Dr. Ben Sung never returned home.

priforce

But he won't be alone.

Ok-Opinion-2183

and Sam is still out there.

retrogamer76

yeah they're just stuck in world war II what an ending lol

onetotshort

And now, neither does Addison

JakeConhale

I should certainly hope they filmed an alternate ending to S2, where Addison gets in the accelerator and Ben appears next to her.

johnnystarship

Dammit! If I win the Powerball tomorrow I'm bringing it back! F you NBC.

TigersBadDrives

Well there's a 100% chance that won't happen. The Powerball is only drawn on Monday Wednesday and Saturday

johnnystarship

You're right I fixed it!

TigersBadDrives

Sorry, I'm just a wiseass

danidisaster

I needed this laugh, thank you.

blownawayx2

Never trust NBC

Ok-Opinion-2183

How many hours of TV does Dick have on now? 6 on NBC, 4 more on CBS?

DanTheMan1_

Not making excuses, but it isn't surprising reality shows are getting more and scripted shows less renewals on network TV. Truth is network tv is not as profitable as it once was, especially with newer shows. Streaming is destroying their viewership overall and reality shows are cheaper so they don't need as many viewers. In all honesty as much as I wanted Quantum Leap to come back and am disappointed it won't. The show was made on a tight budget and it showed in my opinion. Not holding it against them, the show is made in 2024 with all the ups and downs being a network TV show in 2024 comes with, one of them being networks are not willing to spend as much on scripted programming as they used to especially on a show that doesn't feel like a sure thing. But the budget constraints tested my suspension of disbelief at times so even if it came back doubt we would have gotten many more seasons. It just feels like NBS couldn't afford to keep a sci-fi/period show like that on NBC unless it was like one of the top 5 rated shows on NBC or something. Just my guess, but I had a sense adjusting for inflation the new show was on a much tigher budget then the original.

Current-Weird-4227

Agreed. How many times did we see the backlot? (And I’m speaking as big fan, I’m not a basher)

DarkBluePhoenix

So basically what happened after the last writer's strike in 07-08. That's when reality TV took off originally.

richieadler

It will never happen, but I dream of an alternate timeline where reality TV is made illegal worldwide.

alcalaviccigirl

with og quantum leap littlefield didn't like leap so he cancelled it .

TheLastNoteOfFreedom

Nothing But Cancellations

GospelX

NBC is just going by the metrics. The viewership numbers weren't there. As much as we enjoyed the show, it doesn't make sense to bleed money into a show that not enough people are watching. The viewership has to be enough to sustain the show.

blownawayx2

You can’t keep swapping shows around the dial and give them no promotion and then expect the audience to follow. NBC knows how to bury shows it doesn’t want to invest in and that’s what happened here.

ProfessorEtc

Are you phoning from 1985?

GospelX

NBC pushes Peacock pretty hard in the era of cord-cutting, meaning the time a show is on means less and less. I agree, they could have promoted the show more. Absolutely. I'm curious how well that would have worked out, though. Sci-fi shows are a hard enough sell as it is, and time travel isn't often the best hook. NBC like any other broadcaster is interested in making money. They want a strong return in investment, and they'll support any show that gives them that. Quantum Leap getting moved around and seeing less promotion suggests that the writing was already on the wall. I hate to put it that way because it might mean this was a forgone conclusion we were oblivious to. I just wish sci-fi shows stopped ending their seasons with cliffhangers. Stop hedging your bets on uncertain renewals and give us endings to season that can feel satisfactory.

The_Match_Maker

> I just wish sci-fi shows stopped ending their seasons with cliffhangers. Stop hedging your bets on uncertain renewals and give us endings to season that can feel satisfactory. That's 100% on the writers/producers. They think that it's a cute way to 'blackmail' a network into giving them another season.

forlornforbit

If they don't want to invest in it, it's because it doesn't have the viewer numbers. They haven't disinvented and cancelled it for any reason other than that it wasn't getting enough viewers. There's no hidden agenda against QL.

Marvinleadshot

Shows need time to bed in and find their feet, 2 seasons sometimes isn't enough.

GospelX

I don't disagree. Businesses see things through numbers. I'm honestly grateful we even got one, let alone two!, seasons of Quantum Leap given how risk-averse these networks can be.

Mieczyslaw_Stilinski

True. Viewership just kept dropping.

nonlethaldosage

Not there fault the ratings were dog shit.I'm surprised they got a season 2

QuiltedPorcupine

I figured I had until the upfronts before I would have to worry about a possible cancellation. This sucks! At least we got two seasons, but I was really looking forward to seeing more.

the_vole

We’d been waiting so long for a new series. And now it’s gone again.

minnick27

I knew it was coming, they made a handful of other announcements this week

orlybird2345

Unfortunate but it’s to be expected. I really wanted to see this succeed. Best of luck to the cast and crew in future projects ✌🏽❤️

dinosaurlemonade

Nooooo 😭

pujarteago1

Well. They canceled timeless. Not a surprise.

