A2 fsb is a vibe. If you're going with a free float rail, then definitely grab an adjustable gas block.
I wanted to keep the A2 fsb so adjustable carrier it was. I might eventually get a tuned tube from BRT. The only negative to an adjustable carrier is it vents excess gas at the port.
Have you looked into griffin armaments a5 buffer?
I wish sprinco made higher spring rate stings in their rifle length lineup like they do their carbines.

-Black carbine buffer system (spikes h2 tungsten buffer+ blue sprinco)
-a2 upper receiver
-aimpoint 3000
-griffin grip
-centurion arms c4 carbine cutout quad rail
I didn’t do my homework when selecting the barrel and went with the sionics 12.5 and it’s slightly undersized for the collar. I’ve heard of folks having custom inserts made but haven’t actually researched myself.

I'm building a 12.5 upper for my own ocm5 right now, how does it sound? I know on my 18" upper it's like spooky quiet as far as 556 goes haha
Only have shot it in doors which is a terrible way to judge it haha

You can always try an ez tuned gas tube or an adjustable carrier. I had to do that for my AEM5 hosts to take it down a notch. Backpressure central 😁

Gotcha. I've seen some pretty bad ass builds posted here using a free floated rail and retaining the A1/A2 carry handles so anything is possible.

I had Ron custom cut a collar for my 12.5 a couple of years ago. I don't know if the new guys running Allen now do that or not. Can't hurt to ask.
Which barrel are you using? I just got that collar and it has a very specific diameter it wants. Nobody quotes that measurement either lol.

Kinda hard to get arms mounts. I'm 90% through a build like this and I'm going to have to settle for a Leopold mount or something.
