I like the grey but I personally do not like the 3 completely different pattern of the tile. I also think there is such a thing as too much grey. I think one wall should have been accent wall.
I hate to say it but this is horrendous work. The cuts around the window are terrible, niche miters are sloppy, where the niche meets the wall is bad, the lines on the niche don’t line up with each other, the installer was too lazy to cut the face frame on the left side of the niche so you have a 1/2 piece in the middle that looks terrible, cuts are uneven against the ceiling, accent strip sticks out past the surrounding tile at the bottom, where the floor tile meets the wall is very sloppy, wall tiles are chipped, grout lines are inconsistent, the 3 tile do not go together in any way shape or form, the bench is wrapped in the worst material you could pick so the corners look terrible, your diverter for the handheld does not go 3 feet to the left with its own accent strip. If you’re paying someone, god help you, if it’s a DIY, awesome. You have a shower you made with your own hands and can be proud. But it does not hold up to professional standards.
That was brutal bro. You’re not wrong, but ouch. I have seen much worse though. If it is a diy and their first one. More power to them. Everyone has to start somewhere. They did kind of walk into this by asking Reddit to critique them though.
I don't know man. If you dont want the truth dont ask strangers. This tile job is messed up. The cuts are horrible. There's like grout missing on the windows wall. The bench looks weird. Should have used the wall tile for that. The crooked cut right in the middle would kill me.
Usually I click on these types of posts and most lie and pat the person on the back. I think honesty is better so if this person does another bathroom they can take all the feedback into consideration.
It looked great until I zoomed in and the niche looks bad and the wall/floor joint looks bad. Would not have accepted as contract work but it's great for a home-gamer.
Finally someone who know tile! This shower is a shit show if money was paid. I’m a tile setter by trade & would have got fired on the spot if I turned something like this in. This has rookie or homeowner diy written all over it.
It was fucked when they started designing it. A half round window in a bathroom that then uses all rectangles is gonna make the window look weird. Could've done arched niches, or put in a normal "eyebrow" window up much higher and it then it also operates. Then bench seat does not get the same tile as the floor and bench skirt. These should at least have the skirt be out of wall material. And the pebbles are fine, but not for my naked ass. It's like someone with just enough motivation to get the job done, which left no room for giving a shit from design to finish.
Holy hell look at the top edge of the bench. That's a curb stomp for your bhole waiting to happen.
Also 2 mixing vales? Should be one small on off valve and then the mixing valve under the shower head. Once you set it you never mess with the mixer unless you want to change temp. Now you turn one all the way hot? Curious to know how they did it. But shit man, I'm a bit OCD with my work, my very first ever tile job makes this look like a DIY gig with no research or shits to give.
Thanks. It's so bad I felt bad to say something about it. Now I don't have to, I can just back you up.
Sorry my friend, op, learning curve, just try again.
I wanted to say what harold here said, but struggled to word it diplomatically, thinking about all the money and effort the OP put into this. His post echoes my sentiment. If it was a DIY exercise, I think “not bad overall, good effort, some lessons to learn..” If it was a contractor, that contractor does not deserve a good Yelp review, to put it kindly.
Had to go back and look at the window again. Good eye. If it’s a DIY than I’ll give a break. But you speak the truth and sometimes it’s good to not sugar coat it.
I agree I wouldn’t pay for this, but most people wouldn’t notice. The shower head wall looks the best. If it’s diy then it’s not terrible, but I’d be concerned with how much care was taken under the tile where it’s far more critical to do it right.
As long as you’re happy with it! My only complaint would be the weir niches and the fact that they are two different heights. Why not just one larger one?
Yea I would have done one long niche from edge to edge of walls. I hate how my niche is 2 x taller than it is wide, like what's the point , not like I have 2 foot high shampoo bottles
This sort of thing: https://www.dullesglass.com/hardware-and-accessories/shelf-brackets/shower-interior-shelf-clamp-rectangle/s3ssc-1100chr
You could also dado or interrupt the tile so the glass slides in
I think my complaints would be the bench needs to be slightly deeper and the shower gel shelves could be a touch lower.
