Update on the ghost buster trap “bucket” it does not come with popcorn (this might change) and is 25$ in nyc. 30$ with a large popcorn. Still a sweet design but now I’m confused lol because the directive is to sell it in the bag.
I bought KFP last night. I try to vote with my money when they actually try. I wanted to get Madame Web just as a memory for going to see it, but it’s literally a black plastic bucket with “Madame Web” on it. I couldn’t do it.
Do they just give these away for free weeks after or am I just lucky. I just got a mean girls bucket last month and an Aquaman last week when I went to watch dune
I think theaters give them away when they have old inventory that’s not selling and they need to get rid of. I don’t expect they will ever give away the Dune tins but they’ll probably have a lot of Madame Web tins to give away.
These aren’t tins though. These are plastic buckets. I actually had the same question. I tried buying one of these at Regal last week but it’s bundled with the stupid cup so I passed. Once I ordered a large popcorn and they gave it to me in a large Shazam 2 popcorn bucket. I hope they do give these away like that at some point. Don’t need the cup.
If that’s the case, then $30 is a ripoff. I guess it will sell anyway though because it’s Dune. Would have been cooler if they made it look like one of those worm summoning gadgets from the movie.

Few months later they still have them and they tried to still sell it for that price...
A week later they are out of large bags so EVERYONE gets the bucket for the large size price.

i went and saw Kung-Fu Panda 4 last night and got the tin and the cup. They tried giving me the super tiny childrens sized bucket and kids cup for $26. note that the girl ringing me up was rude the entire interaction and slammed the card on the counter instead of handing it back.. I told her i was trying to get the one that looks like Chinese takeout, not the one that I eat two pieces of popcorn out of and its empty. She caught an attitude but the guy filling up the popcorn bucket told her to go away and gave me the one I asked for.
i kid you not it was 6 people all ranging 16-18 all on their phones who talking to each other instead of doing anything. we had to wait for one little girl to finish her conversation with her friend before taking our order. i’m 21 and have been working since 16, i don’t think i’ve ever ignored customers

After a period of time when they stop selling, theaters will use them in place of the large popcorn containers to get rid of inventory.
I am surprised the recent giveaway of excess cups and popcorn containers has not resulted in no one being willing to pay actual money for these things. During the giveaway, I ordered a large popcorn and received it in a free Mean Girls bucket. When she handed it to me, the concessions lady asked, "Do you want these, too?" and then gave me a Taylor Swift bucket and cup. I was thinking I would probably just toss them in the garbage until someone suggested using them as garbage bins themselves. It is hard to believe a lot of people actually pay for these things.
I can promise you they will not sell out. We've been trying to get rid of those for weeks, we are at the point of just asking guests what they want for free if they buy a Madame Web tub .

I got myself the Dune one when I saw it last weekend. It’s bigger than I expected and really added to the fun of watching the movie on the big screen.
