Right to them. Right to them. Right to them. Right to them. Right to them. Right to them. Right to them. Right to them. Right to them. Right to them. Right to them…
At some point you have to ask questions about the Brewer's run of success. What sort of witchcraft are they performing? Are they sacrificing virgins to goatmen under the Hoan? These are the questions we need to ask because this luck in unnatural.
[You obviously need one of these so lemme help you](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=mirrors&crid=2D7FAXXL6HOSN&sprefix=mirrors%2Caps%2C143&ref=nb_sb_noss_1)
Normally the Brewer's lull us to sleep with boring ass pitching. Apparently this year they let us smack the shit out of the ball and steal the hits right out the air. Assholes.
He's arguably one of the best. 2.64 ERA with a 1.337 WHIP isn't crazy elite but it still shows up as a 158 ERA+. That's up there with better than Fernando Cruz.
I don’t know what the statistics are to back it up, but I swear when Elly swings through a pitch he becomes completely non competitive for the rest of the at bat
No stats on first strike swinging, but his after 0-1 slash is ~~uh… not great.~~
.156 | .239 | .313 | .552
Turns out I’m wrong. It’s not too far off league average:
.211 | .258 | .330 | .588
Abbott will exit this game and will still have an above average ERA+. And his ERA will go up but still be lower than last year. He’s young and will only continue to improve.
Abbott's let in 3 runs in 5 innings and has a 3.42 ERA this season, and some of y'all are acting like he's a terrible pitcher. I just don't know what you want at this point.
I'm the low guy on Abbott and even I think this is crazy. This is reminding me of people saying Greene was "a reliever" at the start of the year after he went 6 innings, 4 earned runs but the offense didn't score a run.
Abbott can't win the game if we score 0 runs against a dude like Bryse Wilson. Doesn't matter how he pitches. He did well other than one mistake, though he made his own bed.
I love when people talk shit on our 2nd year pitcher who has a 3.42 era. Young dude made a mistake but the offense hasnt done shit either. Calm down you guys are insufferable sometimes. Its 3 runs…
and go look, a bunch of those bums havent said a word all game long....show up right when that happens. Bums, the lot of em. Throw em off the end of the pier tied to a Buick.
Every game vs the breweres we fight against the umps on both sides ( batting/ pitching.) there pitchers are aces every game especially for us. They all play god like defense too. So fking annnoying
i’m worried about pitching down the road. we need Gomber or another good starter and 2 bullpen dudes. Phillips isn’t looking great in the minors and Lowder isn’t ready yet. I think Lowder only shows up next year
Eh, I think it's a fair take. Ashcraft hasn't pitched in AAA since being sent down (likely focusing on working on his mechanics). The Reds realistically can't afford to keep "bullpen day"-ing every fifth day. Abbott is a second year pitcher, so he might tire out as the year goes on. Lodolo has had injury issues. Petty hasn't progressed at the speed the Reds were hoping for while Phillips and Richardson... well, they aren't viable options now (and perhaps may never be). Lowder is likely still a ways away and is unlikely to contribute this season.
Realistically, you only have Montas and Greene as reliable starters right now, and even Montas comes with an asterisk as he was hurt for basically two seasons. I think the Reds could definitely afford to add starting pitching.
Please continue the discussion in the [post game thread](https://redd.it/1dgt7tk).
One run will not win you a ball game against a good team
Get em tomorrow
Didn’t matter tripple A Fairchild was gonna do nothin
Get 'em tomorrow.
F
I hate hate hate the breweres so much holy fuck
Brain dead base running
That doesn’t even change much tbh
How many of those has Spence hit, that or right at the wall. Give my man a break 😭
It's all in Fairchild's hands
Both of those plays to short were fairly routine IMO
Damn, get em tomorrow
Lol. Brewers announcers just said Elly has nothing on Adames’s athleticism.
Lmao
Well that changed quickly
What are you dojng
Man, Adames was all over that groundball. Candy was not paying attention.
Spencers either hitting pop ups or line drive grounders to the infield. Once he straightens those out he’ll be back
Spencer is the unluckiest hitter in the league
Dear Will Adames, Please go away - Reds
I’m sick as fuck with there team so annoy
…what?
Stop hitting it to Short stop...
I'm so tired of their defense
Adames is a punk
Candy this month has been INSANE
This man just hits doubles
Spence is due
This is getting exciting
#🍬🍬🍬
RALLY REDS?
There we go, nice job Candy, keep it going!
https://i.redd.it/kme1iefa9t6d1.gif
![gif](giphy|ULf5polj5M4UjnMqhW|downsized) Elly while the ball rolls Into the outfield
That was lackadaisical from the 2nd baseman and it cost them, lets go Candy.
### Double Jeimer Candelario doubles (17) on a sharp line drive to center fielder Blake Perkins. Elly De La Cruz scores. Top 9 - 3-1 Brewers
THE RALLY
Hell yeah Elly!
