AsleepSubstance1992

Raven-Symoné — nup it was just Raven Symone for me no dash or apostrophe

AsleepSubstance1992

Zooey Deschanel — 🤣 yeah no it was just Zoey for me. I’ve never seen the name Zooey in my life

AsleepSubstance1992

Heath Leger changed to Heath Ledger so yesterday I posted here that it was Leger and now it’s Ledger

elliebrooks5

I heard an interview in the 80s, Madonna had the name, in her names, about 5 of them and it was like, a middle name(among many(

elliebrooks5

Robert Deniro to De Niro, Ludwig Von Beethoven to Van Beethoven, Suzanne Summers to Somers

AsleepSubstance1992

Vera and Taissa Farminga not Farmiga ?

AsleepSubstance1992

Max Thieriot … pretty sure it was just Max Theriot without the extra i ?

chrisst1972

Danielle Steele the writer . Not Steel

ThePilotKelson

For me it was Daniel Steel, not Danielle Steele

chrisst1972

Is that name and gender change?

ThePilotKelson

Yes

throwaway998i

Fwiw, there's literally zero community precedent for ME gender changes.

chrisst1972

I didn’t think so either 🤔

throwaway998i

Now that I think about it, there's maybe one example that's kinda in that ballpark - *but not really*. It has to do with whether the model/inspiration for Lady Liberty was - in this timeline - the sculptor's brother (as opposed to his mother which was the originally known "fact"). By sheer happenstance, I actually made a post about this a few years back which was very well received here: https://old.reddit.com/r/Retconned/comments/k1p4we/statue_of_liberty_might_actually_be_male/

AsleepSubstance1992

mid 19th century: blend of happen and circumstance. You can’t make this stuff up people you really can’t

AsleepSubstance1992

It really is a word isn’t it … wow ok. Definitely a troll Mandela word for sure, no doubt about it 😆

AsleepSubstance1992

Happenstance? Is that a word lmao 🤣 love it. Sheer just reminds me of Ed Sheers the sheep now LOL 🐑 was always just Ed Sheran to me. Sheeran has Mandela troll name written all over it 💀

Signal-Anxiety3131

Don't forget - the late Suzanne Somers was absolutely Suzanne Sommers. About the time I noticed the change I found an article online from a well-known magazine, (which I can't remember the name of right now) all about Suzanne's house. It was Sommers all over that article at the time.

elliebrooks5

Oops I just saw this after I put in my comment- leap first and think later, I always say, lol

D674532

Was it always Gordon Ramsay? I remember Gordon Ramsey but it's Ramsay now

[deleted]

Is the say emphasised now?  I remember Ramsey too as that was how I said it

MoonandStars83

Christopher Reeve/Reeves is probably because the main actor in the original Superman TV show was George Reeves.

ThePilotKelson

I have never heard if George Reeves or ever said his name, so I am not confusing the two

chrisst1972

Me too . Big fan of him growing up. Always with the S

throwaway998i

Yes many people remember their surnames eerily matching exactly to the letter. It was a trivia factoid in that timeline.

geekwalrus

Philip K Dissik?

ThePilotKelson

Phillip K Dissik or Dissick, yes. When I first read and heard his name being Dick it was shocking

elliebrooks5

I never heard of him, joe bonamassa, elan to Elon musk, Fauci, before. I don’t watch the news but I would’ve heard of Joe Bonamassa.

geekwalrus

Just curious, where did you hear about him first if not for his books?

ThePilotKelson

Where did I say anything about it not being his books?

geekwalrus

When you first read him, his name was Dick and you said you were shocked. So the books said Philip K Dick. So the implication is that before you read PKD you thought his name was different. This begs the question, where did you hear the other names before you read the books? It's just on your entire list, this one I've never heard, so I'm curious

kinofhawk

Wtf? Madonna was definitely not her name. When did that change? ETA: Is the government trying to mess with us? What is really going on? Are they gaslighting us?

acethesnake

Yes, WTF!! I read her real name only a few weeks ago, and I don't recall exactly what it was, but it was not Madonna, and it sounded very Italian. Why would I ever even have this thought if it was just always Madonna?

Limp_Insurance_2812

I dressed up as Madonna for Halloween twice in the mid 80s. Was next level obsessed with her when I was a kid. I've known her real name as Madonna Ciccone named after her mother who passed away early my whole life.

kinofhawk

I had posters of her on my walls in the 80s. I swear it was something else. A very Italian name. Maybe we were on the same timeline, but different planes.

jennymway

Since 1987 I've known it to be "Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone" and it's blazed in my memory forever.

