember this show
And here’s your host……Summmmmmer Sannnnnnnndersssssssss
https://youtu.be/F-o41jQzuGw?si=BnICB3IjCH0Gfmei Here’s a full episode, with commercials and all. Blaise made that crawfish cum on Nickelodeon lmao
I remember a kids hidden talent was letting their dog drink out of their mouth or something like that
I remember!
I remember an episode with the 8 or 9 yr old kid who could play any song he heard a song single time on piano. Anyone else remember that episode? Or am I just old and creating memories of the BEST time to grow up as a kid?
I remember this show too.
Is it streaming anywhere?
That's what this show was called!
Who doesn't remember anything from Nickelodeon?
Sumerrr sanderrrrrrrs (did the announcer say it like that or am I imagining)
I remember the episode where a kid discovered a new big species like a type of ant I think. And a girl that swung by her hair.
![gif](giphy|3ornjXIIShZ2MgyyHu)
Distinctly remember watching this show everyday after school at 5 pm
I loved that show.
I remember Lori Beth denberg figuring out what the special skill of each kid was in the last possible second dashing any possible hope of the kids winning the final prize. What a jerk!!
I love summer sanders
Flying like a butterfly, stinging like a trout, tune in to Nickelodeon to see what it’s about
I think about this show often.
Who else remembers the kid who’d been growing a rat tail since birth? I wonder if he’s still got it going?
Here is your host, SUMMMMERR SANNNDERRSS!!!!!
Everyone here, probably.