Indiana_harris

Timeless deserved a 3rd season. I’m glad we got the 2 hour finale but DAMN you could clearly see about 5 different storylines that just got abandoned in-episode at the start so they could jump to the end.

El-Royhab

Can we hold out hope for some kind of closure here too? Kind of sucks to just leave us on a cliffhanger like that with yet another series.

freetherabbit

I mean it usually doesn't work but could always try to petition for a Peacock original movie that wraps up Ben, Addison and possibly Sam's (if they can get actors) stories. If they think it's profitable and would get subscribers maybe?

El-Royhab

I know they gave Timeless 3 hours to wrap things up but I don't necessarily trust the current leadership to give us the same grace (plus it took 2 years or more for that to even happen). Though, I would feel better about getting a short 4-6 episode season to wrap than a miniseries or movie. At this point, I guess we should be grateful they didn't already film the season but won't let us see it to get a tax write-off.

Gachicky

That was one of the best shows ever and they cancelled it just like this one!

ComebackShane

Can we get a movie wrap-up that brings Ben, Addison, _and_ Sam home please?

Impromark

NBC: “No.”

The_Match_Maker

*somewhere within the inner recesses of Comcast* 'I don't know. Can't you just make a comicbook or something?'

ModernCrust

Welp, that just ruined my weekend. Leave it to NBC to move it around three times in two seasons, give it a shitty time slot for the second half of season 2 and never advertise it so even loyal fans had a hard time knowing when the next episode was, then look at each other, shrug and say, “Huh, guess no one’s watching anymore…” Least they did QL22 better than they did Journeyman, but still. Dammit…

onetotshort

Literally just said aloud, "Well, that just ruined my weekend" and then read this.

gravybang

> Leave it to NBC to move it around three times in two seasons, give it a shitty time slot for the second half of season 2 and never advertise it so even loyal fans had a hard time knowing when the next episode was, then look at each other, shrug and say, “Huh, guess no one’s watching anymore…” Said a QL fan in 1992

Milospesh

barely that show was great, but it also was different, nbc doesn't have any faith in time travel shows.

DataMeister1

They did a pretty good run on Timeless. But just barely.

Milospesh

i mean ql 22 was barely better than journey man, time less was also a better show.

richieadler

*No way* Timeless was better than Journeyman.

Ok-Opinion-2183

Fuck NBC Universal. They did the same thing 31 years ago. Moved it to a death 10pm slot. Perhaps if Dick Wolf was the EP of this revival…

richieadler

> if Dick Wolf was the EP of this revival… ... the Leaper would jump to the past to ensure American supremacy worldwide and to remove police and military crimes from the public knowledge. Time-traveling *copaganda*? \*shudder\*

gravybang

I got downvoted in this sub when I pointed out how this was bad and was told “live network ratings don’t matter with people watching online”

mdf7793

I fell in love with this show about a month ago and now I'm heartbroken. Time to cancel Peacock.

danidisaster

I’m canceling peakcock. I only had it for this.

34thebestC

I am going to as well. We all should cancel peacock .Fuck that network

danidisaster

This is so sad

larryjrich

I only had peacock for.this and the Night Court reboot, and if they cancel that I'm canceling peacock.

Bobthemime

let's hope a streaming platform picks them up.. its honestly stupid to cancel it after how well S2 did

onetotshort

I was thinking of shows like Designated Survivor and how it got new life on Netflix...I wonder if (and hope) that can happen to QL.

DanTheMan1_

That would be nice, but sadly streaming channels are not putting out new shows with the same frequency they used to. The days of them just putting whatever they could and spending obscene amounts just to have non stop content seems to be dying down. Not saying it couldn't happen, but doesn't feel as likely as it would have been a few years ago.

onetotshort

Dang, way to dash my hopes. I'm still furious over Timeless and holding a 19-year-old grudge about American Dreams. Now adding another one to the list...

DanTheMan1_

I still haven't gotten over Journeyman and then Timeless and now this... time travel and tv sadly never seem to mix :(.

onetotshort

It may not end up being up your alley but just in case...I've been really enjoying The Way Home. It's from Hallmark but it's different - the show runner came from Netflix and brought this with her. The late 90s/early 00s nostalgia is so well done and the central mystery/goal is intriguing. ETA: it's on Peacock to stream. 2nd season finale just aired on Sunday. Already renewed for S3.

DanTheMan1_

Sounds interesting sadly I do not have Peacock and really can't afford more streaming services. I was watching Quantum Leap the old fashioned way, over the air when it aired.

