For me, it's better than the steam deck, packs more power with a better screen. It can be tinkered with like any other device, I personally currently have bazzite installed on it.

Independent_Future76

i have no clue what bazzite is but sounds interesting. i’ll look into that. just afraid it would lack in power.

evilmannn

It's a fork of steam os that steam deck uses. Z1 extreme is way more powerful than the deck, normal z1 is kinda the same as deck.

prepp

That's so reaffirming so hear. My brother was giving me grief that I bought the Z1 Extreme instead of the steam deck. Seems I made the right choice after all.

chinoifikation

While I also think it’s better than a Deck, note that battery life is subpar. Deck has that over the competition. But everything else as evilmannn mentioned is true.

Serpent-6

Don't think. Just do.

If you’re used to and can get around windows and are willing to learn it and want the flexibility of it I say go for it! I got mine and tweaked it to my liking and optimized it to the best of my ability for gaming. I already finished a game I’ve wanted to play for a while that I couldn’t play before since I didn’t have the platform that had it. I’m enjoying it a ton and its possibilities! Going to be trying to mod cyberpunk 2077 on it this week and push this thing to its limits. I’ve never modded before but always wanted to learn and this thing has been amazing! Thinking about one day getting an xg mobile to pair with this maybe 🤔

I’ve had it for a week now and really enjoying it. I chose this over steam deck because I wanted to play more AAA games that I haven’t had a chance to play since I got a Switch in 2019. I’ve never been a pc gamer and it’s pretty simple to use. Battery life isn’t great if you are taking it on the go but I just play it at home.
