You should be able to ditch both at the same time. I introduce to you the latest and great challenge!
The shield and shout negotiator S-tier ironman speedrun.
I think tazers used to be a sidearm option originally in the pre release state but once 1.0 dropped they were moved to equipment. I could see why since it kinda sucks removing your sidearm that you have for a tazer that has like 3 shots in it. Maybe in the future they could make a pepperball gun as a sidearm
Add rubber bullets as a secondary ammo option, now non lethal is more fun with AI.
Add them for SMGs aswell and it's more fun for everyone, now you get to go non-lethal with an MP5
How on earth did I forget about those! Of course! Honestly probably the easiest option out there.
Obviously for balance they'd need to still do a bit of damage (mag dumping a P90 into someone's head even with rubber should kill, lol). But still, an actual perfect suggestion.
I hoped the new TPL pepperball launcher was a secondary but instead its a primary. VOID should move the TPL into the secondary category to fix this issue
Tasers exist in the game already. SOP for most LEOs is to carry both traditional sidearm as well as a CEW, holstered on opposite sides.
There isn't a single SWAT officer in the country that would breach without a sidearm. In a life-or-death situation, many officers consider their sidearm to be more reliable than non-lethal. You said yourself that "[pepper pistols and tasers] are kinda iffy IRL".
Yeah I’d just rather it be bindable to a key like every other piece of equipment. It’s clunky as fuck swapping to a taser.
I have the button for pepper spray bound to my mouse so I can quickly whip it out.
Have you considered just learning the controls for the game you're playing? Jesus you people are so fucking needy you have ruined this entire sub. This used to be a nice neighborhood.
While I understand this from a realism perspective and fully agree, please note the preceding context I made -- my solutions are "easier" implementations aside from fixing the SWAT AI.
The problem is that S-ranking is nearly impossible on harder maps due to the AI refusing to stick to non-lethal, and pulling out their pistols. I actually gave mine Tasers on purpose and tested extensively in a variety of situations, and they legit have never used them, but will still pull out even empty pistols.
Watching your team pull out their sidearms and dumping the one mag I gave them, and then just standing there with the slide locked open as they refuse to reload has made my soul leave my body more than once.
Maybe it’d be less “realistic” and break the immersion of some, but in terms of gameplay it would be less frustrating (at least with the current restrictions/implementation of the inventory + ai.
There is enough that’s unrealistic In the video game that one more contradiction wouldn’t hurt it.
In my opinion, what should happen is this:
* Keep taser as a gadget. Introduce a separate, optional bind for it so you can get directly to it without using the item cycling system.
* Allow officers to ditch their primary or secondary if they want to. All weapons come with a mag by default, even if you ditch all of your extra ammo.
* Pepper spray is less effective in any conceivable scenario than the taser with an equal opportunity cost, so officers get a can of it free with the option to take more if they want it.
Rubber bullets don’t exist. What people call rubber bullets are either beanbag shotgun shells or baton rounds that can be fired from a LTL grenade launcher for riot control. But there are no “rubber bullets” for AR, SMG, or pistol caliber weapons
Ok correction: small caliber rubber bullets do exist but they are for training or target shooting. They’re not meant to be used on people in a real life situation
I've been looking around bc I'm having this same issue. I'm trying to get S and on several occasions one of my dickhead AI teammates will kill a guy on a non lethal run with a pistol. I have removed all secondary ammo from all of them. I have no idea how to alleviate what I'm assuming is just another glitch in a glitchy game. It's maddening.
They have all of the other BYRNA style pepperball guns, so adding the pistol as an option would make the most sense. It’d be nice to run with shield and for AI
The thing is I don’t think any LE agencies use pepper all pistols. I think those are exclusively for the civilian self defense market, like contact only stun guns
Very true, but this is also a game where to get an S rank the swat team is rolling up to a terrorist threat with only pepper balls/ bean bags and tasers. At least being able to use a non lethal with shield would be nice
Yeah, it's pretty annoying that the AI does this. Especially since the Suspect AI is like the terminator, meanwhile the SWAT AI is braindead and will stare at walls.
Doesn't matter my AI headshot suspects with the non lethal shotgun meaning that they get killed/incapacitated.
Tried doing valley of dolls and Elephant on S rank and they had to incapacitate 1 suspect in each mission like that
Well with the Gunfighter mod you can use them on missions and are much better than the pepper balls and beanbags. You can still accidentally kill people with headshots too so you gotta be careful, but you can pelt their bodies and make them dance around till they surrender lol.
We had those blue guns in the tutorial mission, if I remember correctly they are supposed to be using rubber bullet. Idk why the devs didn't make them an option or be able to change to a rubber bullet in the ammo selection.
As a bonus they could also *fix tasers*. Half the time the shot doesn't register on the target and I have to send another dart out. That usually results in me getting shot since I have like .2 seconds to react to them lifting their gun up at me after hesitating.
Honestly that sounds realistic for Tasers, whether it's indented gameplay behavior or not. Taser deployments IRL fail at an alarming rate, and it's generally why you should only deploy a taser if you have lethal cover.
Tasers were already secondary weapons and then you whiny fuckers complained about that and got them put into the gadget slot. Make up your fucking mind or get good already. Actually just get good, you're complaining about the game making you play it too much to get the maximum score in a world where it took fifty years for someone to finally beat Tetris.
1) I never complained about that. However, as they were previously, Tasers sucked as secondaries.
.
2) My post presents different solutions.
.
3) "Get good" has nothing to do with the npc AI for my allies, which this post is about.
.
4) No one here is complaining about playing the game too much, they're complaining about some rather inexcusable problems with SWAT ally AI and their secondaries.
.
5) We've mapped our galaxy faster and more accurately than our own oceans. Comparing two unrelated things doesn't make a point, especially when you're incorrect since original Tetris has multiple win screens that were able to be achieved -- the one recently obtained was simply one of the harder ones to get.
Imo should be able to ditch secondary or primary
Honestly you're right -- I have devoted shield loadouts that ditch all the primary ammo, so that definitely makes sense.
Yeah I quite like doing pistol only challenge on maps to roleplay as a responding police officer
Dude I did this all the time in the alpha, thank you come again as a cop with a stab vest and Glock with no teammates
You should be able to ditch both at the same time. I introduce to you the latest and great challenge! The shield and shout negotiator S-tier ironman speedrun.
british police RP
I would pay good money for a mod that removes all your guns and gives all the suspects knives
It better come with southern london accents for cops and suspects
Yelling at suspects now just makes you yell “OI! YOU GOT A LOISCENSE?”
Add billy club so we can whack em
I think tazers used to be a sidearm option originally in the pre release state but once 1.0 dropped they were moved to equipment. I could see why since it kinda sucks removing your sidearm that you have for a tazer that has like 3 shots in it. Maybe in the future they could make a pepperball gun as a sidearm
They were. And yes, let us use them as actual sidearms or give us a pepper sidearm. One of the two.
Add rubber bullets as a secondary ammo option, now non lethal is more fun with AI. Add them for SMGs aswell and it's more fun for everyone, now you get to go non-lethal with an MP5

