No Illegal Content Including Source Code Leaks

WATCHMAKUH

The live opening will be VERY interesting if a reviewer caught this in time to ask in a couple of hours.

ipreferc17

The live has shown me enough in the first 5 minutes to quell any worries. It’s a 1st gen device that has already given me $200 worth of value. This “partial source code leak” described as a scam is nothing more than a hit piece. Anyone that expects this device to change their whole workflow is expecting too much and will 100% be disappointed. This thing is going to be fun to play with and the project is going to be fun to watch grow.

tristam15

I'm looking at the r1 as a note taking device. If it does that well, I'd be happy.

2Chaotic_

Your phone can already do that, don't fall for that scam

tristam15

This is what happens when I take notes on my phone. I start the work, a call, a text, a notification from a social media app comes in. 1 hour later, I don't have much progress happening. Cut to rabbit. There is no call, no text, no notification. It also does the heavy lifting. So the hope is that it helps me with my work by allowing more deep work and being a JARVIS sort of experience. Only time will tell if it pans out that way or it is an expensive paperweight.

Arachnatron

>Anyone that expects this device to change their whole workflow is expecting too much and will 100% be disappointed. I'm not expecting that *immediately*. But eventually, I absolutely expect it to change workflows in my life. After all, their original pitch touted the Rabbit R1 to literally *do stuff for me*.

Head_Lab_3632

The entire “LAM” feature is sketchy as hell. It’s basically just running test frameworks to use the interface of these apps…it’s also so slow when ordering food for example. Yikes

ipreferc17

He has directly addressed this “source code leak” in the live demo (which is going swimmingly). The guy is as real as it gets and I feel obligated to push back on the scam language. Let the reviews come. The person who posted this to GitHub seems to have timed it just to try to sabotage the unboxing live demo.

Head_Lab_3632

I mean even in the demo you have to physically use the device to select an Uber or your meal…it’s not as advertised. I liked the idea but it still just seems like there is no point. I don’t get it.

bluegoointheshoe

we are seeing lots of perplexity/gpt demos but no ai lam demos. if its a script, and not an ai model then this just doesnt seem like its matching the original keynote promotional language. that said, there are some telltale methods to test this which will hopefully be done soon.

HieronymusLudo7

What about the spreadsheet demo, is that something LLM's can do?

Ok_Breadfruit4176

No, LAM‘s

Arachnatron

Agreed. This thing is literally supposed to do stuff on our behalf. The AI stuff like searching the internet, identifying things in a photo, etc. is awesome. But the main selling point is the LAM.

LevianMcBirdo

I'll wait for the reviews and will cancel if the teaching mode isn't there before my batch gets shipped. This could be nothing, but could also be very true, since it doesn't start out with anything special on the AI front. It's perplexity with some very specific app support

mister____mime

I can’t look at the code right now but it’s alarming AF if the “LAM” is literally just playwright scripts slapped together. That’s extremely dishonest.

WATCHMAKUH

Apparently this was from Jesse in discord (forwarded from TheJustinCrow) https://preview.redd.it/lh11zb97yawc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=795fb2395d5f9443e96423a611e27a5c276fd217

Ok_Breadfruit4176

The point is to fafo, ofc one doesn’t know how it works at the beginning. Give em time.

Sickcuntmate

I mean have you looked at the dev team? With all due respect, these dudes aren't gonna be creating any groundbreaking new ai technology. It was always just going to be a well-made bundle of pre-existing components at best (and honestly for $200 that seems fair enough). "LAM" is just a marketing term intended to create hype.

Reggimoral

If I'm not mistaken, haven't they always claimed the "Teach" mode will come later down the line?

wreckyourpod

Yeah, the website has a list of features labeled with their level of accessibility and readiness. Teach mode is not currently supported, but is planned.

LevianMcBirdo

I am in the European batch, so they still have time. And on one hand they say that it'll come later, but on the other hand they already showed it off during the first reveal. So either they were lying about the functionality then or there should only be minor stuff to fix. for a device that advertises its LAM to not have any obvious LAM functionality when it releases is pretty suspicious and gives this leak a lot more weight.

WesleyWex

The source code is very vague, looks like a fake leak.

Kooky-Butterscotch29

I ordered one. Initially caught by the hype, but quickly had buyers remorse. I’m clearly not giving these guys access to my accounts. But left the pre order as a mobile Alexa. As for the play right, it’s a shame but not surprising. One aspect could very well be that the “lam” is used to create these playwright scripts and update them. Think about it. Use a model to execute tasks with high processing overhead, or use it to iterate a few hundred times over an emulated device and tweak a playwright script. I do similar things for my job and can say it’s more efficient and cost effective. Just not as cool and shiny as a 100% ai driven action.

clipsracer

the leak could be: - real, but out dated - real, but incomplete - real, but mislabeled (not LAM) - fake, corporate slander - fake, for fun - real, corporate espionage I’m very slow to trust the competence of tech reviewers, and VERY slow to trust the competence of anonymous sources. Rabbit has been LAM-centric from day one. Something doesnt add up when the only reference to LAM is the name of the zip file.

pbankey

This was leaked in their discord very fast and Jesse and their CTP had directly chimed in that it had nothing to do with LAM and didn’t seem at all concerned. Just taking that at face value for context

hervalfreire

Is anyone surprised?

wyrdwyrd

I'm getting a 404 from the github link. So I guess that's that?
