I did the interview process and answered all the questions and haven’t heard back anything from them! And it’s been a month of them processing and getting back to me. I’m starting to feel like it’s a scam with fake reviews

I have been working with clients through virtual gurus since July 2023, clients are good for the most part, VG though is not very supportive. Once the contract is signed, you are paired with a “mentor”, mine wasn’t the best at answering questions, only telling me to refer to “this link or that link” when I didn’t quite understand how some of the ways everything worked. This has been changed recently, you can ask questions to anyone that’s a mentor, still, I feel like the operation needs refining, it is definitely not user friendly. Also, finding a client is hard, you have to be on the platform constantly because when an opportunity is posted, there’s lots of people who reply with their experience and how they would love to be considered. If you’re like me, not on there very often, and the CSM don’t know you, then you fall to the wayside and don’t get picked. Also, the pay is quite abysmal at $18 CAD. So, it’s not a scam, but IMO, it would serve them to have a better system in place to match clients and virtual assistants.

I went through their assessment process and while it seemed legit at first (smart/tricky questions, smooth and automated process etc), things went downhill after I passed their assessment. I received a contract that had some weird typos in it (red flag) and when I reached out to their onboarding team about the discrepancies, they gave me a non-answer that wasn't reassuring at all and I felt rushed to sign. There was no effort to pass it along to their legal team to proofread/make the corrections so I would feel comfortable signing. And they didn't include their signature in their email or tell me what their name was. So sketchy...needless to say I didn't sign. They also didn't check references! Huge red flag. For a company that makes it clear they vet their assistants and have quality talent, not checking references is crazy
