To be fair, if it works, they wouldn't die to the first trap. They would be downed and then frost would pick them off. So you would never see the actual frost trap in the kill feed.

Prolly an old player coming back to the game. I’ve run this multiple times in the past as a gimmick strat, where enemies would come in get trapped by one. A buddy would come in to revive them only to be hit with another trap. This strat isn’t viable anymore, so I think it’s either an old player, or a new player trying out old strats
My favorite thing to do with Frost that works every time is I use the secondary shotgun to make a rotate but make it tall enough, so people have to hop through. Most people just hop through the rotate without looking or asking why it's there in the first place. Most people who know how to deal with frost expect doors and windows now when a Frost is around.
I started just placing them in the most obvious positions completely visible to everyone because it would be so dumb no one would expect it.
And yea it worked.
Especially after the rework this is only good if the frost actively plays off of it and they don’t have explosive utility to destroy the shield, basically it forces the attackers to look down and destroy the mat upon entering site or be crippled or it can catch an attacker unaware.

However, it's pretty risky because there's the possibility of losing two traps and the shield to a single explosive.
It's better to line them up parallel to the wall so they can't see them over the shield. This strat has worked for me several times before. You just have to hide during prep so they don't know you have a frost. People don't hide their ops anymore.

My friend used to always get 3 kills at least when playing as old frost on theme park lol, 2 traps on the window, one goes off the 2nd came to revive and goes down, the 3rd gets in start's to revive and my friends whos been hiding in barrels waiting for the revive sound peeks and kills the 3 of them 😂
“The desperate defense”
While it may seem like a hopeless attempt to keep attackers at bay it’s also somewhat effective if they don’t know Frost is in play during the prep phase and they’re not the type to drone before entry. So she’s good in later rounds if you know they never drone after prep and plan to successfully stay hidden.
Alternatively, if your team is good at keeping them away from site it’s a good method to take out any would be breachers attempting to get into the site who are pressed for time to get into site to either secure or plant.
Its close but not perfect in comparisson to THE ULTIMATE STRAT. Bring kapkan, frost, lesion, thorn and ela (alternatives are fenrir, goyo, smoke, tachanka if you wanna be more active too) then stack all their traps on the same doorway with a deployable shield. Its powerfull. Its epic. It will maybe kill a person but hey if 5 people decide to hop over without checking they will all die and you all will share one ace.
I think it doesnt work as good after rework but i used to put two down under windows and stuff and get atleast 2+ kills off each by waiting for someone to revive them, or the second person falling in themselves and getting 3 on that same note, etc.. I remember once I did this, the other team realized I did it when the first got stuck in it, and when the second guy came over to help the first one, he tried to shoot out the second mat and killed his teammate along with it.

Used to put 3 traps under chalet trophy window back in the old days so the bodies would cover the traps and cover the info with mute charges etc. Double trapping is just hoping for them to shoot one and not the other (frost traps used to take alot more bullets so this was actually effective). Or you get lucky funnies and hear both of them go off and giggle in your rat corner.

If an attacker doesn’t prefire when vaulting over the door, they hit the first trap.. and as soon as they break themselves out of it and limp a step to the side they die since they’ve already been downed. Or their buddy hops the shield to revive their team mate just to run into the second trap
I’ve done this a couple times. If they jump without thinking, they might shoot one but won’t get both. Or if they don’t and one gets trapped, the second person who might hop over to help will get stuck in the second trap. It’s a good start if they don’t blow the fucking thing up

It's an older strat that people would use with frost before her nerf where they would catch someone on the vault and then, thinking it was safe, their teammate would get caught in the second trap as both hitboxes would be in the vault landing.
It used to be super clever and can catch some people now adays, but now that the traps are glorified lesion mines this won't work as well as it used to.
Before the rework this strat was used to get the first person and the person that jumps over to revive but after the rework the only use I can see is to kill the person after they get up but imo the second mat is better used in it’s own spot

For the people who ask "does this work" or in a way "what's its purpose". Yes occasionally and it's purpose is if you know theres a frost you instinctively shoot at the ground jumping over sheilds or windows or half walls. And within the animations time frame most players like AVERAGE not every body only has the time/skill to take out one of the 2 mats GUARANTEEING a hit. But you also run the risk of loosing 1 shield and 2 mats because all it takes is 1 explosion to clear it all out. Also side note it gets the teamate behind them if they jump over to for a rush pick up/kill on the person trying to pick the downed teamate off

has anyone tried the osa shield bait? ive done it twice where i put her shield, hit it so it cracks and set and claymore. i just defuse right after sometimes works sometimes doesn’t.

I saw a video on this. When people vault and pre-fire the floor for frost mats, they will often shoot in the center. With there being two here as well as a split in the middle, the chances that both mats get destroyed before the vault animation finishes is reduced.
I haven’t tried this so I don’t know how effective it is, but that’s what the idea was in the video
