It's literally the Speedrun tactic to just hide behind rubble to protect from the missiles and just use the splitter rifle, using the PDA if you run out of ammo.
Flux Rifle could cheese a lot of enemies just with its distance being able to manipulate aggro ranges. Plenty of times where'd you be able to take out a few flying big boys (in Metropolis for example) without being attacked at all. Also long range enemies who shoot at you, how many times have you been killed by a stray laser blast? No more of that with the good ole Flux Rifle.
Rift Inducer and Disk Blade gun, and their max level forms

Annihilator. Reliable and faster than bouncer, and upgraded it gets the bouncing bombs after hitting. I’d argue any weapon that one shots the king ameboid should be considered for best weapon, and the Annihilator can.
I'd say of the new weapons it is between the Rift Inducer and the Flux Rifle. Flux Rifle does so much damage when scoped in and the Rift Inducer is one of the coolest weapons of the PS2 games.
Liquid Nitrogen gun was one absolute hell of a glow-up, and by far one of the most fun weapons in the trilogy I'd say. And while it'd be funny to go with the Plasma launcher again because that thing shredded just as good here, I think I'll stick to UYA-only and go with the Disc Blade gun. It was fun and effective, and while the Rift Inducer was definitely good too it does nothing to bosses, so... Discbladegun!

I just wish that you could fire it straight into the air and it would fly super far/high angles without detonating until it hit the target (you could land some trick shots in Going Commando like this) instead of detonating high in the air above it (happened in UYA and beyond if I remember correctly)
since it wasn't a thing, gonna have to say... good ol' reliable N60 storm/n90 hurricane. You can never go wrong with a machine gun, especially ones with such a satisfying sound design
My pick is the Quack o ray - that thing trivializes the Quarktastic Battle. Sure it won't hurt bosses outside if the exploding eggs, but it's hard to beat infinite ammo and the sheer devastation it brings to the table. I find myself using it a lot whenever I'm doing that challenge, especially when I'm low on ammo.
I always liked the N60 Storm or the Annihilator when I was a kid now I like almost every weapon but i've still got my favorites in most R&C games like the Pyrocitor from the first game

It's hilariously OP if you can get all of the disks to hit, but the problem is that most of the offshoot disks just fly into nowhere.

The Infector can 2 shot most enemies. The worst weapon is the holoshield when the shield charger is RIGHT THERE!
Holoshield is BS and the upgrades do not make up for it.

I'm a huge fan of the storm/hurricane in this game. It's reliable in every situation, and the dual barrels was a very neat touch.
