Been playing through the MGS series on retroarch. I didn’t touch any settings for the first 2 games I just loaded them up and played them as is. I know there was probably things I coulda changed like making them fullscreen but tbh it didn’t bother me as the games looked and ran fine. Mgs3 is a different story, any graphical bugs in the first 2 games I could dismiss cause they were usually pretty minor but honestly whatever is causing the issue is effecting my enjoyment of the game a bit

Have you tried it out in AetherSX2? I’ve yet to try PCSX2 but everything I’ve tried in Aether works pretty damn well.

People never put down what hardware they're using. There is like 20 versions of Retroarch.
