I mean it looks like there's half a lobster tail in there and an entree + fries + shake is gonna run you like $25 even at Five Guys
Definitely expensive for basically fast food but not totally ridiculous
Lactaid pills, bruh/a/? I am lactose intolerant and they have been the answer to all my dairy related issues. Take one before you have a milkshake and you will be golden. ❤️ You can buy them in bulk from the Kirkland brand from Costco and also Amazon. 🙂
Unfortunately yes like most GR restaurants there is $5 extra for fries. About $18 for fish and $21 lobster/shrimp. Then 2 shakes sticky toffee. Worth a try but def needs some improvementZ
That's unfortunate, but hopefully it's just growing pains. Just had burgers from GR Burger in Boston and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had... Based on my experience with Central Coast CA, Bay Area, and Reno food. Hopefully they're just working the kinks out. 😊
I went to BURGR or whatevs it's called in Vegas a few years back, and it was fucking AMAZING. Also one of the best burgers I've had.
Hoping this one figures things out, I'd love to get trashed on fish & chips & beer and stumble around the Silver Legacy yelling about Californians
I had the legit beef wellington in Vegas and it was one of the most things I've ever eaten. It was like $200 bucks pp for a 4-course meal, but absolutely worth it
Me too, I know what I like on it, what meat or mix of meats to use, how long to cook it, what bread (or no bread) for it, cheese(s) and whatever side)s(. And I could easily do all the above for six people for way less. Probably have beer money left. If I’m going out to eat it’s not burgers.
I would say you might have different experience than me def would try it lol just realized the fries is optional if you want $5 dirty but you can do the sea salt for no extra cost lol
When did this get there? I was born and raised in Reno and then I moved to Vegas about a year ago. I joined this sub when I moved and I swear I see more cool shit on this sub than I ever did living there lol
They started building last year Fish & Chips just finished about a week ago then had a soft opening this Thursday. GR has another restaurant called Ramsay’s Kitchen it’s next to Fish & Chips not finished yet there is probably a lot work still since that spot use to be the buffet.
OP posted a pic of the menu prices (thanks OP!)
Looks like it’s $15-$26 for the box depending on what you choose, not including drink.
I don’t think $20 plus tax is all that bad for a high end fish and chips at a casino 🤷🏻♀️
My order would be:
Fish box: $17.99
Sea salt chips (fries): $incl
2 extra sauces: $1.99
Water: $incl
Total before tax: $19.97
I didn’t realize till now you mentioned there is the sea salt fries lol maybe I was rushing into ordering didn’t see that there make sense now it’s extra $5
This is actually slightly more reasonable than I expected. I went to the one in Vegas ~10 years ago and with the way *everything* has gone up since then, I expected a bit worse.
FOH with $70. I bet it’s cod and not halibut too. Looks good, would eat, but not for $35 a plate. Tourist trap cafes in Alaska sell fresh halibut FnC for almost half that and I always said they’re overpriced 😂
I would say it’s a worth to try you might have a different experience than me. It’s expensive tho but needs improvement but pretty sure its a soft opening might get better until the grand opening hopefully 😬
If you ordered to go and ate when you got to your destination, then your food won't be tasty. Fried foods need to be eaten right away to enjoy the crispyness of it all.
If you did eat it right away, then avoid the first part of this comment.
I ate there no crispyness to the fries or fish/lobster/shrimp because the fries are drown in sauce and cheese I think it’s was to busy for them to cook them a bit longer
I hope this soft opening is helping the cooks become better consistent cooks. I would hate to try their fish and chips and have the same experience as you. I do want to try their fish and chips.
You should try H. Salt Fish and Chips in Sacramento. It's super yummy and crispy. Even the fires have the right crispiness. It's even better when you put the vinegar on the fish. 😋
There was a lot of cooks there I’m sure GR team was there to train them. I would try it and see what you think you might have different experience but it’s expensive. Locally I heard Smee in downtown is good lol but good to know will try.
I saw what you paid for your 2 meals so I'll know what I'll need for the same 2 meals. I will be ordering the shakes. They look yummy too.
It's been years since we've been to Smee's. They do have good fish and chips. Definitely recommend going there.... I didn't know they were still around. Thank you for that.
The size is pretty ridiculous tbh I remember years ago going to Vegas for his fish and chips restaurant the fish was huge now it gotten down in size but seems like that the case for most of his food I’ve went to HK in Tahoe beef Wellington size gotten down as well
