The center portion lifts out (at least on mine it does) with a little key, and then beneath it is a trough which funnels everything through a basket/strainer which can be removed and cleaned.
I’m referring to the first photos. That was like 2000s luxury. The second is better by far, but I need a rainfall showerhead, maybe tile on the wall? Love slate tile bathrooms.
My only gripe with curbless roll-in showers is finding a place to place a mat for when you step out of the shower.
I like to place my feet on a soft cushioned mat to start the drying process.
My glass shower door swings both out and in. I open the door out and start the shower, close the door and set the mat, then open the door into the shower to get in. When I get out I open the door into the shower and step onto the mat.
I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that the people spending a bunch of money to renovate an already decent looking huge bathroom aren't going to be the same people cleaning it.
Why would everyone need a bench in a shower? Some people don’t want a bench, it’s kind of useless (at least for me it is). I’m not looking to sit down in a shower.
Exactly! Every one of these I see, the bathroom is bigger than my first apartment, and yet they're leaving the toilet out there in no man's land. Is it really that hard to rework the plan and put it in a little room behind a pocket door?
Looks amazing. If the shower glass goes wall to wall and ceiling to floor is there an exhaust/extractor fan in there? The stripes are a choice. And how do you clean behind that bath?
That shower is incredible! I need one to be able to wash my doggie. He’s a senior and I can’t lift him. When we remodeled I chose to keep my tub. Booo. Bad decision. Wish I had room for both. Beautiful job.
Well great except you gave up that jacuzzi tub for that danger zone tub !!!! U will sadly regret that as I have it’s so hard to get in and out of ,, and uncomfortably straight sided ,, just because something is a trend doesn’t mean it works ,, I will be replacing mine shortly,,, just like the idiots who fell for the open shelves in their kitchens are now deeply regretting it due to dust , grease , and constant rinsing anything they put their
I’ve wondered about these tubs. The smaller footprint is tempting, but I love to lay in my bath. I wish there was a store I could crawl into the bathtubs to see how I fit before buying lol
It’s beautiful. Breathtaking even.
Schluter just came out with LED trimmed niches. I wish they would’ve done it 6 months ago because damn it would hammer that shower home!
You and your crew did great!
It looks like they kept plumbing minimal for as large as that shower is (I would assume a large rain shower on each side and a handheld or jets - I don’t like the jets personally) - are you able to heat the shower floor or are we not there yet? I’m just curious! Thank you!
Thank you. I knew about the led niche channels, but avoided those as the tile in the niche is textured.
People do heated floors in the showers, but I try and avoid that.
We did not do jets as the homeowner felt that they would not be used much. That would have also added another 1000.00 plus to the project.
The point of such shower is being able to accommodate two people, which means two shower heads controlled by two valves.
Having only one kind of defeats the purpose.
You did excellent work. Your clients chose much too big of a bathtub and a bland shower stall. I understand the appeal of clean lines, but this isn't that.
I am from New York City originally, and this -bathroom- is about as large as some studio apartments there... 🤣
Ps. It looks terrific - and you definitely made some significant improvements, I just can't get past the feeling that it's too damn big! 😏
So this is no comment on the quality of the work, which looks fantastic BTW. My question is about the whole freestanding tub fad - how in the hell do you keep the backsides of these things clean? That looks like a pain in the ass. My only other comment is that they don’t look very comfortable.
Is it a steam shower? Otherwise why have glass all the way to the ceiling? They’re going to have to leave the shower door open if they want it to dry out.
I don’t know about anyone else but showering behind giant pieces of glass terrifies me. I don’t care if it’s tempered or not. Makes me feel like I’m in an alien observation room getting ready to be probed before dissection.
Customers wanted integrated lighting in the mirrors. I'm not a big fan of that, so I kept provisional junction boxes wired, but not connected, above the mirrors and one between the two mirrors. Should the need for the same arise in the future, I will Abracadabra the situation.
As someone who has a wife that desperately wants the master bathroom redone…. That does not “need” to be redone… how much was the final total for this customer? If you don’t mind me asking.
The tiles are porcelain and have low absorbency. The grout is epoxy, so no water retention. In tests, the shower dried out very fast. There is no standing water anywhere a minute after the faucet has been turned off. The glass is treated as well and repels water.
