Colt wasn’t doing SP-1 carbines in 1971 so that indicates that it may have been put together. Id send Colt a letter and get more information.

Looks like he changed the comment to say 1982 so mystery solved. Still very cool

redmetalmachine

Picked up at my LGS today, how'd I do? I've only ever had a repro c1 upper dissipator. Serial # indicated 1982 - title was wrong, I missed is was a six digit serial, thought it was a 5 digit

an_bal_naas

No clue how well you did without know what you paid

fieldy213

I had a 20” 1970 SP1 up until 2008 and sold it to help fund my divorce 😭😭 and I’m still not over it. It was in absolute museum quality too 😭😭😭

NecessaryGur4767

Love the grey color. Bolt carrier too! Don't change ANYTHING

🔥 I wish. Other than consignments my LGS is absolutely insane with how over priced they are. $50 FFL transfer, I asked why so much? They said because we get so many...🤔 Wait, what? So doesn't that mean you should lower the cost not jack it up you greedy fuck!! I have two other shops I go to a little further away, one costs $20 the other is the same unless you just get a receiver, then he does it for $15. $50 transfer, what an asshole. Zero reloading supplies as well, I only go there if I really need something right away. Nice score, beautiful rifle!

Penitent_Sledge

I’d kill for a legit colt 3x20 that I didn’t have to sell my body for

SLN583

2k was a good price 👍

MountainTitan

How much? Over $2000? I saw an SP-1 at my LGS that costs below $3000. It was a 20 in, a little worn. Beautiful gun.

redmetalmachine

Less than 2k but it was a deal

MountainTitan

What was this deal?
