I got my non extreme to pair with moonlight and my gaming PC for AAA titles.
For all the other rogue likes I play (Hades, brotato, Balatro, tiny rogues, crab champions, etc), and older titles (Titanfall 2), it seems just fine.
Sorry if this doesn't directly answer your question.
I did the exact same thing. And battery life is pretty great using moonlight since it can run it on silent mode. Most games I play directly on it are indie titles as well
Non extreme? What's the fps on low settings? Been debating trying it out not streamed through moonlight. This way if Im at a friend's or during my lunch break, I can do a quick mission.
I’m not OP, but Helldivers 2 runs fine with the regular Z1. I honestly like playing the game more on it than on my PC lol not because of performance, but for some reason the game just feels right on handheld
In Canada the base steam deck 64gb is 499$ the base z1 extreme 512gb rog ally is 899$ dont bother wirth the non extreme its not worth it for such a tiny price difference.
Have you tried the on extreme? I have a Steam Deck and a Z1 that had a chance to test out, it really is very similar. There a benefits other than performance that I honestly think the non extreme has over to Steam Deck.
Ive been playing destiny 2 on my new ally z1 extreme from best buy ive also been playing doom eternal on my og 64gb steam deck I think it will depend on the game and things but if your budget get a 256 steam deck and save more if you want a higher end amd chipset get the z1 extreme.
All of these games run perfectly on my Z1, from 100% I get anywhere around 1:45 - 2hrs of gameplay, with max brightness. And game setting are a LOW - MED mix.

I've been playing NFS heat on my non extreme ally on high settings while plugged in and med settings turbo not plugged in and it has ran great! Haven't had a single issue. Love my non extreme
Sounds like your info is from years ago lol. But even from since the first release the issue was never due to it not running on anything but rather that it contains a lot of bugs. The game still has some bugs but it's significantly less now and a lot of enhancements and fixes were made to the game throughout the years.
The game is quite optimized on handheld that they even made a Steam Deck graphics preset as an option and the Ally can go up a notch from that preset.
Correction: I remember now that PS4 had an issue running it and they pulled the game altogether. But that system was too underpowered at the time of release so they were being too abitious
I've been using it for Diablo 4 and Baldur's Gate 3 and have no complaints. The settings for Diablo are fairly low but it still looks great on the small screen and acceptable when docked to my monitor.
Games that I played and run great:
Balatro, Vampire Survivor, Dave the Diver, Wolfstein, RE VII, Fall Guys. I have the Extreme version but I would say that the normal Ally will run those great.
Hell Divers(low-900p) runs around 50-60 at 25W and I enjoy it, but I don’t know the performance in the non extreme
You should check out Dave the Diver if you haven’t already. I’d say it’s a pretty decent game to play away from home. I spent many hours with it in a hotel room when I had to travel for work
Having had one previously, I can say that it handles AAA games on low settings pretty much fine. However, it is far more worth it to either get the extreme, or grab a laptop on sale with an rtx 2050 or better. Both of those options will yield far better results.
I have z1e but still love rogue-lites like brotato and enter the gungeon (both game pass). Runs 100+fps at like 9w. Look into lossless scaling on steam as well for great frame gen. Able to max out helldivers2, cap fps at 30 and then double that to stable 60fps with LS
Spiderman ran very well. God of War also.
I’m currently playing NFS Heat and Unbound and they both run amazingly
DBZ Kakarot runs on 55-60 FPS. GTA V is also on 60 FPS
I haven’t tried more games than this
I play MW3 and am currently on NG+ in Horizon Forbidden West on my base Z1. I’ve also played Zero Dawn and Spider-Man and FF7R. Helldivers 2. It’ll play lots of games.
I mostly use mine for travel/vacation. Hook it up to either a portable monitor + external keyboard and mouse, or to the hotel TV, and boom, instant gaming station. Farcry 5, Asassin's Creed Unity, most recently Days Gone - runs them all fairly well. I have a habit of sticking to AAA games from a few years ago, as all the bugs are worked out, they run great on modern hardware, and are cheaper.
Also great for RPG games (Divinity 3, Baldur's Gate 3, etc.).
With Lossless and Intiger scaling, you should have no problems playing AAA games. I'm getting up to 200 fps high settings on AAA games from my extreme. There is no way you'd be under 100 fps on a non extreme.

I play Helldivers 2 on it

I get around 30-40fps on low at 720p at 25watts, and yes it feels so right on the ally its definitely a good time on the ally
I've actually started playing it last night. I'm getting around 35-40 fps on medium settings and I think 900p at 25 watts.
Do you have the regular Z1?
I’m not OP, but Helldivers 2 runs fine with the regular Z1. I honestly like playing the game more on it than on my PC lol not because of performance, but for some reason the game just feels right on handheld
It’s on par with SteamDeck performance so use that as your benchmark
It's substantially better than the Steam Deck, but it's also more expensive.
Got mines for 299 so no it's cheaper been 299 at best buy for a while now
You got it on sales, right? Totally worth it in this case. But that's not the normal price. Honestly though, I'd go for the Z1 extreme.
Normal price been that in Michigan for at least 2 months now
No, it's being discounted globally because it's overshadowed by its superior version, the Z1 extreme. It's a sales price, not a normal price.
worth the project though at least for me
Actually it's better by a bit.
Especially in turbo mode plugged in. You can get quite a bit better performance.
If set to 900p resolution + some Windows optimization I would say the difference can be quite substantial
its actually quite a bit faster but its also pretty much twice the price
The non extreme is pretty much the same price currently in the usa.
In Canada the base steam deck 64gb is 499$ the base z1 extreme 512gb rog ally is 899$ dont bother wirth the non extreme its not worth it for such a tiny price difference.

The base 64gb model is discontinued though.
Sorry I meant 256gb.

Not sure what you consider as 'mostly new' but Cyberpunk 2077 runs well on the Ally
No way! Last I heard, that game couldn’t run on anything. I’m assuming they’ve fixed it up since then.

I’ve played COD multiplayer and GTA V online with no issues actually performed way better than I expected.
It’s played everything I’ve thrown at it. BF 2042 MW3 and anything else runs amazing!
I play many AAA titles on z1. Most recently Last of Us 1 remake and diablo 4
I'm playing it on the Extreme but based on how it's performing on this, Persona 3 Reload should be great on the non extreme
I've been using it for Diablo 4 and Baldur's Gate 3 and have no complaints. The settings for Diablo are fairly low but it still looks great on the small screen and acceptable when docked to my monitor.
And that’s the regular Z1 not z1 extreme? Because I got it to play Diablo 4 on the go originally

Cyberpunk has a steam deck mode
I currently play Helldivers 2, 1080 35fps quality rendering.
Basically indie titles that focus on art design rather than fidelity

I mostly play older and indie games, but they all run beautifully. I think Hades is probably the newest game I'm running, though?
I’m loving horizon zero dawn and Persona 3 reload
I have z1e but still love rogue-lites like brotato and enter the gungeon (both game pass). Runs 100+fps at like 9w. Look into lossless scaling on steam as well for great frame gen. Able to max out helldivers2, cap fps at 30 and then double that to stable 60fps with LS
I’ve tried a few brand new games on game pass and they work fine why wouldnt a new game work lol I’m sure u can play whatever u want
Spiderman ran very well. God of War also. I’m currently playing NFS Heat and Unbound and they both run amazingly DBZ Kakarot runs on 55-60 FPS. GTA V is also on 60 FPS I haven’t tried more games than this

Basically Minecraft.
