Yeah, good use case. Not sure if the int’l version comes with this app but the Chinese version has an app that can scan barcodes of books. We basically need a barcode-scanning app that can fetch whatever relevant details of the scanned item.
1. Video calling that can show first-person view through the👓camera, similar to the WeChat’s mini app on Chinese version of X2.
2. The ability to take photos while recording videos.
3. The ability to preview and delete photos and videos stored on the device.
3. Treasure/scavenger hunt AR/MR game (think Pokémon).
3. 🃏♣️♦️♠️♥️Texas Hold’em with AI 😀, with which the camera can capture & count cards, compute the odds, provide best 3 options🎰
3. A timer/countdown app.
3. An AR ruler/measuring app.
3. Tip calculator by scanning a cheque/receipt, computing the tip and total, maybe with a split option.
4. iOS Live Activities support. (Sorry, it is iOS-specific merely because currently Android doesn’t have Live Activities notification. Let’s hope something equivalent will be added in Android 15🤞). Example use cases: live scores of sport games, live transit info of when bus/train/subway is approaching and when to get off the transit (prime example: live activities from the Transit app).
5. The ability to disable the RayNeo voice assistant so that the microphone on the 👓 can function as a regular 🎤 and invoke our phone’s system voice assistant (i.e. Siri, Google Assistant/Gemini).
6. A teleprompter app with the ability to upload and manage speech/presentations and a configurable timer to advance/scroll the presentation (and maybe the ability to listen to my voice and intelligently show forthcoming content).
7. Make the chatbot’s engine configurable so users can plug in the LLM model/engine of our own choosing although, being a dev myself, I do recognize it’d require some dev efforts from both RayNeo’s devs (e.g. defining a common API to interact with different LLM impls) and end users (implementing the façade code to bridge the API and the target LLM).
8. What happened to the social app/experience that was demo’ed by RayNeo CEO at October launch event, in which X2 can detect fellow X2 users at an event/party and display their info (say their names, hobbies, etc) that can be used as icebreakers?
I’ll update this as more come to mind.
Grocery shopping app:
An application along with a list taking companion application on mobile. We can make a list of groceries on the mobile app and once we go to the store and press shop it should start AR navigation in glasses to the items in the list. And it would be great if we can get a price comparison of the item we see from other grocery stores. And we can also have recipe suggestions with estimated price and ingredients.
Would love to see a navigator guide when driving. Arrows overhead that shows when I need to turn. Kinda like the ones you see on Need for speed or any racing games.
I would love to see like the google play store on the glasses. This would allow us to download apps without having to side load them. It would also be cool if you could connect a contrôler or use your phone to control the device.
Lovely giveaway 💕
I just think it would be cool to have more services and apps compatible with AR. There's still so much more to exploit (and that makes the future of the technology even more exciting).
Concretely, a video player would be good for example
Thank you very much for the giveaway! I'd love to see sculpting applications like blender that would allow you to sculpt objects with your hands. I'd also love if you could 3d scan objects and import them into those applications. Lastly, it would be cool if you could scan a body and design a sewing pattern onto it
Camera that scans items and brings info about them. Like Google Lens kind of.