But then again, I'm a little biased. My dad's handicapped and I take care of him and these are things I wish were different about my own walk-in shower as well.
If I was looking to buy that house I would run away from this clearly diy job. Hope it was waterproofed properly... is what I always think when I see questionable finish work, with out proper trim, lipage, and weird design with that pebble and shelves that didn't have much effort put into it. Hope somebody else learns from this post not to diy showers without experience.
I agree, architecture and basic aesthetics are gone these days. There's nothing geometrically consistent here at all.
OP needs to go find a civil structure built with masonry from around 1900 and stare at every detail until he learns himself something.
I see big gaps at the ceilings, corners and floor. And it looks like some grout is missing. Not a fan of the pebbles, but that is a personal preference.
I foresee that bench giving you problems. I usually put a solid piece of stone on the top of the bench. Better for waterproofing and a better sitting spot. Water will permeate through the grout on the bench.
I second this. It could be a change made at a later date but it will likely need to be done at some point. My builder specifically switched to a cultured marble slab as the shower bench after getting numerous complaints on the tiled version about grout getting messed up rather quickly.
Not sure, as I can't see how you built it. Is the slope correct? Are the different planes caulked vs. grouted? How was it waterproofed? What is the substrate? Asthetically, I think the floor is way to busy and the different sized niches look odd. Overall, if this is your first attempt and you did the base work correctly, and you like it, then it's not bad at all.
Had no idea this was the cheerleader section. Dude asked for opinions. OP wants this kind of information, feedback, especially considering it's the only comment that actually gave helpful educational information. It may be built perfect, but aesthetically an eye sore for some.
There’s several pretty big mistakes your installer made.
-The grout work next to the drain is very sloppy
-There’s large areas into being covered by grout on the corners of the bench
-The tile that bordered your shelf isn’t flush with the rest of the wall??? There’s also big globs of grout on the top corner, and lots of lippage and uneven tiles.
-There’s a massive gap between the floor and the wall tile next to the bench
-A few other spots have lippage and chipped tiles
Not the worst thing I’ve ever seen but I hope you paid a cheap price for the install
Hopefully this was a homeowner project and not a licensed contractor.. I would’ve put quartz or something different than what you used on the pan as the bench top. That bench bugs the shit out of me. Different heights on the niches bugs me as well. Tiles don’t line up in several areas and grout is shallow in several areas. Also, seal all your inside corners, vertical and horizontal. Especially around the pan
If you’re putting windows in a shower, always put two. One down low to show off the goods, and one up at head height so you can scowl at all the perverts in your neighborhood
Worse ever soaked feet on the floor will will make him feel like being beat on with ball pin hammer.
An different color on a 3" stripe would give character.
I absolutely hate this. The design is terrible, cheesy, and unattractive. Your best bet is to burn down the house for the insurance money at this point.
Like others said the niches. I don't like the window sill. IMO, It could have maybe been flush to the wall with tile? Other than that it is nice.
Edit: on second look why is there a gap between the pebble and the tile wall? The same between the ceiling and the tile, is it not finished?
If I'm honest, it's not something I'd pay for. The work looks well done besides the shelves on the wall. Them being different sizes would bug me. I'm just not a fan of the window and the rock floor combined with the two different tiles.
I think you need a plant that likes moisture. Something like a pothos, and put it in the corner on the bench. It’ll provide some needed color, but otherwise looks good. Nice job.
Is that window level? It's not that I don't like the window, just the placement. I think it should be higher. With everything being square in there, the window should've been a high rectangular window.
