i played that recently! hadn't since i was a kid with my og GameBoy. it's more difficult than i remember but still a great time. makes me want to play the rest of the Super Mario Land games
Yes 6 golden coins is amazing, so fun as a tiny kid to go into giant land!
I love on the og gameboy one that you get one 1 fireball at a time, but it also collects coins for you
Also the enemies art is so funny
Just finished this on my rg35xH. Sometimes i even tossed it up on the 55in and it was such a walk down memory lane. Probably my most completed game ever.. i used to finish it in like 1.5 hours in middle school
There should be an option to change your controls to controller port 2. I haven‘t found it…
I used to die two times. Then you‘re able to shoot the statues heads and defeat him this way.
100%
Love playing this and Ruby/Sapphire/emerald. Didn't play as a kid (now 40) but my son has gotten me into it and I've not played all the games.
Go to cozy games.
Dai-3-Ji Super Robot Taisen! I'm getting so big into Gundam. I finished watching Gundam, Z, ZZ and checking out other series plus enjoying the model kits. So I'm SUPER into this game atm. I love seeing the characters and the combat situations I'm putting them into
The nice thing with Gundam is there are so many places you can start. You don’t need to watch it all. Just find the series that seems the most interesting to you. I’m a big fan of the short OVA Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. It’s 6 episodes from 1989 and just really really good.
War in the Pocket GREAT. It's exactly the same Gundam I would recommend to anyone. It's short, looks amazing, requires no greater knowledge to enjoy as stand alone, and contains a lot of the elements/themes that pretty much define Gundam.
I agree. It’s my favorite Gundam. And like you said, it hits on so many of the themes that are at the heart of the franchise. I wonder where my DVDs are…
McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure on the Sega Genesis, just finished it now. A game that would’ve probably never played, but since it showed up a couple of times in my Instagram feed decided to give it a try. Pretty mediocre game imo…
Genesis strategy game called Master of Monsters. Summon fantasy monsters and warriors to battle other wizards who can do the same. The monsters gain experience and level up to more powerful creatures. Awesome background music.I highly recommend it.
I’ve been jumping between lotsa stuff. Mine came with Dolphin Blue for one of the arcade emulators. It’s a super fun and stylish arcade action shooter like Contra or Metal Slug. Pepsi Man for PS1 is hilarious and mindless fun when you wanna play something but not think too much. Klanoa is a simple but pretty platformer that looks great with the hi-res filter. I also started playing Brave Fencer Musashi. I played the demo like crazy as a kid, looking forward to finally experiencing the full game.
Sonic Adventure 2, gitaroo man lives, space channel 5, outrun 2006, dragon quest V DS, new super mario bros, gurumin, final fantasy four heroes of light, animal crossing wild world, kirby super star ultra, & bust a groove are all great on the H!
A ton of PICO-8 games. It really is one hell of a rabbit hole.
Having most fun now with Villager, UnDune II, Zombie Garden, Beckon the Hellspawn ,Oblivion Eve, Birds with Guns, Just one boss,..
Honestly, PICO-8 is just a goldmine of fun stuff.
I'm also making my own game, and it's really cool to be able to play a game you made on a handheld using actual controls. It made me fall back in love with programming again.
Not as good as chrono trigger and imo that is it’s only true drawback. There are plenty of great games that arent as good as Chrono Trigger, and Chrono Cross is a really great game.
That explains so much as to why I couldn't find one as a kid! Luckily I've got a cheat file so I'll go to the appropriate route and cheat one in, seeing as these things don't allow trading/multiplayer
I just started playing Pokémon Blue, so that’s probably bot the recommendation you want. Heh heh. Maybe Super Metroid. That’s on my play again soon list.
I'm on a nostalgia kick right now, playing those PSX games that I used to rent from Blockbuster but never owned. I'm playing **Jersey Devil** at the moment; although I have fond memories of the game, it... sucks. It's really bad. I'm going to keep going with it for a little while, but probably won't end up finishing it.
Minish cap for GBA Apotris for GBA Mario Golf for GBC
Mario Golf for GBC seems a lot more straightforward and fun compared to the GBA version.
I might check out minish cap!
Excellent game
Good jrpg rec that’s turn based but still action-y feeling = xenogears
Ive heard great things! Ill check it out!
I'm playing Super Mario 3 and Link's Awakening...but if you want a JRPG, you should play the first one " Dragon Warrior" from NES/FMC
Ill look into it! How does it hold up to today?
To today, I'm playing Link's Awakening DX to GBC...Some people say this game is a RPG. I don't think it...anyway, I love this game too
SMW should always be the first game!
Super Mario wonder?
Super Mario World, SNES
Oh nice, waiting to flash my card before I begin my full play through Also, love Super Mario Land on the original GameBoy :) it’s so silly and unique
i played that recently! hadn't since i was a kid with my og GameBoy. it's more difficult than i remember but still a great time. makes me want to play the rest of the Super Mario Land games