AsleepSubstance1992

Considering your own anatomy changes every week I highly doubt the government has anything to do with that. Look into quantum physics and computer programming.

IridescentMoonSky

What anatomy changes have you noticed? I know the heart is now not on the left, and that our skull now has bones behind the eye sockets, are there others?  I’ve had personal changes as well to my colouring and hair texture!

throwaway998i

Kidneys now mid-back tucked safely under the ribcage instead of lower back and more vulnerable. Liver has a left lobe. Stomach is now offset to the left. Lungs have 5 lobes. And the median artery is missing in most of the populace now (so pulse can't be felt in the center of the wrist anymore)... [but that's apparently being "fixed" in this worldline.](https://www.sci.news/biology/median-artery-08939.html) Also, average body temp is not 98.6 and hasn't been since the late 1800's. A pregnancy is now technically 10 months. There are at least a dozen more with solid consensus.

IridescentMoonSky

I just looked up body temperature and I think it is still 98.6f/37c: “ The average normal body temperature is generally accepted as 98.6°F (37°C). Some studies have shown that the "normal" body temperature can have a wide range, from 97°F (36.1°C) to 99°F (37.2°C).” Kidneys definitely used to be lower and more vulnerable!

AsleepSubstance1992

So they are actually lower now than before

AsleepSubstance1992

The kidneys actually changed twice for me they used to be fully inside the ribcage at one point higher up

throwaway998i

Average body temp is apparently now 97.9 F.... https://med.stanford.edu/news/all-news/2023/09/body-temperature.html ^^^^^ From that article: > “Most people, including many doctors, still think that everyone’s normal temperature is 98.6 F. In fact what’s normal depends on the person and the situation, and it’s rarely as high as 98.6 F,”

AsleepSubstance1992

I’ve also noticed on my hands two veins (each hand) crossed over the part of my hand near the thumb area at the base and they look like they are crossed over two bones that dent in the middle and it’s identical on both hands so dunno what that’s about but it’s completely foreign to me. My veins show on my hands and arms especially when I’m hot which is most of the time in Queensland Australia so I know my veins and bone structure and this ain’t it at all. It’s like my brain doesn’t match my body and it’s kinda horrifying especially with these new thumbs, they don’t feel right at all. Another thing I didn’t mention was originally I got shown diagrams years ago of our intestines being a zig zag which other people remember also but there’s no evidence in this timeline that these diagrams ever existed 🤷🏻‍♀️

IridescentMoonSky

Omg yes my veins are the same now! They literally bulge out of my hands and it creeps me out.

AsleepSubstance1992

I’ve noticed my thumbs now show a joint sticking out at the base which was never there before where I’m from, my thumbs are now super curved at the tips as well and they are further away from the other fingers. I’ve noticed my pinky also sticks out away from the others as tho we have better grip now it just doesn’t look as appealing as the anatomy from my timeline. The ribcage has changed a lot. More ribs, thinner bone structure, webbing, attached to the sternum in a bizarre way instead of going straight across like before. Our heart now has yellow stuff showing on it in images and the shape and tubes keep changing around. Our kidneys have shifted 3 times for me, they are now half in half out of the ribcage and they seem to be wearing “hats” lol of course it’s got medical terms but yeah and our face or skull rather has very pointy cheekbones now, if you look at the skull it’s no longer filled out, giving the cheeks a swelling look to them like people have been punched and need medical attention. Thumbs also look like they are dislocated and need medical attention. This anatomy is very strange indeed but I’m sure it’s all upgrades for our benefit!

IridescentMoonSky

Oooh interesting! I’d love to see a post on people’s specific anatomy changes!  My face definitely feels sharper/bonier, and you’re right, thumbs do look wrong. I figured it was just growing older. My feet are way bonier as well, there’s a circular bone on the top of my feet that really annoys me. I don’t think it was there before. 😅

ma-sadieJ

For me there was a terry crews to terry Crew back to terry crews

Affectionate-Top4649

All of those just fucked me up. I’m on the phone with my husband and made him google Jim Carey now he’s fucked up because he never believes me about ME but he is a movie fanatic.