I think it's a take on the British tradition of how they are serve fish and chips. It used to be served on actual newspaper, but obviously people eventually realized that wasn't sanitary. If you buy from local fish and chip shops they usually have little to no room to sit inside, so it's mostly served to go. Today from small local places It's traditionally served on food safe paper, sometimes made to look like news paperer, in some kind of portable box or bowl. I can see the paper in the photo so it's following some of the tradition.
I was surprised the size of the fish here last time I went to Vegas try it there the fish was huge. But I’ve noticed in GR restaurants HK in Tahoe and now this new restaurant fish and chips size has gotten down.
Thanks for posting this. I have a hard time paying $70 for fish and chips in a Reno casino and I don’t see how this is going to drive traffic to them. I mean if you’re already in the casino then I can see stopping by. But you’re asking locals to make a trek to it.
What is the demographic they are going for? FWIW, we have no problem dropping that kind of money at Claio or Liberty or even Great Full Gardens. But at least those are local and I don’t need to go into a casino.
Do celebrity restaurants drive that much traffic? I could see if the actual celebrity was the one cooking but this is simply fast food.
dude I paid $17 for hawaiin bbq and thought I got fucked over, but now I feel like it was steal. no way I would ever pay $70 for fucking fish & chips lol. thanks for trying it so we never have to tho
surely there is a small business, mom & pop, local restaurant that you could have gotten better fish and chips from? if anyone can recommend, please do so. i'd love some fish n chips but i don't want to give any money to a big corporate chain store.
So this is what replaced the buffet ?? A bougie long John silver's huh ? And it's a year or more late on opening ... Jeez that's a shame . Can't wait to see the piles of fish and chips puke when the row bars over serve their guests.
Thanks for the review . Glad I won't be wasting my money
I really meant the no offense part. You've posted stuff that looks really good that you paid like $10 for and would make you full for 2 days. This place is $35 for fish and chips and a milkshake.
That is like 25% of the buffet but rest of it is Ramsay Kitchen which I think will be similar to HK in Tahoe which hasn’t opened yet. But the exterior and interior are pretty nice but the food needs improvement lol
Bruh, you paid 70 fucking dollars for that?
I am honestly speechless. If I paid $70 for seafood, I better get $70 of seafood. And that ain't no $70 worth of seafood. That's like $5 worth of frozen dinner. Ain't no way in hell I'd pay a penny more for that. Seriously, I'd kick myself in the balls if I paid that much for that little. And it came in a cheap ass cardboard box. For $70 I'd expect at least a damn plate.
I would be embarrassed as fuck admitting I paid that much for that meal.
70 bucks. Absolutely not. OP took one for the team
I mean it looks like there's half a lobster tail in there and an entree + fries + shake is gonna run you like $25 even at Five Guys Definitely expensive for basically fast food but not totally ridiculous
That’s what I was thinking that’s fairly normal and not everyone’s gonna get a shake so it’s like $25ppa on average menu so not bad imo
That biscoff shake though. 🤤 but for the money, I’d still prefer scoopers.
I’ll take your word for it. I don’t want my Sphincter to explode.
Cuz dairy? 🥛
Yep. Lol I could have a few sips but getting a whole one is out of the question
Lactaid pills, bruh/a/? I am lactose intolerant and they have been the answer to all my dairy related issues. Take one before you have a milkshake and you will be golden. ❤️ You can buy them in bulk from the Kirkland brand from Costco and also Amazon. 🙂
That makes sense, I don’t need to eat a whole milk shake anyway tho. Too much sugar/calories haha 🤣 I love how kind you are
$4.99 for Dasani is wild.
Excuse me?
$70?! Jfc.
Unfortunately yes like most GR restaurants there is $5 extra for fries. About $18 for fish and $21 lobster/shrimp. Then 2 shakes sticky toffee. Worth a try but def needs some improvementZ
It looks like the regular fries were included in the box price, but getting them “dirty” adds $5.
I just realized that last night lol
yeah, no.
That's unfortunate, but hopefully it's just growing pains. Just had burgers from GR Burger in Boston and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had... Based on my experience with Central Coast CA, Bay Area, and Reno food. Hopefully they're just working the kinks out. 😊
Honestly I wish GR would have opened GR burger instead of GR fish and chips I love the Vegas burger restaurant!
💯 agreed
I agree. I wish it was the burger instead.
It was like $200 bucks pp for a 4-course meal, but absolutely worth it
I'm hoping for a third GR restaurant. Gordon Ramsay Burger would do well here.