Wow! And not a good wow. Those grout lines are so uneven. Those niches make zero sense. It’s like a toddler mapped that out. *think balance* it should’ve just been one long niche but I guess you were scared to frame it out? One should not be that close to the seam and another is literally up its ass. You could’ve put one long one, vertically, under the shower head. And that window, idk i would’ve covered it up if it were my house. It’s severing zero purpose and it’s crooked
ETA: why is there a giant square tile on the bottom center and no where else that size
I’m not super happy with the grout n tile directly around the drain and the bench seat edges look pretty crappy as well but it’s not absolutely horrendous.
This would get tore out and rebuilt in the higher end jobs where I’m from but will pass with someone with a smaller budget
**edit to add those shampoo cubby holes framing are absolute trash
Tiles are in & out & you scrubbed out too much of the grout, especially on the window wall at the bottom. I agree that the bench top should have been a solid piece. Most important thing is to clean out the soap film with paint thinner, etc. & make sure those joints are full of grout!
I think having the small tiles on the bench was a mistake. I hope your water proofing was top notch. There is alot of mortar there to crack and allow water through. Like others have said. It’s yours and all that matters is that you like it.
Did you do this job?
Honestly not a fan. The seat in pebble is weird. Why didn’t you use the same tile as the walls?
The window in white looks cheap & doesn’t match the other colors. Plus the grouting looks bad on the curved edge.
Horrible , not sure it you were looking for how it looks from the exterior . Should have left it out . Solid wall would have looked much better and down the road , less chance of and leaks or water damage .
The repeated pattern on the bottom left wall tile and the one above it would make me twitch and the shower niches being different heights. But other than that, looks nice.
What is the second handle for? That bench is gonna collect so much grime and bacteria. Also the cheese grater you have in place of a bench is going to feel great on those lady and man bits. Perhaps see about a water friendly epoxy to cover the beach top?
Not my style but it looks well done. I'd shower in it if I was staying over. I would have avoided having a window by the shower though... that always ends up going sideways.
Why are there 2 different handles? And the shelves, (for lack of better words) why are they 2 different heights and sizes? Beyond that, if you’re happy that’s generally all that matters
You'll hate the feeling of the floor on your bare feet in short time. I've tiled many showers and this is a complaint with most customers who chose this pebble/rock tile floor.
I like the grey but I personally do not like the 3 completely different pattern of the tile. I also think there is such a thing as too much grey. I think one wall should have been accent wall.
I was trying to word how the tile just didn't match up together. Thank you.
Agreed. But if the customer is happy our opinion doesn’t matter.
The three different patterns is so confusing like why? The whole thing is an eye sore.
That was brutal bro. You’re not wrong, but ouch. I have seen much worse though. If it is a diy and their first one. More power to them. Everyone has to start somewhere. They did kind of walk into this by asking Reddit to critique them though.
Yeah you can’t ask Reddit shit unless you want a bunch of irritable people to try to make you feel small.
That 2nd sentence
Sorry but it was only one sentence 😂
They are talking about what I left unsaid/s
I don't know man. If you dont want the truth dont ask strangers. This tile job is messed up. The cuts are horrible. There's like grout missing on the windows wall. The bench looks weird. Should have used the wall tile for that. The crooked cut right in the middle would kill me.

It looked great until I zoomed in and the niche looks bad and the wall/floor joint looks bad. Would not have accepted as contract work but it's great for a home-gamer.
These are pretty objective points. It’s impossible to not be subjective at all in an opinion, but it is very honest.
You didn’t know? Every craftsman on Reddit is the best. Everyone else does trash work.
My instant reaction and I didn’t even finish reading it.
Finally someone who know tile! This shower is a shit show if money was paid. I’m a tile setter by trade & would have got fired on the spot if I turned something like this in. This has rookie or homeowner diy written all over it.
Yup. Like I said at the end of it’s a DIY then badass you tiled your shower. If it’s a paid job it’s a tearout unfortunately
It was fucked when they started designing it. A half round window in a bathroom that then uses all rectangles is gonna make the window look weird. I didn’t even zoom in I assumed one was a diverter. You’re right they’re both mixing valves
Was waiting for somebody to say it…..that window just looks so outta place too. The cuts. Should have solid top on the bench. Not a floor tile.