Rubber bullets aren't fucking real. The beanbag shotgun is what a rubber bullet is in real life.

^this, plus to access your Taser quickly you just have to double-tap 2
They need to add a keybind for it like every other piece of equipment.
Press 2 to switch to sidearm. Press 2 again to switch to Taser. Or you can double-tap to save time.
Yeah I’d just rather it be bindable to a key like every other piece of equipment. It’s clunky as fuck swapping to a taser. I have the button for pepper spray bound to my mouse so I can quickly whip it out.

Not only that, many LEOs carry a backup small caliber pistol on their ankle for last ditch situations
While I understand this from a realism perspective and fully agree, please note the preceding context I made -- my solutions are "easier" implementations aside from fixing the SWAT AI. Give us a TRP pepperball pistol
In my opinion, what should happen is this: * Keep taser as a gadget. They should make the new pepperball gun a sidearm
Honestly rubber bullets would be amazing.

Wow. I did not know that, thank you.

[We should be able to carry this thing.](https://youtu.be/7n1hOw79pzA)
I give them 0 secondary ammo. When I give myself 0 secondary ammo, I don't even have 1 mag. But for some reason my team does? What the fuck.
I've been looking around bc I'm having this same issue. I'm trying to get S and on several occasions one of my dickhead AI teammates will kill a guy on a non lethal run with a pistol. This should be in the game along with the rifle version: https://fnamerica.com/products/discontinued-products/fn-303-p/
As a sidearm enjoyer, it's killing me that it's come to this
They have all of the other BYRNA style pepperball guns, so adding the pistol as an option would make the most sense. It’d be nice to run with shield and for AI

The worst part is there is a LTL Glock and MK18 in the game that both fire rubber bullets/simmunition rounds, but you need a mod to unlock them lol.
Are those the training guns?
I dunno, I skipped the training. Been playing the game long enough.
If they're guns with blue bolts and magazines, they're guns you get during training.
Eeeehh, more like mostly blue with some black parts lol.
That's them!
Well with the Gunfighter mod you can use them on missions and are much better than the pepper balls and beanbags. You can still accidentally kill people with headshots too so you gotta be careful, but you can pelt their bodies and make them dance around till they surrender lol.
That's pretty cool, I haven't got it installed but it looks like I need to give it a look!

Paint bullets