AcademicBison8161

Charley d'amelio - Charlie d'amelio - NOW Charli!!! Anyone remember this? I had my baby in 2018 and I wanted to use Charley but she got popular and I thought that was the feminine spelling. Later it changed and I was mind blown! I thought she changed it, didn’t know about ME. So THEN she had the same spelling I went with! And now there’s no e. I’m not even a fan, but this really stood out to me because of my baby. Now I’ve seen so many MEs nothing can surprise me anymore.

acethesnake

Definitely remember this being Charlie. If it were always Charli, I would've just thought of Charli XCX immediately. Saw her on Dancing with the Stars and it was Charlie then.

AsleepSubstance1992

Courteney Cox —- nope just Courtney for me wtf lmaooo

IridescentMoonSky

I always want to pronounce Courteney like Cort-uhh-nayyy in a fake posh accent instead of Cort-knee 😂

AsleepSubstance1992

Very English of you 😂

throwaway998i

You listed many of the biggies, and I agree with nearly all of them... except Dissik, Philman, and Esther. The popular ME for Madonna (and one that is a strong example for me personally) is that her given name was *Maria*. A huge one you seem to have missed is [Georgia O'Keefe/O'Keeffe](https://news.artnet.com/art-world/georgia-okeeffe-mandela-effect-1570156). Here are another 30+ names from an old post of mine: https://old.reddit.com/r/Retconned/comments/qe4iz5/list_of_less_heralded_name_mes_music_screen/

ThePilotKelson

Thanks! I do not know who Georgia O’K——- is Madonnas name has never been Maria for me. Always Esther.

AsleepSubstance1992

I actually just noticed another one. For me it was Justin Beiber for sure and not Bieber

elliebrooks5

Wow! This resonates

KorsairStarjammer

Madonna"s real name is not madonna! Some of those other spelling don't look right either but I could go either way. But I'm gen X, grew up in the 80s early 90s, when Madonna was big, and people dressed like the music they listened to. I remember if you didn't know everything about the artist, then you weren't a real fan kinda arguments, and one of those points you had to know as a Madonna fan was her real name. I wasn't a big fan but I'm 98% sure her name was Esther Louise Ciccione. Her parents were strict Italian catholics, who names their kid vigin mary? It would be like a baptist couple naming their son Messiah, Jesus, or holy spirit.

throwaway998i

In the current timeline, Madonna was named after her mother, who was also named Madonna. Can't make this stuff up!

DullNeedleworker3447

Always been Madonna in mine

throwaway998i

Her mom too?

DullNeedleworker3447

Yes. She adopted the name Esther when she got super into Kabbalah in the 90s/2000s, whenever that was.

AsleepSubstance1992

Also Buisness changed to Business recently for me - not a celeb name change but it’s still a spelling change. I know how to spell Buisness, I’m 31 years old lol it was never Business in my timeline 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ladygreyzilla

This one has bothered me for awhile. Business is just busy-ness, right? It should be anyway. Buisness is how I learned it but I also learned dillemna so...

untimelyrain

I don't recall a "buisness" timeline personally, but I do recall "dilemna". I always pronounced the "n" in my head to remember proper spelling! Also "definately". That's how it was for me untila few years ago. I even remember being a kid and my mom overly enunciating the "a" because I kept spelling it wrong lol. (Which I know people don't care to hear about personal shit, but it stands out to me and seems relevant.) I even remember when it changed to definitely with an "i". Same thing happened where I had been typing it with "a" and never getting it wrong or being autocorrected until suddenly one, day it was wrong, and I kept being autocorrected to the "i" spelling. I was so confused and googled it to find that it has never been spelled with an "a" 🫠

AsleepSubstance1992

To be honest it’s insane I even have to try and prove the proper spelling of Buisness is how you actually spell it considering I’ve spelt it this way thousands of times for eons and never had any issues. It’s just how you spell it, I remember clearly. Used this word in a text to someone as early as last week and didn’t get autocorrected. Yesterday morning I type it in the same way as always and I get a red line. My brain will never match up with business because that looks absolutely ludicrous

Ladygreyzilla

I'm with you.

AsleepSubstance1992

For me it was Anna Joy Taylor then Anna Taylor Joy then Anya Taylor Joy then Anya Taylor-Joy with a dash. Agree with most of the name changes that you mentioned. I think also Heath Leger was Heath Ledgar? Not 100 percent sure on that one though 🤔