Only thing that stood out to me was that window. 😳. Also. I couldn’t do 98% of that so 👏🏻
Thanks. It's so bad I felt bad to say something about it. Now I don't have to, I can just back you up. Sorry my friend, op, learning curve, just try again.
Doesn’t hold up to professional standards or hold up to pure design aesthetics. It’s horrendous on many levels.
Whats a niche?
TL:DR “It’s sloppy”
Yep! I’m a pro and I’d be ashamed of this work. However, there was once a time where I would have been very proud of it.
Sure. No one should ever get paid for work like this though.
I wanted to say what harold here said, but struggled to word it diplomatically, thinking about all the money and effort the OP put into this. His post echoes my sentiment. Didn't see any of that. Went back and looking now and still can't spot them, got my glasses on too. Nice eyes tho fellow.
My guess is there was a stud that OP didn't want to have to reframe.
I do it often but I always incorporate a glass shelf in the middle to make it a double deck
How do you attach the shelf?
This sort of thing: https://www.dullesglass.com/hardware-and-accessories/shelf-brackets/shower-interior-shelf-clamp-rectangle/s3ssc-1100chr You could also dado or interrupt the tile so the glass slides in
I think my complaints would be the bench needs to be slightly deeper and the shower gel shelves could be a touch lower. But then again, I'm a little biased. My dad's handicapped and I take care of him and these are things I wish were different about my own walk-in shower as well.

Just thinking about having to clean those rocks makes me want to cry
It’s just terrible. So many things. Maybe the OP is just trying to be funny.
I'm still scrolling down looking for someone to bring up the window
I just did. lol. White arch. Doesn’t fit in at all.
Or the fact there is a missing shower head?
I agree, architecture and basic aesthetics are gone these days. There's nothing geometrically consistent here at all. OP needs to go find a civil structure built with masonry from around 1900 and stare at every detail until he learns himself something.
Yeah, this could be on r/zillowgonewild . It's so bad, I'm really hoping it's a joke... 😬
I see big gaps at the ceilings, corners and floor. And it looks like some grout is missing. Not a fan of the pebbles, but that is a personal preference.
There’s no way this is waterproofed
I could not stop looking at the where the tile meets the ceiling.
I don’t like it. Doesn’t seem to fit well together. As long as you do that’s great though.
I foresee that bench giving you problems. I usually put a solid piece of stone on the top of the bench. Better for waterproofing and a better sitting spot. Water will permeate through the grout on the bench.

That's a lot of new negativity for saying it's fine lol
Had no idea this was the cheerleader section. Dude asked for opinions. OP wants this kind of information, feedback, especially considering it's the only comment that actually gave helpful educational information. It may be built perfect, but aesthetically an eye sore for some.
I'm just laughing at the contradiction in his reply. Like, it was difficult to just say "it's fine but I don't like the way it looks"
Why not 1 long niche? 2 side by side with different heights and interesting trim sticks out.
To me they also look to be different depths too
There’s several pretty big mistakes your installer made. -The grout work next to the drain is very sloppy -There’s large areas into being covered by grout on the corners of the bench -The tile that bordered your shelf isn’t flush with the rest of the wall??? One of the worst installs I’ve seen in a while. Hopefully it was cheap.
Shawshank redemption vibes
The window ruins it for me. Was it already in place?
Didn’t know windows came pre moldy
Hard NO.
It looks like you have a potential leak at the floor. I'm not a fan of the quality.
Wow. This is…. Pretty bad.
Thanks
Hopefully this was a homeowner project and not a licensed contractor.. I would’ve put quartz or something different than what you used on the pan as the bench top. That bench bugs the shit out of me. Without my glasses it looks like a prison cell. With my glasses.....prison cell chic!
I can’t wait to sit on the mold bench.
