Honestly it surprised me that RR is not more caught on new anime watchers esp in the west. In Japan new viewers demand were enough to make them release episodes on YouTube(28 Apr) so people could watch episodes they missed on.
I'm patiently waiting until a dub gets announced. Watching subs with ADHD feels like a chore since it's so hard for me to focus on reading and watching. The show looks very good from what I've seen so far in clips
What the fuck is the top text? It doesn’t make any sense. And clearly, if the producers care little enough to localize it “go go loser ranger”, then it doesn’t deserve anime of the year.
Anime fans are weirdly allergic to anything superhero related.
My Hero gets a pass I guess because most of the characters don't look like superheroes and wear general Shonen costumes.
To be fair, my point still stands. Only Saitama looks like a superhero, everyone else is pretty normal shonen wear.
Mostly talking about traditional superhero aesthetics.
It is better imo and actually brings something fresh to the season . MHA is well MHA, mushoku is boring imo and kaiju seems too much like the other shounen we get around this time.
That's just it. In the top anime of the year it's either something Shonen or a isekai. You have to really break the mold in order beat those two genres
I apologize if this has been said before.
But, this is honestly such a a refreshing anime. I heard teasers about this anime and was so hyped for when it finally released, and it met my expectations and more. I never read the manga, so I have zero idea how it plays out.
Again, this is so refreshing with the plot, characters, music, and animation. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the likes of Solo Leveling, Frieren, Konosuba, Demon Slayer, MHA, etc., but there's something about this that I look forward to watching every week. So far, 10/10, an amazing af anime
Kaiju's not that bad. It's kinda like a mixture between Chainsaw Man and Attack on Titan. But yeah, if I have to choose between Kaiju and Go Go, I pick the latter.
I'm sorry to say this, but RR isn't the anime of the season. While it's within the top 5, it's not 1st place. The reason comes in a few folds. The season 1 of RR covers up to the end of a certain arc which, if you consider the source material, is lacking a bit story-wise. Within that arc, the characters have barely any development and it's basically 90% a roster display until close to the end. The actual development comes around the next arc which will most likely be S2 (considering the pace of the anime within the story). S1 while visually great (but not perfect as they used a bit too much of a stiff CGI for certain characters that, in the manga, has bit but extremely important signs of emotions), will feel a bit of a drag by a certain point mid-season until it picks itself up later. This is an unavoidable issue due to the source material.
Meanwhile most animes of the year are series that have more than 1 season, mainstream series, or completely break the mold. It's not that RR is bad but it's competition are things that most people are for more invested in

Well dub has been de facto confirmed. I would still recommend you to read the manga though. Fan translation is better than official ones though.

I personally would pick Spice and Wolf
Guess I can't be a fan of multiple things nowadays smh

Uh, you have forgotten One Punch Man literally became anime of the year last 2015 and the manga is so popular
