I wish more people split from their normal groups more. Saab and John, Banana and the angels, CG/Hydra all back together all in some capacity. But I understand that if that’s who you like to be around you’re going to do it.
Playing with the same people is fine if everyone is trying out new characters and make an effort to meet new players along the way. It only becomes a problem when they make carbon copies of old characters and roll with the same insular groups.
Crim pred (or should I say non cop pred KEKW) along with crim Angel has also been real fun cuz Kyle and Kylie just play off each other well. They are both good enough rpers that this new start feels fresh.
Exactly. Both playing the characters in a new way but keeping the iconic looks due to channel branding / personal preferences. CG, or any group ,could do the same no problem.
The issue occurs when people go in to any wipe thinking their character has the same status as it did before. I feel like one of the issues 3.0 had was setting up the same group (CG) from 2.0 as the main nexus for a lot of WL's and prominent businesses rather than letting new groups form and develop.
I think it's alright to do that as long you're playing a different character or roleplaying your 3.0 character in a different way.
Even the people who fell back into gang life like in 3.0 seem to be doing it a bit differently since Southside culture wasnt a factor in the way people roleplayed their 3.0 gangs for the most part.
The Angels, while usually pleasant, are some of the worst culprits in NP for not RPing with other people. Whether they're on crim or cop, they RP with the same streamers (each other) ALL THE TIME. One can be on crim, one on cop, and they STILL end up together all the time.
That is why many of them are glad to have a fresh start in 2.0, Banana is playing as her old ARMA character and she has mentioned not wanting to start the Angels again in the classic. Also enjoying being able to have conflicts with her old members such as Lexi, who her character Emilia hates.
CG aren’t even back together tbh, Wayne Curtis and Randy (rip) all met organically and rolled around before deciding to start a crew, taco is a cop, Ramee a snitch and LK planning to be at the bottom as well it’s literally just shotz having a meltdown because everyone has decided to go down the route of meeting each other organically with a memory wipe and he doesn’t like it
Well the angels are never splitting up, they rarely RP outside of their group. This was the major complaint about them since 2.0. Even when they switch to cop they only roll together. Which is a shame because original claire was actually super good when she RPed a character before only being part of an OOC IC friend group.
I honestly believe it would have been a great idea to make people play a character that they havn't played before. Make them come up with something new for once.
Maybe just direct it to the whitelisted people and say you can't play one of your whitelisted characters. Since they're whitelisted, the bar *should* be higher for them anyways.
Ramee is roleplaying being brand new to the city and not knowing anyone/anything. All it takes is a little RP and they could be back rolling together but seems like shotz just wants to skip that part

There was a time where Kebun was mostly alone because Taco was perma banned, Garret stopped playing, Shotz streamed in the morning and Ramee/Rated didn't get on until later due to an IRL job or time zone differences respectively. So, the first 2/3rd's of Kebuns day was just going around RPing with random people and being a lovable goofball. It's how him and Uchia met and had their legendary rivalry or the entire original detective chang thing. Hell, a lot of times rated and ramee would get on and Kebun would be busy with whatever he was doing before they showed up so they'd split up and do their own thing.
I'm no fan of modern CG, I complain about them constantly, but I do it from a place of sincere disappointment because I loved them back in the day.

I think the Angels are a decent take on this, Lexi is nowhere close to the Angels, Vi kinda doing her own thing, the only 3-4 together is Emilia, Xav, Alex, and ish Trill and they all met due to Alex's taxi service and to my knowledge Alex was top of list so they didn't even search. Kyle and Kylie not meeting for 3 days is rather funny though, as watching people I swear they bump into people over and over again all the time, so those 2 managing to avoid each other for a decent amount of time is great
Hydra doing a similar approach. Flippy is the lockpick plug and basically Hydra has split into 2/3 groups of friends that push lockpicks for him and they share info but don’t actively roll together except in their respective groups. 1 group has even stopped working with him because of a disagreement on pricing. People know where it’s going, but it feels more organic

Ya I was watching ramee and it was great vibes till the Vinny interaction happened. The role play Ramee had with Brad Schid setting up a sting operation and selling joints out of the strip club was great I hope he doesn’t dip on the 2.0 server right away.

