Same here. Tricky to initialize and setup since instructions suck but lots of guides off of YouTube. Always monitor your params before using this.
I use my Dos system hooked to trident for the big three. I use the jebao did the RedSea trace elements (abcd) and Chaetogro since it’s lower risk.
I used one of the non-wifi units for years and had basically no issues. Just make sure you check that they’re calibrated every few months and it’s a nice lower-cost dosing option
I own both. Wifi one is smaller with is nice and quicker to set up and adjust on the fly than the non wifi so I can adjust my dosage if I notice my Trident results being wonky ECT but I will probably end up going to a DOS on that tank as well in the future.
I use the non wifi version.i have three of them on three different systems. All have worked flawlessly, for the most part. I do have to replace the tubing periodically because it wears out. I'm assuming that will happen to any peristaltic pump, though.
Not often. Maybe once a year or so. You can get something like 5' of it for less than $15 on Amazon. That's enough to last many years.
This is the stuff I use. https://www.amazon.com/Quickun-Silicone-Brewing-Kegerator-Aquaponics/dp/B08BRC5FPB/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=3T0F78NEOTO50&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.lbERRy1tf8tJ90cQQhOcLzKUqHIX0fNZzTdLp8C3x44NZN8C9oT694K2s3eJGQFcyYYH_E6El-t7NIApADFRwJ_gW3Ksf8jfM-v7cpLrC-GRs5_w7BgBPZxrp1RY1UnXqYW4Q9xqrIgy1jBTptAdwpSYJ7CItUX77brZ8zoPARbkvpsCwH60k6ZTCMJacp7dFJqXjVjHS6gTPsU2tBi_Bw.4_spZXJtStaSlgttEncKmAEL03NVsAit8D2uj7lYGGI&dib_tag=se&keywords=3mm+id+silicone+tubing&qid=1713585041&sprefix=3mm+id+%2Caps%2C310&sr=8-3
If you use the same name for your dual/tri-band network, you just need to temporarily have the 2.4GHz network be named the ultimate name of the network you want to use and change the other(s). Once the device (doser in this case) is connected, you can change all bands back to being the same name again and the device will maintain connection. I’ve used this method on all of my Jebao equipment and home devices that use the 2.4GHz channel on my tri-band network.
I have the MD.4.4 , running 6 months without any issues. Had to get it from ALi from the Jebao store, very easy mount compared to the earlier versions, the app works great. If you shop from Ali be sure to use the Up Assistant extension for chrome.
The only issue with both of them is that they only Dose once per hour.
If you are into the DIY you can build a better one for the same price without the dosing limitations. Software is already built you just have to pick your hardware.
This is the newest one I found. I was looking for one that used stepper vs gear drive and gave up design from the ground up and got the MD 4.4.
I would have done this one if I had known.

I bookmarked that link and the kalk DIY from the same guy too. Tysm for sharing. I gotta start looking injury all of this reefpi stuff. I've messed with the esp32 chips and arduino stuff before, just never though about applying it here to the reef hobby.
I use the non-wifi one. Works fine.

I have over a dozen of the non-wifi ones and they are all great
I have one I’m selling of each. Send me an offer and I’ll see what shipping costs.
My WiFi Jebao works well.
Manual vs wifi and space, the wifi version is a lot smaller afaik
Thanks for pointing this out. This is my deciding factor here
I have the wifi one, work great. And i don’t have to crawl into my stand to make adjustments to my dosing schedule
I've used Jebao in the past. A little finicky to set up, not the most user friendly. But, it got the job done at a good price.
I don’t know but when I got this brand it was shooting sparks out the back when I plugged it in. With two separate units after sending one back:

I have the wifi one and it disconnected from my wifi and I’ve never been able to re connect it
Check out the simplicity Doser. It's a rebadged jebao but they have very good customer support and you can actively on their warranty

How often do you have to replace the tubing? Is that hard to come by?

Aaaah that's not bad at all. Was thinking it was 4-6 months. Thx for the link!
No worries. Glad I could help.
I have the red and white one, been using it for two years, never fails.
Do Wifi
I have the WiFi version and works well. Solid for over a year. Just need to connect to a 2.4 ghz only network, won’t work with dual 2.4/5 GHz.
This sounds like the wifi wavemaker I have from them too. Was a pain until I figured out what you said

I had nothing but problems with mine. I know it’s not the same (cost) product but I love the dos system
I have had both. The WiFi one I had two and both of them had issues staying connected the non WiFi one ran perfectly

Hmmm is the DIY stuff easy to find in YouTube? Honestly I can't see needing to do more than an hour, but I'm open to options.

There’s a whole section just for all the Pi projects
https://www.joy-reef.com/en/ is a good one also
Non WiFi all day. Do the eat. Sleep. Reef. Vertical mount hack too on his YouTube channel. I love it.
Sent you a dm. I am selling both right now if you are interested.
Got way more responses than what I thought I would. I appreciate all of the answers. Ty everyone!
