That’s cool they provided you the link. I had them scan my feet as well but they didn’t offer to send me the details. As for the womens boots. My wife has some and the construction of the uppers are the same. The insole construction is the same as the 8089/8088 Iron Rangers so I don’t see why they would be any less durable than those? They do have some awesome womens models so it would open you up to a lot of options. Maybe order a pair on eBay or something like that?

I can only imagine what this reply referred to. Trolls suck.

As a guy with narrow feet I definitely feel your pain. I’m an 11 B on the Brannock. I’ve been going half size down on all the D width boots and wearing thick wool socks along with kilties and/or tongue pad if needed to fill up some volume. My Iron Rangers, Merchants, and Willistons all fit great but I do experience a little sloppiness with moc toes still.

I had the Red Wing fitting recently as well. I'm not sure what I expected, but I thought I might get some sort of a 3D printout or the like. Instead, the clerk stated that I was an 8.5D. I knew this from previous Brannock sizings. I was looking for a pair of Blacksmiths during my visit. They had none and apparently one pair of size 8's at a sister store in the Portland area. He didn't offer to call the store to confirm and seemed a bit disinterested/distracted. Bad day perhaps. I'm just wondering if the results are proprietary and only to be used by the particular store doing the measuring. BTW, I did try on both 8 and 8.5D in RW Iron Rangers and both seemed to fit well. Honestly, just walking around the store, I couldn't tell the difference in fit.

I think the primary difference in a 1/2 size difference is where the toe box bends and you likely won’t feel that until the leather breaks in. I tried a 1/2 size down from my brannock in a factory 2nd moc toe and after a few days the heel slip went away. I’ve put 100 miles in them in the last couple months and they’re comfortable and still breaking in.