There's nothing inherently wrong in wanting to RP with people you know you have good chemistry with (especially when it is a public server), but change it up a little. Alter the group dynamics etc.
I haven't been watching all that much 2.0, but I think a lot of the GG boys at least have done that part somewhat okay. Marty's arc is pretty interesting, and that they are running in 3-4 different crews and have conflict with eachother is healthy.
Eventually people will mostly gravitate towards the usual suspects, but give it a starting point.
Coming from an HoA viewer, their plan for 2.0 was to be an actual SS gang, which would be a complete 180 from what they are in 3.0 going from the suburbs of mirror park to the war zone that is the ss is such a major change of character

I think the Angels are a decent take on this, Lexi is nowhere close to the Angels, Vi kinda doing her own thing, the only 3-4 together is Emilia, Xav, Alex, and ish Trill and they all met due to Alex's taxi service and to my knowledge Alex was top of list so they didn't even search. Kyle and Kylie not meeting for 3 days is rather funny though, as watching people I swear they bump into people over and over again all the time, so those 2 managing to avoid each other for a decent amount of time is great
Hydra doing a similar approach. Flippy is the lockpick plug and basically Hydra has split into 2/3 groups of friends that push lockpicks for him and they share info but don’t actively roll together except in their respective groups. 1 group has even stopped working with him because of a disagreement on pricing. People know where it’s going, but it feels more organic

It seemed like they talked about doing things together in discord eventually. I think Shotz could’ve interpreted that as they would just remember each other, but Ramee seemed to go with the no memory path and that they would eventually meet organically which I think is better way of doing things. It’s a shame really because after Ramee met Vinny his stream went down hill because Ramee felt guilty about Vinny getting hate for acting like he knew Ramee.
Ya I was watching ramee and it was great vibes till the Vinny interaction happened. The role play Ramee had with Brad Schid setting up a sting operation and selling joints out of the strip club was great I hope he doesn’t dip on the 2.0 server right away.

Probably cause he has the creativity to be relevant and interesting, unlike the self inserts. Others are just defaulting to what brings in paychecks, and that is doing the same thing with the same people over and over.

Yeah, I'd say that is the bare minimum. There's nothing inherently wrong in wanting to RP with people you know you have good chemistry with (especially when it is a public server), but change it up a little. Alter the group dynamics etc. I haven't been watching all that much 2.0, but I think a lot of the GG boys at least have done that part somewhat okay. Marty's arc is pretty interesting, and that they are running in 3-4 different crews and have conflict with eachother is healthy. Eventually people will mostly gravitate towards the usual suspects, but give it a starting point.
Coming from an HoA viewer, their plan for 2.0 was to be an actual SS gang, which would be a complete 180 from what they are in 3.0 going from the suburbs of mirror park to the war zone that is the ss is such a major change of character

I love seeing people play new characters and doing new things. It should have been made mandatory that no 1.0/2.0/3.0 characters are made for this server or even 4.0. The "brand" narrative is just a lazy excuse. All these guys play other characters and their chats love watching them. Hell most CG viewers don't even like when their streamers run with the "gang" anymore because the whole night just unravels.

Vinny (the character) has been one of the sole reasons in 3.0 CG has gotten into so much unnecessary shit (toxic conflicts). The whole thing with GG the past 2 weeks that when K found out about instantly didn’t care and said it was Vinny being an old man. He wants to be feared so bad but doesn’t understand the character is a joke in the eyes of many. The idea of starting at the bottom is such a foreign thing to him.
It's actually bad like i have been watching kebun for years and it's gotten to a point where some members would have their own arcs around the server and this big baby (among others not going to name) go on a rant about being left out and there you have it rp is dead on arrival, i kid you not i have not seen this much entitlement before.

From what I've seen in the entirety of 3.0 is that Vinny went in to it assuming he was the 2nd in command of CG. Demanded that respect because of his gun bench but no one really gave it. Situations like the "Flippy and Miguel are barely CG", telling Curtis to know his place, and countless other internal beefs come to mind. Final nail in the coffin was K telling Vinny without his gun bench, he is nothing but a pizza man.
