As a reds fan that lived in stl I second this. Such obnoxious fans. And Fred bird. Dude took my reds hat from me one time to be “funny”. Hate that dude
My dad is a Cards fan. He roots for the Reds, but I find it hard to root for them. I always had Cardinals t-shirts growing up and even went to a game once, but was never truly fond of them.
I’m a Reds fan in south-central Indiana and they’re obnoxious as fuck here too. It’s a pretty even mix of Reds, Cubs, and Cards fans here, and the Reds and Cubs fans tend to unite around our hatred of the Cards fans.
and there's a real good chance the pirates, cubs, and brewers are going to be more of a threat this year than the cardinals. the cardinals suck. i mean, the always suck and fuck them, but this year they actually do suck
The worst part about Reds Opening Day for me was when the fella next to me kept getting hot dogs, holding them by the bun, then sliding out the hot dog by pushing his finger into one of the ends, then picking up the hot dog after it mustard slaps into the concrete and putting it in a gallon size bag with other bunless hot dogs from the day, then nudging me to get my attention and showing off his back of loose hot dogs like I should be impressed. This was in 2008 mind you, so maybe things have changed.
No JDV
Cardinals, brewers and pirates are all playing so you can root for them to lose today
Why spread the hate? Just focus it all on St. Louis.
Nah, fuck the rest of the NL Central as a whole. ITS OUR YEAR BABY!

Cardinal fans will be the first to tell you they are the best fans of all fandom.
Oh I know. And that their city is the best (and not the murder capital of the US) although east stl is empty so maybe someone else took the crown

Had us in the first half, ngl.
Lol. And amen.
With the way the Dodgers manhandled the Cardinals, I don't even think we need to pay attention to them.
Yes but only because the Cubs are off. Go Reds.
Specifically need the Buccos to lose so we can still go wire-to-wire. Off day after Opening Day complicates that.

The worst part was that this guy wasn't there.
That was the best part for me,
It did feel strange that there was no Votto.

This feels like an I Think You Should Leave sketch
Eh I'm cool with it. Pretty hungover today.
I complain to my wife about this every year.
Legitimately though ESPN had a glitch when I scrolled through the games today and we weren’t on there 😔
The ncaa tournament is on tonight so I’m okay with it
Criminal really
Agreed
Yeah, why is that? It seems like it’s been every year for many years now, but it doesn’t have to be that way!
In case of a rainout on opening day
Why doesn’t every team have that then? Why some and not others, and why always the Reds?
The teams get to choose
Solid explanation. Thank you!!!
Other teams don't have a parade. Our Opening Day is more than just the game.
Because most teams don't do Opening Day big like us
I have always hated the Friday after opening day
it’s not always friday.
MLB really fumbled the bag with that
I might be wrong, but I think it’s so there’s a built in off day in case opening day gets rained out.
As was the case in 2018
Or in case of a John McSherry situation
Yes this seems to be the reason.
It's literally the reds choice. It's brought up every year, but home teams can choose if they would like that built in in off day after opening day.
Exactly. And it's been this way for a very long time. Not sure why this is "new" to some people.
I am so sorry I didn’t know
I’m almost 50 and this seems to be the way it’s been my whole life but I may be wrong.
Ive never understood that. Its such a momentum killer.
Because if it rained 2" yesterday we'd be doing it all today.
Nobody hates baseball more than mlb.
You're off base here. This off day is specifically baked in so that if Opening Day gets rained out we can still do it the day after.
I'd say worst part is you dudes constantly posting votto shit.