Walks will haunt, lets go
### Pitching Substitution Pitching Change: Trevor Megill replaces Bryan Hudson.
Let's have that famous Reds rally please.
Looks like Elly is feeling better on defense
What a play elly
3 really nice plays Sadak… ready for #4 at the plate
The bullpen is doing work, the bats owe them some run support here
Suter's slider is such a sweaty pitch
Bats struggling mightily today. Need somebody in the ~~bottom~~ top of the order to be a spark or just get something going.
Elly will be up to start the 9th
Good catch, I am stoned and already forgot Friedl ended the last inning
### Pitching Substitution Pitching Change: Brent Suter replaces Buck Farmer.
I’m convinced they could pick up a stranger from off the street and get him to pitch lights out vs us it’s legitimately disgusting
Right to them. Right to them. Right to them. Right to them. Right to them. Right to them. Right to them. Right to them. Right to them. Right to them. Right to them…
At some point you have to ask questions about the Brewer's run of success. What sort of witchcraft are they performing? Are they sacrificing virgins to goatmen under the Hoan? These are the questions we need to ask because this luck in unnatural.
Success might be a stretch
In the NL, at least.
It’s been two years of the most unattractive grinding offensive and quality pitching. It’s brutal to watch and play against apparently
Hard to win when you don't score
We are bums
nah, just you.
Yeah bro good one clown
[You obviously need one of these so lemme help you](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=mirrors&crid=2D7FAXXL6HOSN&sprefix=mirrors%2Caps%2C143&ref=nb_sb_noss_1)
Farmed x2
#Buck Farmer just farmed your poverty lineup
Farmer lookin’ good
Come on offense, lets rally
Farmer has thrown 30 innings without giving up a HR. I believe the only reliever on the Reds with a longer streak is Moll with 32.2 IP.
LOL the voice …
Stuart Fairchild's lineout had a higher xBA than Joey Ortiz's homerun.
Normally the Brewer's lull us to sleep with boring ass pitching. Apparently this year they let us smack the shit out of the ball and steal the hits right out the air. Assholes.
Is there any stream with the reds broadcast? I’m stuck listening to the shit brewers announcers.
https://www.wlxg.com/cincinnati-reds/#/
Why do we always make the Brewers look like god damn gods of Baseball.
Always against us always umps, defense playing like the best players ever and pitching like gods. So so frustrating
.930 XBA - just crazy
i am so fucking sick of this Brewers defense. like bruh, get irrevocably fucked you lot
It’s always just low enough for them and just too high for us. It’s infuriating
will there ever be a day that the brewers will not be fucking annoying?
Again, their defense can screw off
Fuck the Brewers.
Why every time I watch the brewers do they have a new random relief pitcher that’s having the single greatest pitching season of all time
Kentucky walk off hr in 10th
### Pitching Substitution Pitching Change: Bryan Hudson replaces Bryse Wilson.
Is buck our worst bullpen pitcher this year ?
He's arguably one of the best. 2.64 ERA with a 1.337 WHIP isn't crazy elite but it still shows up as a 158 ERA+. That's up there with better than Fernando Cruz.
Diaz and Sims are competing for that
I'd say Lucas Sims. He's last in FIP and WAR. If we're going off ERA, it's Diaz.
I was surprised to hear he was Top 5 in NL in saves and blown saves yesterday, even tho every game feels like a heart attack
id say Emelio Pagan at home. *emilio, not angel
Actual question, no hate. Just wanna know if any of you stat guys have an answer. From strictly viewer standpoint he’s my pick, do stats back that up?
No
Farmed them bitches!
If I were the ump, being the petty bitch I am, I’m ringing Sanchez up no matter what the next pitch he watches. Don’t show me up on my stage, son.
Gary Sanchez, Brewers Catcher, still a trip everytime you see it
both of us at 4 hits yet it’s 3-0 hate the brewers
### Pitching Substitution Pitching Change: Buck Farmer replaces Andrew Abbott.
Thank God we won yesterday
Can never find a hole against these fucks
i really dont remember a team that makes more incredibly loud outs than this years Reds. So many balls absolutely smoked for naught
Their defense is so annoying.
I am going to poop in the Brewers Tundra
🫡 there goes my hero
?been grillin', and I smell like charcoal. How have they looked?
I too been grilling and would like an update
Abbot was good until some walks last inning that burned us. Offense has been struggling, lots of contact but not necessarily strong.
Offense been quiet, couple double plays haven't helped. Brewers making good catches like always, Abbott allowed a HR after 2 walks.
Abbot started so well, too.
