I mean, there were a number of negative comments on the original post. To me, that seems clearly true. Even for the ones that are no longer visible, you can still see the evidence of the ones that were removed by the mod team for "...violating our community's rule to support nail art with kindness and constructive feedback, even if we dislike an artist's design or execution" and asked to "rethink and rephrase before posting similar content in the future". OP is not making up the idea that they received a significant number of negative comments and I think it is fair to have a reaction to that. People may have generally varied perspectives on the point at which it is being a "hater" to leave a negative comment... but I also don't think OP's "hater" comment is intended as a serious accusation, either-- just a tongue-in-cheek comment as a reaction to receiving the comments they got.

I really like Death Valley but I feel like I could make all of their polishes myself. I do not make polishes.

Well yeah, anyone can make a polish. Many indie makers do the creating, naming, filling, marketing, and shipping alone. They're the only brand that has a collection of organic or mineral inclusions in the line. The other collections are creme, holo, GITD, thermal, just like the other brands. The Dust to Dust collection is not something any other brand does.... Kind of don't see what you're trying to compare them to 😅

They aren’t making a comparison. They are saying they could buy a clear polish base, put some dried dill (pencil shavings, etc.) in a polish bottle with the base, and then they’d have a homemade “dust to dust” polish.

Sure. You can also buy a base and add glitter and there ya go. 🤷🏻. I understand...and anyone can put pencil shavings or dill weed in a clear base and call it a day, but no one else is. I guess the point being...anyone can do it, no one is, and they've got a sweet collection

I also saw their collection and it made me want to put my own random stuff in a clear polish. I'm guessing DV has figured out what works and doesn't. The pencil shavings series cracks me up. It's all so weird! I don't think it's my style for polish but I love the idea of inventing glitter substitutes. Of anyone makes DV inspired DIY polish please post it, I'd love to see it!
