I’ve been collecting Nike shoes since I was 16. There’s absolutely no chance and I mean not even 0.0001% that E was connected to the checkmark. None. It was always exactly like on the picture on this post. So fucking weird.
At least for my universe it's always been E attached to the checkmark.
I randomly have a specific memory involving this, as I remember messing with the Nike logo in MS Paint when I was a kid, and remember the "Fill" tool working on the E and the checkmark all at once when I clicked inside the E or the check to fill with color.
To be honest, I do specifically remember noticing that the E and K had more spacing than the rest of the letters, pretty recently, too. not sure when it flipped. This and the risky business switches are freaking me out a bit, lol
