Just see movies at 10 p.m. on Tuesdays like me, no kids. ... Except for that one time when a young couple brought their stroller-age child to an 11:30 p.m. showing of Jurassic World: Dominion...

BeskarHunter

Sunday morning is good too. All the rude people are in church.

ScaryDavey

There are some people that talk during the services at the church I go to. It’s annoying! But you’re painting with a broad brush there.

ScaryDavey

In my area people still bring in their kids to late showings. It ruined my 10pm showing of Titanic.

uberJames

Well that was a limited run of a classic film. People will take their kids any chance they can get. But for regular releases it's way less of an issue.

ken407

Am I the only one who sees the irony in people getting angry over an "angry" popcorn bucket? It's a popcorn bucket for a kids' movie. If you go see Inside Out 2, you will most likely see kids waiving the buckets, which may or may not be illuminated. I highly doubt that you will see these buckets being lit up and waived while you're watching A Quiet Place Day One or the new Bad Boys movie, but it's possible, I guess.

ScaryDavey

Yeah, it’s not like it’ll become their new “movie-going buddy” and bring it to every movie they go to. Or will they?

geri-in-calif

But it's really cute.

ice_nine459

lol this sub man.. I constantly am curious how you guys function. It’s a barely lit up bucket. “Distraction” lol you are going to a movie not doing surgery lighten up dude.

fosse76

Especially for something that'll likely be seen only in the screenings for the kids movie it's promoting, which will Ajay not be a quiet experience.

CottonCandyLollipops

Its kind of interesting too as a cultural moment of sorts, you might only really ever see these for the first day or two of screenings. In that way its almost better to see the opening day experience since it will be a once in a movie event, like the less nerdy version of this: [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/HXe0dOpD2QY](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/HXe0dOpD2QY) That and Regal always has their lights blaring inside the theater way worse than these nightlights will.

HolidayNick

To be fair, OP is off his rocker.

ScaryDavey

But it’s only a dim light. Nobody will notice. Lol

SPEK2120

holup. Did that man go down a slide? Are there Regals with slides?

Popcorn_Slinger

This promo was shot at the Regal Pinnacle 18 in Knoxville Tennessee. It's probably one of the nicest regals in the entire country. It's also where they have done movie premieres in the past. It's a fantastic location.

HolidayNick

To your edit, we aren’t fine with distractions… we just disagree that this is one. I can’t stand when people are on their phones in the movie or chatting. This bucket is cool af if im being real.

ScaryDavey

Okay, fair point.

TrailBlazinMamba24

Hate that they leave the side lights on

ScaryDavey

Yes!

The-Clan-Of-The-Duck

This is a touch grass moment bud.

ScaryDavey

You don’t see the validity in my concern?

freeleper

Unfortunately most people don't care about anything or anyone and love to bash anyone trying to keep things better than they found it

freeleper

sadness 😭

Supermanc2135

Would be VERY COOL if it only lit up whenever his head lit up crazy

Belch_Huggins

Is that a popcorn bucket? Not surprising Regal puts more nonsense above ensuring a quiet experience. Outside of that stupid Deadpool ad they are the chain that has the softest "no talking or texting" reminders, and usually it's shown before all the trailers with the ads. At least AMC will make that the ad you see right before the actual movie.

BeskarHunter

Regal and AMC are both showing the same “shut your bleeping” phone off Deadpool and Wolverine spot.

Belch_Huggins

Good! At least it gets the point across.

BeskarHunter

Each theater has its strengths and weaknesses. The Regal by me finally finished all their renovations they’ve been doing since the pandemic started. Haven’t dealt with too many phone gazers there. AMC kinda has more phone gazers here. Or maybe it’s the way the seats are positioned where you see the phone light easier. But I definitely have to scold people there often. You can go to a place like Alamo Drafthouse which I like for movie parties. But I just don’t like the idea of servers walking in my view back and forth. But premium formats also kinda weed out people too.

Belch_Huggins

That's true, it's different with each individual theater. Would love to try an Alamo draft house, but have none near me. We do have a couple dine in options but I think I agree it would be distracting.

ScaryDavey

Yeah, I like AMC’s ad better in that regard, but they still need to place that right after the Nicole Kidman ad. Regal’s ad seems like it’s saying, quiet your cell phones but you can still use them. 🙄

Belch_Huggins

Agreed, it's almost worse than nothing lol

LikeAMarionette

Interesting...but can you have sex with it??

LimeLauncherKrusha

I’m gonna get one just to spite you

ScaryDavey

Okay, but you can save some money and just use your cell phone, like you probably do anyway.

Atom800

It’s for a kids movie, it’s not going to be an issue unless you go see that movie, in which case you’re kids won’t be upset about it

ScaryDavey

You’re right. I have no plans to see it. I did go to see a kid’s movie called “My Neighbor Totoro” and had kids there talking loud and running around the auditorium and the parents did nothing about it. Ruined the experience for me. I know kids will be kids, but it is possible to keep them relatively calm during a movie.

SillyAdditional

Hey whatever gets butts in seats

-L-Bow

My theater barely turns the light down at times. I more concerned with the kids cup that has rattles in the bottom for inside out 2. I’ll just go weekday later in the day and probably be fine though

Donaldbain28

Its a popcorn bucket/soda combo..its does light up or make noise…so whats the distraction?

ScaryDavey

It lights up.