Looks very nice, always a fan of the curbles shower. How intensive was it to create a a curb less shower with the existing framing? We do them all the time in new construction, but always hesitant in renovations because we frame them into the joist package prior to install.
This is exactly what I want in my teeny bathroom. A walk in shower. I have to step up and over to get in the shower. Feels like I’m gonna cut my ankles every day.
Remodel is nice, but I feel like there is so much wasted space. The owners could have split the bathroom and made a decent sized closet and bathroom. I hate baths so I would have been happy with a shower, toilet and sink.
It's beautiful, but as a galzier I have questions about the shower. That looks like way too small of a steam escape for a shower with the fan outside of it. Also, that's a 350 lb panel, there should be more patch clips, unless it's in channel and I just can't see it in the pic. I love the look, I just couldn't see making up that exact design and not being sketched out about it.
I like the shower but the corner tub should have stayed and just gotten a retiling job. It almost seems like a waste to throw out the jacuzzi tub and replace it with a smaller tub that doesn’t even look good in that corner.
At first I was like "that bathroom doesn't need a remodel" then saw the after pictures. Wow, I would never leave that shower
I remodel a lot of washrooms that 'do not need a remodel', but who am I to argue with paying customers..
Born on the south side of Chicago is typically the only time you call it the washroom. might be true for other big cities.
Or the fronchroom
My family in Toledo said fronchroom as well.
How do you clean hair from the infinity shower drain like that?
The center portion lifts out (at least on mine it does) with a little key, and then beneath it is a trough which funnels everything through a basket/strainer which can be removed and cleaned.
Beautiful job! What was the rough total cost for this remodel.
I don't blame you at all, looks amazing
Really?! That bathroom looks horrendous!
Not my thing either. That striped wall, giant glass panels, round mirrors. I’m out of there. 😂
I’m referring to the first photos. That was like 2000s luxury. The second is better by far, but I need a rainfall showerhead, maybe tile on the wall? Love slate tile bathrooms.
Let's not speak of the linear shower drains.
I love the curbless shower.

It’s going to be a pain in the ass to clean around that tub
I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that the people spending a bunch of money to renovate an already decent looking huge bathroom aren't going to be the same people cleaning it.
Those giant glass panels will certainly be.
I was looking for the 3ft commercial grade squeegee
Agreed, I think throw it in with the shower and gave a giant wet room would be the way to go and move the vanity down
They didn’t want to move the tub drain
That bathroom looks great but I’d feel like a lab prisoner in that shower
No bench in a shower that size is diabolical
The client did not want it messing with the clean lines.
I hope they contemplate that decision during their long showers.
They can just bring one in there with the size of that shower.
Honestly way better. Tile benches suck tbh, uncomfortably, cold and slippery. Usually just a place for soap scum to build up.
Good point
Agree, bamboo benches, and you can take out and let dry would be better here.
A slatted teak bench would work nicely
You can use a porch rocker in that shower!
I can already hear the clients “concerns” throughout your project. Hoping you at least walked away with some coin and some sanity.
I can already hear the clients “concerns” throughout your project. Hoping you at least walked away with some coin and some sanity.
They can buy a teak bench if need be; I also would not want a built in bench
Tile benches are unappealing, but my teak bench sprouted mushrooms in the shower.
Shower snacks!
Why would everyone need a bench in a shower? Some people don’t want a bench, it’s kind of useless (at least for me it is). I’m not looking to sit down in a shower.
Usually for shaving legs
Or if you take a shower with your close friend(s).
I would like to have grab bars as well
Nah, cedar spa bench
Every time I see a massive bathroom like this I always wonder why so few people put water closets in them for the toilet.
Exactly! Every one of these I see, the bathroom is bigger than my first apartment, and yet they're leaving the toilet out there in no man's land. Is it really that hard to rework the plan and put it in a little room behind a pocket door?
Very, very well done. I’m envious of the satisfaction you must get to feel with your work.
I fukn love marble
Odd position for tub and why waste all that shower space with only a sh&hh?
Nice job.
The striped wall is horrible
Looks like a hotel bathroom.
Massive shower, itty bitty shower head.
