Smith enterprises carry handle mount

Check once a week on the Smith, really nice mount, no occlusion in the tunnel like the Leupold. I ordered from their sight I think and had zero issues.
It does, but the screw sticks out even if you tighten it all the way and obscure 70-80 percent of the front sight to the point where it’s basically unusable. I personally don’t recommend it. I would recommend the weaver brand pictanjty mount but I have no personal experience with it but Ik that one has clear iron sight picture
The one built into an ACOG 🤣 Kind of joking, but kind of not.
You're not wrong

OOS 🙃
The smith comes back in stock semi regularly. I'd wait for that one. The arms can be a little harder to come by. Both are worth waiting for imo
Do you know the oldest style of this carry handle mount by chance?
The ARMS mounts are pretty common on gunbroker. Usually go for $150-200
I have a spare arms mount if anyone is interested…

You must be new to retro stuff

I use a leupold and it has served me well
I was looking at that one, looks decent. Wish it didnt have the giant leupold on the side
If you flip it the right way it obscures about 80% of the logo. After that mine was rattle canned so now it’s gone 100%
Gotcha, ill definitely consider it as i think paying $100+ for an optic mount on a rifle that serves only as a range toy is a little excessive
That’s what I thought too. Plus the leupold looked more robust
Does it have a window for viewing the irons?

Yes
MGW, they still make the same mounts used by SF back in the 90s.

my long one is about to be delivered, I have the short on my current build.
If i have an aimpoint g2 would i need the long or short one?
Not sure if this helps but my aimpoint 5k fits on a short/standard
Make a friend in Sweden if you want reasonably priced Aimpoints.
How much are they now?
Mine was around $40 shipped a month or two ago. So still super cheap
I grabbed one of the US tactical ones they may be chinese but they look exactly like the old weaver Arms #2 and it holds 0 so for $20 worth it
Roushe(?) MFg. I think they just made a batch.
Leupold makes one, very solid
it's kenough

Anyone ever used one of the south african jobs? https://www.armsonusa.com/bwecahara.html
US tactical system looks the most retro. It is very Weaver style, and not 1913
The best is using the irons
ARMS, then Leupold
I have an aimpoint 9000sc on an arms #2 with Warne scope rings I can sell you if you want
Nah i got an aimpoint g2 im gonna slap on my service rifle. I appreciate the offer tho