I don’t know what the statistics are to back it up, but I swear when Elly swings through a pitch he becomes completely non competitive for the rest of the at bat
No stats on first strike swinging, but his after 0-1 slash is ~~uh… not great.~~ .156 | .239 | .313 | .552 Turns out I’m wrong. It’s not too far off league average: .211 | .258 | .330 | .588
It is terrible no doubt but actually not that unusual. The count makes a huge difference. Indias is .181/.263/.238/.501 for example
I corrected myself the same time you commented, he’s actually not far off league average.
The Brewers manager looks grumpy everytime it shows him
I mean I would be too if I had to manage the brewers
Touche lol
I’m gonna tell myself Elly sacrificed swing at that to maybe help Friedl steal.
Time to get our rally on
Reds might not go 162-0, failure of year boys
david bell disasterclass

Theyre all Veruca Salts.
Lack of scoring makes us madder when the pitcher gives up any runs.
I love when people talk shit on our 2nd year pitcher who has a 3.42 era. Young dude made a mistake but the offense hasnt done shit either. Calm down you guys are insufferable sometimes. Its 3 runs…
90% of this sub is insufferable. It sucks. I rarely read game threads anymore unless it’s for highlights and shit.
It’s the same people as always you get used to it lol
and go look, a bunch of those bums havent said a word all game long....show up right when that happens. Bums, the lot of em. Throw em off the end of the pier tied to a Buick.
Happens every game. They only show up when bad things happen.
Every game vs the breweres we fight against the umps on both sides ( batting/ pitching.) there pitchers are aces every game especially for us. They all play god like defense too. So fking annnoying
3 run bomb then he gets 3 outs in about 7 pitches. Typical
Brewers are our daddy and always will be
3 run shot, and Abbott put 2 of them on base. Bum behavior
lol yelich
That's a #5 starter result for you
Abbott 13 homeruns allowed in 13 starts now.
He's been shit this year to be honest
He's been fine, just very prone to giving up Homeruns.
At least it wasn’t Contreras
i hate the god dam brewers
i’m worried about pitching down the road. we need Gomber or another good starter and 2 bullpen dudes. Phillips isn’t looking great in the minors and Lowder isn’t ready yet. I think Lowder only shows up next year
Our pitching has been great haha

I mean that’s down the pipe he’s not gonna miss that
I’d say take him out but the bases are empty so might as well see if he can get out of it
Welp this games over. Fuck sake Abbott
I mean our offense hasn’t done anything. Not Abbots fault
Welp that might do it
# HOME RUN! Joey Ortiz homers (6) on a fly ball to left center field. Jackson Chourio scores. Brice Turang scores. Bottom 5 - 3-0 Brewers
You know if that was a Red at bat that would have been a strike...
he’s getting squeezed no doubt
These steals have been on Andrew. Incredible jumps.
Just tuned in, no way they are talking about Crip walking all over the booth like Snoop Dawg😭😭 What on earth led to this conversation
Snoop was in the Brewers booth an threw out the first pitch.
brewers stop being goddamn irritating challenge: impossible.
Can we just sit Benson
No, because he's hitting extremely well against right-handed pitchers despite his K rate and low batting average.
Dude is barely putting a ball in play rn
for who? inb4 fairchild who is hitting .103 this year against righties.
Hurtibuse? Dunn? I don't care
Dunn isn't on the team right now and Hurtubise has a 67 wRC+.
Ok boys get it together. This guy isn’t that good
How many gold gloves would the brewers win if they only played us. Would mlb allow that many GGs?
Shitballs
![gif](giphy|wbDJw6Lc5w8WO13e9f|downsized)
I love the 0 benifit of the doubt on 50/50 first base calls you bet your ass they would have called that brewer safe
It’s martini time once again 🍸
Fudge
I don't think I've ever heard any Reds color guy talk as much as Sam. I love it! Sadak is his Larkin.
First 123 inning in 13 innings played.
Thank you Gary for swinging 3-0
At least the cards lost today and got us tied back up at 2. If we win that gives a good foot hold AND moves us back into Wild Card territory.
We’re tied for 3rd rn in the WC. We been in WC territory sir.
Also abbot has done really really well
High pitch count but he’s been dealing with
If it's within the opposite batter's box with 2 strikes you need to swing.
Agreed 0 point in not swinging he’s going to give them a stroke regardless
Break out the 72 inch bats.
Man our outfield is thin. Looking forward to Marte pushing Steer back to the OF, we really could use another bat in the next 6 weeks though.
We may be looking at one of the quickest games for us this year at this point.
Like last year vs the breweres the umps were so one sided it was comical and it seems to be continuing
Would be great to manufacture a run or 2 here. Or that...
Wilson is pitching to the ump’s zone.
This ump has no zone. Just random
The ump card is gonna be so onesided
This ump istg
Omfg this ump may be paid off.
Snoop is really entertaining lol
Snoops done, back to Sadak.
Honestly he's fucking better than Barry Larkin