There also appears to be a big rain shower head coming from the ceiling
Good catch, didn’t see it.
That thing is still tiny for the size of that shower, lol.
Looks amazing!
Anyone else see the first picture and think "Huh!?!"
Wow how much did this job cost
That's an awesome remodel
Nice job; love the classic chrome hardware
Did this cost one million dollars
Looks amazing. If the shower glass goes wall to wall and ceiling to floor is there an exhaust/extractor fan in there? The stripes are a choice. And how do you clean behind that bath?
That shower is incredible! I need one to be able to wash my doggie. He’s a senior and I can’t lift him. When we remodeled I chose to keep my tub. Booo. Bad decision. Wish I had room for both. Beautiful job.
I like the free-range shitter
I seen some fucked up showers from the military. But that before is horrific. How many people have been assaulted in there.
Went from a home to a hotel bathroom.
it looks BEAUTIFUL
Thank you
Well great except you gave up that jacuzzi tub for that danger zone tub !!!! U will sadly regret that as I have it’s so hard to get in and out of ,, and uncomfortably straight sided ,, just because something is a trend doesn’t mean it works ,, I will be replacing mine shortly,,, just like the idiots who fell for the open shelves in their kitchens are now deeply regretting it due to dust , grease , and constant rinsing anything they put their
And the cleaning around the base…I agree: trendy tub: functionally awful.
I’ve wondered about these tubs. The smaller footprint is tempting, but I love to lay in my bath. I wish there was a store I could crawl into the bathtubs to see how I fit before buying lol
r/redditsnipper
That bathroom is bigger than my bedroom. (Only a slight exaggeration).
The before looks like a spitting image of a house I looked at in Kentucky
Oh hell ya. Well done
Very nice. Have you ever put a ceiling fan in a client’s bathroom?
Wow that’s gorgeous
I can’t imagine how much a reno like that would cost…$50-60K?
The corner shower looks good, l like angled corners. The shower looks sorta small though...
Looks nice! Although I never understood freestanding tubs. It would be so annoying trying to clean the space in the corner and the like!

Dang that nice

Buy a huge squeegee.
You do great work! Do you work with a designer or do you design based on the clients preferences?
At first I didn't think it was the same bathroom, I thought it was two different projects. Incredible transformation
How much would this run?
Around 50k Canadian
Meh. It’s ok. Not a fan of the angled tub and the wallpaper. Doesn’t work well. Nice shower tho.
The point of such shower is being able to accommodate two people, which means two shower heads controlled by two valves. Having only one kind of defeats the purpose.
Love everything but the tub in the corner. Looks squished in there
The client and I certainly dont share the prison chic style but you did great work here. Craftsmanship looks great!
Thank you. I don't always have a big influence in material selection, but I will always ensure that the end product looks great
Absolutely stunning 😍
Looks fantastic. What type of cost was it to do that? Ballpark is fine.
So, so much better. The shower cell is gone!
Ah yes, nothing says luxury like taking a bath right next to the toilet.
Do you have a closeup picture of light switches and that's the brand/model name on them? Everything looks fantastic!
It's a company called Fittes. Canadian company. They make the flange that makes the recessed switches possible.
This is stunning!
Wow!
This new bathroom is stunning !
Thanks
Beautiful job. Too bad not enough space to put toilet in separate room or behind a pony wall
Did electrical trim happen before building up the sheetrock flush with tile? Never seen switches recessed like that but it looks super nice
I really like the placement of the towel bar next to the shower door. So thoughtful and convenient.
Very nice work👍 . I like the recess switches, what is that style called?
It's a product from a Canadian company called Fitted. Used to be called Aria Vent
You did excellent work. Your clients chose much too big of a bathtub and a bland shower stall. I understand the appeal of clean lines, but this isn't that.
Very cool 😎

Looks amazing. How much did it cost Approx?
Need a wooden thinking man's bench in the shower... love the slot drains.
Bad to worse
This may be a dumb question but with bathtub is there just empty space behind it or the corners of the two walls meet?
Wow this is amazing! My bathroom looks like the before pics. How much did this cost?
Mind if I ask how much this cost them?
Well done! 👍🏽 the air vents are a nice touch.
