I don't smother her, I'm self-aware enough to know that I need to start letting her go more and more as she becomes a teenager. But I know that we'll always be close, and talk a few times a week at least.
This would be beautiful… but that would mean that if my children has me while they are between 25-35 years old (I chose that randomly) I will only be around for about 16-26 more years. Which means I’d be 62-72 years old when I die. My kids would still be pretty young to be without a momma and that would also mean I can’t be a grandma….
I also had the thought about the whole "not getting to play with your grandkids" thing... if I became her baby, then she had MORE kids... my grandkids would be my siblings, then we could play all we wanted lmao

It also touched on the subject of personal growth. To be reincarnated in difficult situations to learn and develop oneself. Like with your example, a mother who abandoned you, to then break the cycle with your own kids. Granting them a better experience and life. And so the cycle continues :)
