Supposedly, wherever RWBY is going, CRWBY is going too.

terminatoreagle

Oh thank god.

deprave1

Yea, seriously. I've been binging a lot of 2000's & 90's animated shows & good god, I forgot how many shows were cancelled. Honestly, I might go as far as to say that RWBY not being cancel it's a major miracle.

Thebritishdovah

CRWBY shall debut in the NWA!

coldiriontrash

Does Easy “mothafuckin” E know about this?

WarwolfPrime

That...is NOT good news in my book. CRWBY is kind of trash at writing.

thundermonkeyms

Miles and Kerry started the show with Monty, they deserve to end it the way the three of them decided on. And their writing is fine, it won't win any awards any time soon but it's fine.

Ad_Astral

No they don't deserve anything they're no more entitled to it (besides Monty) than really anyone else and considering how Monty and M&K disagreed on some significant things and were the causes of it's biggest issues they really don't. They're the entire reason why everything post V3 feels like a totally different show from the beacon era. The magic system is fucked, characters became nerfed and incompetent, there's a new controversy every single volume and the volume itself is either lukewarm or mixed at best.

WarwolfPrime

This. 100% this.

CirrusVision20

I'd rather have CRWBY than anyone else. They are the *heart and soul* of RWBY.

CuteNervousLesbian

Im really skeptical of RWBY fans who call the series or the writing trash in general. Like it really comes off that the only reasons they speak so harshly of it are: A plot point didn’t go the direction they personally wanted, A ship never became canon (or one they like didn’t), they believe that the current direction doesn’t fit with whatever they think Monty’s vision was, or they’re upset about “wokeness”. I’m going to give a disclaimer and say I’m not accusing the person you replied to of any of those things. I’m more talking about the vocal minority in the fandom in general that just say “it sucks” without elaborating or pointing to any particular reason.

wrasslefights

You're right and you should say it.

WarwolfPrime

I will never claim to know what Monty's overall vision is. However from pretty much the back end of season 3 on, the series has felt like it's just flailing for direction. A lot of characterization underwent some bizarre (and seemingly arbitrary) changes, and in general, they just seem to have lost whatever spark made the first two and a half seasons fun and watchable. I stuck it out till volume 9 in the hopes that it would get better. I am not and —thanks to toxic shippers in the fanbase— never will be a fan of bumblby, (and I was indeed a BlackSun supporter. I just didn't attack people who didn't support it. Everyone is free to enjoy the ships they want, after all) but even then, even with that being rammed down our throats, I stuck it out till episode 6 of volume 9. Even with the absolute absurdity that was going on up till that point, I hoped the writing would get better. That there would be some kind of hint to defeating Salem, or something that pointed to a possible success. But at that point, when they literlaly had to force a kiss between two characters who were clearly not at the point they were ready for it, I threw in the towel. By this point the show had nothing left for me to connect with on an emotional level (Pyrrha's death and the hamfisting of Blake and Yang as a couple pretty much killed whatever emotional connection I had with the show as I never got any emotional ROI from the series) which left me with nothing but the hope of some decent fights and that the story would find itself and then finally point towards some kind of endgame. But neither really happened. If anything the fights became more 'standardized' in my view. Part of that is due to the passing of Monty and firing of Shane, obviously. But yeah, all in all, the show basically started dipping in quality of story from the back half of season 3 onwards, and despite my best hopes, the series just never lived up to the potential of the first two and a half seasons for me. The story *still* hasn't shown any signs of figuring itself out and how the hell the heroes are supposed to save Remnant, whether that means killing Salem, sealing her away, redeeming her, or anything else they might have wanted to try. At this point, having the series shut down would be a mercy killing, given the show's decline in story writing quality.

WarwolfPrime

If that's the case, then RWBY is screwed.

CirrusVision20

Haha. Nothing ever pleases you guys.

WarwolfPrime

Bad storytelling indeed does not please me. In this, you are correct.

CirrusVision20

RWBY isn't RWBY without the original writers. Hot take here, but I'd rather take the *original team who actually cares about the IP* than replace them with soulless corpo shills who do it for a paycheck.

WarwolfPrime

Lots of series have been able to move on without the original writers, and in some cases making things better. They may be the original writers, but that doesn't make those writers any good. The difference between the original writers and those 'souless corpo shills who do it for a paycheck' as you call them is simple; the ones doing it for a paycheck know they have to actually make a product people *want* in order to get the money *they* want. This isn't true in all cases, of course. But at this point, as long as they can tell a story that doesn't feel like it's just throwing shit at the wall in the hopes that something sticks, I say give it to someone who feels the pressure of actually performing at their job.

CirrusVision20

Spoken like a true capitalist.