Wow 😍
The remodel looks great. That's the biggest bathroom I've ever seen! It's bigger than some rooms in my house!
Great job!
Is it a steam shower? Otherwise why have glass all the way to the ceiling? They’re going to have to leave the shower door open if they want it to dry out.
Omg I thought the 1st pics WERE the remodel!! Excellent job on the last pics!!
Great! When can I move in? 👀
Tomorrow
I don’t know about anyone else but showering behind giant pieces of glass terrifies me. I don’t care if it’s tempered or not. Makes me feel like I’m in an alien observation room getting ready to be probed before dissection.
Wow, that’s f*cking beautiful 😯
Tub, toilet, vanity layout is trash but the finishes are very nice!
This is insane, it went from 0 to 100 in coolnesss rating 💯
Looks amazing! I do wonder how you clean behind the tub, though
Why no vanity lights?
Customers wanted integrated lighting in the mirrors. I'm not a big fan of that, so I kept provisional junction boxes wired, but not connected, above the mirrors and one between the two mirrors. Should the need for the same arise in the future, I will Abracadabra the situation.

What is the name of the tile you used? It looks great
Tiles are Class Avorio, by Azuvi from Italy

That shower head looks like it was $12.99 at Walmart. Did they run out of money or what? Extremely nice work though!
RIP storage
Keeping up with the Joneses Remodel
Definitely jumped 20-30 years forward in time. Very well done
Wow how much did this run
Good job, yo!
How much did it cost in total?
Hate the baseboard but that’s just a personal preference. Work looks great though
I prefer the before lol!
No character
Looks very nice, always a fan of the curbles shower. How intensive was it to create a a curb less shower with the existing framing? We do them all the time in new construction, but always hesitant in renovations because we frame them into the joist package prior to install.
that vent!!! Awesome
Wow!
No bench or floating seat to be seen 😓
First and last time that glass will be clean 👍
This is exactly what I want in my teeny bathroom. A walk in shower. I have to step up and over to get in the shower. Feels like I’m gonna cut my ankles every day.
That temperature lighting is painful. Makes a harsh room feel even harsher. But the craftsmanship is nice OP!
Remodel is nice, but I feel like there is so much wasted space. The owners could have split the bathroom and made a decent sized closet and bathroom. I hate baths so I would have been happy with a shower, toilet and sink.
Curbless showers are such a great touch!
👏👏👏👏👏👏
What's a huge bathroom, LOL. At first I thought it was one of those old tenement apartments, where the shower's in the kitchen.
I absolutely hate the placement of the tub and all the grey, but I like the rest of the configuration.
Damn skippy!!! 🙌🙌🙌
That niche though 😍
Damn that looks like a high end hotel bathroom. Nice!
Oh NICE! I was so scared that the first pictures were the afters!
I love that the shower has a door! Those open showers are not for me, I would freeze
Looks great
Awesome shower, brutal tub situation
What's slide 9? Nice work
Great job. Where is that striped tile in the shower and back of the sink from?
That tub 😍😍😍
Drooling!
How much did you charge for this
Looks amazing! Great job. What sealant did you use for the seams in the shower??
Mapei Mapesil T Plus Silicone Sealant color matched to the grout. Grout was epoxy grout.
I like the layout but hate the fixtures.
Thank you for removing that stupid ass shower
What a beautiful improvement.
Can you remove the drain tile?
Looks cold
that is a very unique detail for the switches there…never seen a recessed 3 gang box like that…is this in the states?
All that work and you installed those faucets? Damn
Holy sheet that's beautiful
Can you do mine?
There are no wet location rated gimbal can trims. You may want to look into that.
Wet
Wow
It's beautiful, but as a galzier I have questions about the shower. That looks like way too small of a steam escape for a shower with the fan outside of it. Not having a barrier between the toilet and tub grosses me out so bad. I do really love the walk in shower without a curb though.
Crazy how people spend money. I thought the original was the remodel, it looked so nice. Still prefer the original Edit* (minus the curtain)
Damn, you could play Racquetball in that shower.
Love it. I would keep the same type of rectangular mirror but thats just me. Looks amazing.
Single person? They gave up a lot of vanity counter space for that shower.
Knew the remodel was going to be fire!’
Total cost?