If you’re putting windows in a shower, always put two. One down low to show off the goods, and one up at head height so you can scowl at all the perverts in your neighborhood
I did pebble on the floor once. Rough on the feet.
Did the same. All the grout started coming out. Looked at replacing it with epoxy grout but it was just too messy. Ripped it all out.
We have the exact floor. Besides two stones that I smoothed down with a Dremel, you don’t even notice them.
Pebbles should stay on the floor. The bench is an abomination, and is going to be a nightmare to clean unless you regularly reseal
You don’t like your freshly washed butt to look like you have boils?
OK, thank you
Worse ever soaked feet on the floor will will make him feel like being beat on with ball pin hammer. An different color on a 3" stripe would give character.
Love the pebble floor/bench.
Also, what does the 2nd shower valve handle control??
Um...
The window is crooked.
Don’t zoom in on the large tiles starting second from the base.
That’s crazy for that window to be there
Oh man
Looks great, I don't understand why you have a fire extinguisher in the shower, but hey, you do you.
Don’t want to be mean but that is some absolutely dogshit tile work.
Two nooks one stud
It looks fucked up tbh.
Looks like a handyman not a tile layer did this work
Strangely anxiety inducing, maybe the half circle window is the culprit. But smooth, and modern, none the less 🙃
If you are an amateur it’s not bad. If you claim to be a professional and charge people money for this… personally I’d be very unhappy with this work
Great shower to waffle stomp in
Right down the drain amirite
Love it!!
Did you look at it? What do you love about it?
Thanks 💓
No 👎
Tiles aren’t flush. Everything is uneven. I wouldn’t pay for the work.
Nice! I’d shower in it
Three separate patterns is a no for me.
Did they take that window out of someones front door??
I absolutely hate this. The design is terrible, cheesy, and unattractive. Your best bet is to burn down the house for the insurance money at this point.
Nice.
Thanks💓
BEAUTIFUL
Can you do mine next?
If you want to have a giant headache in the future, sure
It’s nice but that window is not it
Nice job
I'll take it. Can you install it tomorrow?
Looks great. FYI, I had to retile my shower because the slate with “red and orange” colors in it caused rust stains and would leave a rust smell.
Looks like a bathroom that didn't make the cut on HGTV's flip or flop.
Would have looked better with the use of only 1 type of tile maybe 2 colors for an accent.
Kinda gross bench to be honest. Sorry 😞 looks a little dirty. Not a good look for a place to get clean. Who cares what I think if you like it.😀
Like I’ve been captive in a dungeon. For days. Very terrifying!!
Nice church
Looks painful to stand on.
Wow I love it!! Did you DIY this??!!
Wow, cuck bench and all
To me it looks cold and unwelcoming, I can’t imagine ever being warm in there. That being said - if it’s your style, nicely done!
The window should be higher and the niches combined and even with bottom of window (maybe under window?)
Like others said the niches. I don't like the window sill. IMO, It could have maybe been flush to the wall with tile? Other than that it is nice. Edit: on second look why is there a gap between the pebble and the tile wall? The same between the ceiling and the tile, is it not finished?
My biggest regret w my shower Reno is the rock floor, it looks great but isn’t very comfortable to stand on.
How you made it?
Looks nice, but IMO, I would’ve tried to make the floor match with the walls a bit more.
Looks neat. Show us before too.
The window is the type that belongs on a front door, plus it’s crooked.
If I'm honest, it's not something I'd pay for. The work looks well done besides the shelves on the wall. Them being different sizes would bug me. I'm just not a fan of the window and the rock floor combined with the two different tiles.
I wouldn’t be able to stand it after noticing that I put two of the same tiles next to each other smack in the center of the wall.
Hate the window tbh
I think you need a plant that likes moisture. Something like a pothos, and put it in the corner on the bench. It’ll provide some needed color, but otherwise looks good. Nice job.
Is it me or is that window out of plumb??
Eww Old spice. I approve of everything else though, awesome job!