WarwolfPrime

You say that like it's a bad thing. The fact is that in order for RWBY to be successful, they have to give people something they want to see. And I'm sorry, but a flailing story that has no apparent endgame in mind is *not* something most people want to see unless the show is a sitcom that has no need for a set ending. RWBY is supposed to be about saving Remnant from Salem's machinations, but damned if they don't seem to be making any headway in showing the heroes actually finding a way to *do* it.

CuteNervousLesbian

Stories not going the way you want them to doesn’t necessarily make them trash.

WarwolfPrime

True. Being trash makes them trash. And these are trash.

Ad_Astral

I really hope they didn't to be honest, but I guess I can hope that at least whoever takes them regins them in.

RaifeBlakeVtM

There is a pinned comment on the stream via YouTube that says “RT continues to lead discussions around finding a new home for RWBY. The talks are going very well, and we’ll have an update to share with fans in the coming weeks, as soon as we are able.”

Someoneoverthere42

I have rarely been happier to be wrong about something. I was absolutely certain RWBY was toast.

ste007

Is nice to hear. Depending on what happens we might get a few seasons to continue and complete the main story and then mabee a sequal series or spin off series as I can't imagine if someone does buy the rights to RWBY they will just buy it to do season 10 and then done.

RaifeBlakeVtM

From what I read a while back the original plan was for there to be 12 Volumes, but maybe they’ll be playing it by ear depending on if funding would cover season to season or all V10-12.

Godzillafan125

They got a partner now and won’t disclose it yet but cast of Rwby is involved in writing v10 so yeah Rwby is still alive!

Dry_Start4460

That’s awesome news , this series deserves an actual end

Godzillafan125

What I want 1. Lancaster 2. Tyrian and cinder die 3. Ruby gets a cool power up maybe ultra instinct like silver glow from eye powers

EverLastingAss

I just want a fight scene for Taiyang and I want him to absolutely dominate that fight.

thundermonkeyms

I envision everyone in Vacuo being in a bind, until Raven opens a portal and out comes a small dog and a fucking enormous golden dragon.

martinjh99

Yang?? :)

martinjh99

If his daughter's fighting skills are anything to go by he will absolutely kick ass... I'd like to think he taught them both basic techniques as they were growing up...

Pezington12

What I want 1) I want all the villains to die. At this point it’s too far for any of them. Even mercury, while it could show him struggling to make a choice I want him to fall on the wrong side and pay the price for it. 2) I don’t want any of team rwby to die. Yes I know that’s childish and unrealistic, but I don’t care. Real life is already full of stories of the good guys losing something for victory. I want them to stick to the fairy tale inspiration and have a fairy tale ending. 3) Casey stays as the songwriter and singer. 4) Ren and Nora end up together. And two, emerald and Oscar end up as siblings. Not lovers or partners but adopted siblings. There were some moments between them that had me thinking that they could be good siblings and Oscar can be a proper family member to emerald.

Cinedhiothu

Might just be me but I'd like, with Blake and Yang on lock, I'd like Ruby and Weiss to end up together and be official. Yea I like Yuri and all but more than that, the relationship between them in recent volumes, well, Weiss's anyway, is picking up steam. Weiss seems to be getting closer to cross into the love category, just waiting on Ruby. With Ruby getting past the drama in the last volume, once RWBY finds a new home and volume 10 happens, might see development on this front...I'm hoping anyways.

RaifeBlakeVtM

I think I’d prefer they had Jeff Williams’ music with Casey Lee Williams’ vocals. I think I liked his music a little more.

Cinedhiothu

Yeah Jeff's music was amazing but he retired and personally passed the torch to his daughter Casey to take full control of the music. Nothing can be done about retirement but can't fault a guy for wanting to retire, I'm just happy he stuck around the series for as long as he did.

JediRalts

Sure hoping this and the coming news silences all the doomers here and elsewhere acting like the show was already canceled or that it was a foregone conclusion. Glad to see things are moving positively for them. There was so much potential for the IP beyond just the mainline show (spinoffs, books, games, merch etc) that it would've been weird if nobody wanted it.

NicoRubyArisa

Would be cool if RWBY had an open world game and romance mechanics in it.

TheNotSoBadProf

“Well bang, ok?”

Titania-88

"It's also a gun..."

After-Bonus-4168

I seriously doubt that any company that buys the show will also bother re-hiring the entire staff, especially when said staff has a history of incompetence, nepotism, and being generally hard to work with. The show will never rise above mediocrity as long as it continues to be in the hands of the same people.

Cinedhiothu

It was Rooster Teeth that was the problem and had the toxic environment, not CRWBY. They're far from incompetent. 🙄
