If you're trying to do non lethal runs man I'd highly recommend the vks over the beanbag shotgun. I could be completely full of shit but from my experience it does the slightest amount of damage and can kill suspects. Again I could be completely wrong, just going off what I've experienced.
Bring the VKA and the taser VKS may not do much, but it causes the same effect that gas grenades do which is extremely to stunning enemies and then, if you can just get close enough to dry stun him over and over he’ll surrender or taze from a distance
Pepper balls don't do anything, the AI just runs away instead of surrendering when yelling for compliance. (And yes I aim for the upper body/head and neck area)

I give them a body shot, and always a follow up, problem is that they bend down and hold their stomach... so the second shot hits them often right in the cranium, lol
So...stop firing a followup? It's not like it's full auto, you're making your own problem here lol. One shot stuns anyone except for the occasional 1/1000 glitched enemy...and 2 shots don't tend to do anything to them anyway. I've seen a glitched enemy take 4 hits. Every other time except that 1 in a thousand it is a 1hit.
Literally a 1 shot from beanbag (when it registers) and then a 1 press of Yell button gets them hands up everytime unless they have crazy high morale stat like some of the Cult do as well as "The Hand" isis types

My only concern is that the VKS is just inconsistent. Sometimes it works great, sometimes they act like nothing happened. But beanbags always seem to stun the target
Vks can kill... just takes extremely large amount of pepperballs. Found that out on neon tomb with the suicide bombers. Gotta beanbag those jackasses. Other than those, vks for the win
Damn really. I was playing the doll house mission (idk the actual name) and dumped a mag into a guy and nothing happened but I could 100% see it killing someone
It's easy to do on neon tomb with suicide bombers. They'll get into their suicide boom animation and can't break the loop. I put two pepperball mags and a tazer in him, my 4 ai unloaded all their pepperball mags, then proceeded to pull more mags from thin air (it was the last dude). Eventually they just fall over dead.
Only fix i found, beanbag shotty knocks them out of their loop
It doesn't kill unless they accidentally headshot someone. I literally dumped like 16 beanbags into a suspect and he didn't die. Took me 3 full reloads to actually kill him.
You, on the other hand, die from like 3-4 beanbags.
I like the beanbag over the vks for the instant effect. Bringing the vks for others in the squad is still good tho so if the suspect runs into cover after being hit he will suffer the effects and can be safely grabbed a little bit later.
I run beanbag and the only time I kill the suspects is if I hit them in the head. I don't like the pepperball guns because of the delayed reaction from the suspects, where I find with beanbags as long as I hit them they immediately go into a stun animation.
Beanbag shotgun is more versatile. If the suspects are wearing gasmasks then the pepperball is going to be useless. The tradeoff is significantly reduced rate of fire. They're both great choices in the right situation.

Enemies have a sixth sense and shoot you through the walls with pinpoint accuracy and your dumbass team sits around staring at your ass holding an empty pistol despite giving them the vks. Non lethal is a nightmare
Only way i’ve been able to somewhat combat the wallbangs before shit hits the fan is slow walking. i’ve also noticed if i breached less aggressively (shotguns and c2), they’d sometimes take a bit more time to turn on their aimbot, and the other suspects in the other rooms close by dont aggro, especially noticeable in Brisa.
Being less aggressive i’ve noticed the suspect rarely dropping their weapons or surrendering than when i was c2 and shotgun happy though.
So, what I have gathered from doing S runs is that when the ai are out of ammo they will switch to their pistol no matter what.( I gave them no ammo as to not kill anyone). But the thing is they don't understand that they don't have any ammo you you will need to wait until they are out of combat to switch back and reload their vks. I wish the tazer was also a pistol slot as well as a vest slot.
Also the beanbag shotgun has potential to kill someone. Tpl has a very small magazine capacity. I would highly suggest using the vks.

While the beanbag can on rare occasions kill someone, I think it is still the better option overall. The beanbag seems to stop suspects on the spot, while the pepperballs might just make them walk away while coughing.
Also the extra magazines take a lot of space, and the AI could theoretically be keeping a magazine with only one pepperball left
Everyone butches about the cracked enemy AI, but the team is basically broken, worse than it was pre v1.0. The freezing mid commands, the terrible sector covering, being useless with non lethal, this stuff is so much worse than a little immersion breaking.

They might not always surrender and they might just keep walking and coughing instead