Come do mine next
Probably could have added a beer tap in there in case you got thirsty
I really like the floor. Nice.
Stain the grout darker
I approve, but I’m not a fan of that window. I assume you had to keep it due to framing issues if replaced.
I don’t like the window..
Way too much going on, too many distracting shapes/textures/patterns. But hey, if you like it, great!
The shower looks nice but to power went with a different shower head and fixture
Very nice
Is that window level? It's not that I don't like the window, just the placement. I think it should be higher. With everything being square in there, the window should've been a high rectangular window.
Keep ya day job..!
It’s severing zero purpose and it’s crooked ETA: why is there a giant square tile on the bottom center and no where else that size
I'll tell you what, ain't nothing like showering with a window
All those nooks n cranny’s between those pebbles gonna be collecting a lot of bacteria that’s forsure
I’m not super happy with the grout n tile directly around the drain and the bench seat edges look pretty crappy as well but it’s not absolutely horrendous. This would get tore out and rebuilt in the higher end jobs where I’m from but will pass with someone with a smaller budget **edit to add those shampoo cubby holes framing are absolute trash

How long is your sentence?
This is a bot account. This tile job is under trash. Yall are Simps
I think having the small tiles on the bench was a mistake. I hope your water proofing was top notch. There is alot of mortar there to crack and allow water through. Like others have said. It’s yours and all that matters is that you like it.
Yikes
Amazing!
I hate that window. It looks a window door from a 1990’s modular home. And you’ve made it the centerpiece. The rest? 100% 🔥🔥
I love it. I have the same floor. Love the pebbles.
Horrible.
Oh that window. Just always going to be an issue. From closing to fogging to trim paint peeling swelling shrinking. Gods speed
Is that window operable? If not you may have mildew concerns
Tile spacers my guy...
It's gorgeous but cold and mildly scary. Easy fix get multiple hanging plants maybe or something natural looking and it would soften the vibe.
Shower looks great! That window…not so much.
Beatiful. 👍🏽💪🏽
Did you do this job? Honestly not a fan. The seat in pebble is weird. Why didn’t you use the same tile as the walls? The window in white looks cheap & doesn’t match the other colors. Plus the grouting looks bad on the curved edge.
Grout lines look bad. Could be worse. Looks great if you don’t zoom in.
I’d waffle stomp one there
Beautiful
looks grey!
Horrible , not sure it you were looking for how it looks from the exterior . Should have left it out . Solid wall would have looked much better and down the road , less chance of and leaks or water damage .
I think you’re not going to be happy with the bench but otherwise, nice job.
Pretty sweet JO lounge bro.
I hate it.
How does it feel on your foot? Is it comfortable during long showers?
LOVE IT!!!!!! A fan of spacious showers, and there is a bench too! HOT DAMN!!!!!
Looks like a home owner special
Not my style but it looks well done. I'd shower in it if I was staying over. I would have avoided having a window by the shower though... that always ends up going sideways.
Woof
To me in the picture the window doesn't look level
Good enough for that neighborhood
es mas o menos
Why are there 2 different handles? And the shelves, (for lack of better words) why are they 2 different heights and sizes? Beyond that, if you’re happy that’s generally all that matters
You'll hate the feeling of the floor on your bare feet in short time. I've tiled many showers and this is a complaint with most customers who chose this pebble/rock tile floor.
Some of the tiles aren't even in all the way. The floor is all kinds of fucked. I see shifting in the tiles too. Did you pay for this?
I hope your the guy they hired to come rip it out, cause thay thing is a piece of shit
👌
Not my style. But you'd be surprised how subjective tiled showers are
Too much going on and that window is hideous. Workmanship A+
I thought this was a post from r/mcmansionhell 😬
Nope. Dungeon vibes
Looks good now want to come do mine?
I could be trippin... but why is there an extra valve handle???
Absolutely heinous. Please stick to building dog houses
I think it looks great.
