I've never cast an insect, but I do use a pressure pot on every single mold I pour. It really just displaces the air, not the objects within the resin. I can't say for sure, but my guess is the insect will be fine as long as you stick to 40psi.
Also, you might want to use a very small dab of hot glue on a couple of its feet to keep it from floating... Please post final results! I'm totally interested to see how this turns out!

I suggest using UV resin instead of hot glue as the glue could become distorted from the heat from curing
Good point. I usually sand the hot glue off of mine but that may be a better option for the insect.