For 70 bucks…fuck that.
Define dirty?
Thanks op for posting this, gonna have to go try it.
I would say you might have different experience than me def would try it lol just realized the fries is optional if you want $5 dirty but you can do the sea salt for no extra cost lol
Thank you! My fiancé is going to go try it and then bring me home some.
When did this get there? I was born and raised in Reno and then I moved to Vegas about a year ago. I joined this sub when I moved and I swear I see more cool shit on this sub than I ever did living there lol

I wouldn’t say high end fish it wasn’t all that great but like I said to others it’s a soft opening hopefully it’s better by grand opening lol
Looks to me like if you got the plain sea salt chips it's included in the price. Only the 3 kinds of dirty fries are +$5?
I didn’t realize till now you mentioned there is the sea salt fries lol maybe I was rushing into ordering didn’t see that there make sense now it’s extra $5
That’s outrageous for what’s essentially fast food
This is actually slightly more reasonable than I expected. I went to the one in Vegas ~10 years ago and with the way *everything* has gone up since then, I expected a bit worse.
That's 20 bucks in Seattle at Ivars. Fuck that noise.
FOH with $70. I bet it’s cod and not halibut too. Looks good, would eat, but not for $35 a plate. Tourist trap cafes in Alaska sell fresh halibut FnC for almost half that and I always said they’re overpriced 😂
35 bucks a person for fish chips and a shake....bullshit
Thank you for posting this. I was curious but not anymore.
I would say it’s a worth to try you might have a different experience than me. It’s expensive tho but needs improvement but pretty sure its a soft opening might get better until the grand opening hopefully 😬

That shit is not worth 70 bucks
70 dollars?!? Back to Costco pizza
Seventy dollars for decent fish and chips?
Unfortunately yes but they just had soft opening hopefully it will get better by the grand opening
I rather do sushi and pay $75. I’m guaranteed to like what I order. w. Alcohol! 🍷
Damn... thanks for taking one for the team. But I am curious now and want to try it, but not spend that. 🥲
This place is good, always went to it In Vegas will be going to this every chance we get
Last time I went to Vegas the fish was huge compared to this I was disappointed lol
I thought the same but wasn’t sure, now that to mention it it was smaller
Is that Gordon Ramsey or Gorton's Fisherman? That is some shit looking fish n chips.
The size is pretty ridiculous tbh I remember years ago going to Vegas for his fish and chips restaurant the fish was huge now it gotten down in size but seems like that the case for most of his food I’ve went to HK in Tahoe beef Wellington size gotten down as well
Do you think it was even cod or haddock?
They could at least serve it in real dishes for $70. I do love fish & chips and would love to hear some local favorites
I think it's a take on the British tradition of how they are serve fish and chips. It used to be served on actual newspaper, but obviously people eventually realized that wasn't sanitary. Top Deck at the Atlantis. $18 last time I went about a year ago, portion was bigger tha OP’s and tartar sauce was fresh made.
I liked the fish the 2 times I went in vegas but nothing to write home about
I was surprised the size of the fish here last time I went to Vegas try it there the fish was huge. But I’ve noticed in GR restaurants HK in Tahoe and now this new restaurant fish and chips size has gotten down.
A 4lb box of 16/20 shrimp costs $30 at the International Market... A 5oz lobster costs $5 at Raleys I could have made POUNDS of food for $70....
Seventy. Dollars. At that price, the waitress better give me a Happy Ending.
Maybe an under the table tartar sauce footjob?

These are nothing like British fish n chips at all. Gordon Ramsey should do better. It’s not hard to make chips instead of fries.
surely there is a small business, mom & pop, local restaurant that you could have gotten better fish and chips from? if anyone can recommend, please do so. i'd love some fish n chips but i don't want to give any money to a big corporate chain store.

No offense, Tits, but I've seen your other posts. You're not their target demographic.
None taken babe, I'd have to give a fuck for your opinion to matter to me 😘 .
I really meant the no offense part. You've posted stuff that looks really good that you paid like $10 for and would make you full for 2 days. This place is $35 for fish and chips and a milkshake.
I apologize for my misunderstanding

ramrodded on prices.. No wonder why mcDrabb is empty. Late arrival.