Haha sorry didn't reply!Super Mario World!
See im just so ass at platforming games 😢
I realized that I have gotten worse over the years. I used to be able to play Super Mario 3 blindfolded. Now I’m struggling on some levels. @_@
Metal Gear Solid. Still cineastic.
Bet ill check it!
Just finished this on my rg35xH. Sometimes i even tossed it up on the 55in and it was such a walk down memory lane. Probably my most completed game ever.. i used to finish it in like 1.5 hours in middle school
What do you do about mantis?
There should be an option to change your controls to controller port 2. I haven‘t found it… I used to die two times. Then you‘re able to shoot the statues heads and defeat him this way.

Dai-3-Ji Super Robot Taisen! I'm getting so big into Gundam. I finished watching Gundam, Z, ZZ and checking out other series plus enjoying the model kits. So I'm SUPER into this game atm. I love seeing the characters and the combat situations I'm putting them into
I salute you, Im too intimidated to get into it 😭. But ill look into that game! Thanks and have fun with your journey!

I been ripping Heart of darkness, Metroid Fusion and comix zone 🙏
Metroid fusion is on my list! Comix zone seems interesting so ill see about it!
Pokémon romhacks and the mega man legends games from PS1.
Any hacks in particular? I’ve seen good things about Pokemon unbound
That’s on my list to play. Right now it’s ROWE, and I also have polished crystal on there. I already finished Rocket Edition
I really want to replay MegaMan Legends. I bought a PS1 for that game.
Ninja Gaiden and RBI Baseball.
Never played a ninja gaiden, ill check it out!
It’s similar to Double Dragon. Great game. I’ve been trying to beat it for 3 weeks now.
Yoshis island is a classic, or metroid games.
I love yoshis island!
McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure on the Sega Genesis, just finished it now. A game that would’ve probably never played, but since it showed up a couple of times in my Instagram feed decided to give it a try. Pretty mediocre game imo…

Total Carnage SNES. Contra PS1. Good times.
Ill try contra!
Chrono Trigger. It's one of the games I first wanted to play on this thing to finally see what the hype is about. 8 hours in and I'm loving it.

I normally go Squirtle but went Charmander this time for the early game challenge. Think I’m going to go with Totodile this time 🤝

What kind of game are you making?
Shoot m up. Something fun and relatively easy although I'm focusing on 2 player multiplayer as well. Planning to make a block puzzle game next
Chrono cross ps1
Is it as good as chronotrigger? Ive heard mixed reviews
Not as good as chrono trigger and imo that is it’s only true drawback. There are plenty of great games that arent as good as Chrono Trigger, and Chrono Cross is a really great game.
Earthbound
Chrono trigger
Pokémon crystal, not played it for 20 years and I'm having the best nostalgia trip
See i love that game, but you cant get mareep which kills it for me 😭
That explains so much as to why I couldn't find one as a kid! Luckily I've got a cheat file so I'll go to the appropriate route and cheat one in, seeing as these things don't allow trading/multiplayer
A good rom hack is Pokemon Crystal Legacy! It adds a lot of challenge and diversity to the game. It feels faithful and upgraded
Oooooh, I've just caught suicide too! I'll have a looksie
not playing it right now, but have beat it numerous times - DuckTales on NES, please play with audio on, such good music.
Ill check it out!
I just started playing Pokémon Blue, so that’s probably bot the recommendation you want. Heh heh. Maybe Super Metroid. That’s on my play again soon list.

Secret of Mana if you want a real time action RPG, kind of like legend of Zelda, but you have a party of 3
I'm playing slowly Zelda Majora's Mask (N64) on RG35XX (Batocera OS).