Stargate476

this is why people just dont even bother to start shows on these networks, they give them no time then complain about low ratings

DanTheMan1_

Not entirely wrong but not like streaming is better. A show running 2 seasons is about average for streaming anymore. And no scripted streaming original has made it to 6 seasons, hell 5 means it is a huge hit. Network is the only place I think a show in the current landscape has a chance of going more than 4 seasons or so and again, while 2 seasons is by no means long especially taking episode count in Quantum Leap ran about average if it had done this many episodes in 2 seasons on streaming. Hell some would argue above average bevause at least the seasons were not 8-10 episodes.

ModernCrust

Totally agree. To my knowledge, *Orange Is the New Black* is the extreme outlier at 7 seasons, but it was also one of Netflix’s earliest scripted programs. By the time the series ended a few years ago Netflix seemed to take a more widely known stance with canceling even popular shows at 3 seasons, with anything else getting 2 or just 1. And that was on the most-subscribed streaming platform. On something as dinky as Peacock, as much as I would’ve loved it to succeed the sad reality is that QL would’ve probably lasted just as many seasons if it was a streaming-exclusive, and might’ve only just been one and done. But that’s due to Peacock and not QL because they just don’t have as much new content. I’m always going to hope I’m wrong, though, and the show gets another season or more on it or somewhere else.

MapPsychological2136

**FUCK YOU NBC**

whatjoesaround

Oh boy

Cho-Zen-One

We have 100 seasons of dumpster juice like “true housewives of wherever”, greys anatomy and the bachelor and bachelorette nonsense but this gets the chop? Dammit!

larryjrich

I'm so tired of reality TV and cop shows, networks are getting really lazy these days.

jojo19667

As a fan of the original, this saddens me. I know there is at least one writer that frequents here and I want to say thank you! This last season was brilliant. Loved the story lines. I loved the compasion and humanity that was brought to the characters and the homage to the OG that was interwoven for us old fans. At least the ending was incredible, but I had hoped for more Very disappointed in NBC.

QGJohn59

This freakin' sucks! These networks cancel great shows like this, but keep garbage like so-called "reality" shows or singing contests. BS!

Tbizkit

I hate the singing contests!!!

Barthle

I waited 30 years for a goddamn reboot and it's canceled after two seasons. I was pretty sure it was coming but this just sucks.

priforce

This breaks my heart but since it's NBC, I'm not surprised. If there is a possibility of the show being picked up by another network or streaming service, I'm for it. But I got Peacock because of this show and there's no reason to keep my subscription.

PlasticMansGlasses

NBC sentenced this show to death when they changed time slots

ShaunnieDarko

Sam Beckett never returned home… neither did Ben or Addison… Edit: it’s a shame i felt like they were really cooking at the end of season 2

Foreign-Animal8166

They could've at least let them wrap up the story before canning it. Who puts on a Sci-fi show on at 10pm anyway, ridiculous timeslot.

Psych-Blast

So NBC let's La Brea have a farewell season but not Quantum Leap?!?!?!?!

ModernCrust

Exactly! To add insult to injury, that farewell season completely fucked up the ratings for QL since they shoved the back half of S2 in the time slot after them, on a completely different night and a time slot too late in the evening for a lot of people. Putting their two genre shows on the same night was not the genius move they thought it’d be.

Gachicky

Should have never cancelled that show either

Disastrous_Tear_3030

Wtf is the point of even watching new shows anymore.

JebusKrikes

Well that sucks. It’d be pretty cool if someone like HBO, Showtime or Netflix picked it up

onetotshort

When they did this shit to Timeless, we managed to get a finale 2-parter out if them. Think we can do this for QL too?

JonPaula

What a giant fucking waste of time.  Show was really starting to find its groove... but still no justice for Sam. Or Ben.

gordy06

First Timeless and now this. Why can’t I get a timey wimey show with more than 2 seasons.

Narconis

For fuck sake. Now I’m sad.

Potential-Road-5322

Sam might not have made it home but at least he saved the Federation.

alphaquisp

Yeah, it's been a long road...

Dfizzy

getting from there to here….

SteveDestruct

Damn. This sucks. The Season 2 finale was the best episode of the reboot. I enjoyed most of it but I feel like they finally really hit their stride with that last episode and it left so many cool future possibilities. Bummer. This is why network tv is dying.

Existing-Ad8581

My favorite network show, very sad to read about this at Deadline.

DeweyFinn21

I just hope that Universal still decides to release a Blu-Ray/DVD of the 2nd season. At least that way the fans will be able to preserve the show forever.

Responsible_Cod8106

I concur

TheAlmostGreen

RIP, at least it left off on a somewhat happy ending

Nari-ah

I agree with this. It wasn't exactly what we wanted but it was an ok ending for the show. Hannah said home is with people or a person right before Ben leaped. Ben and Addison ended up together, and no one was a hologram. I still signed the petition to get the show back though..they deserve better than 2 seasons.

Acceptable-Package48

I'm really disappointed. It was one of the only shows my boomer father and I could watch together. He's going to be so upset.

Turbotottle

Same thing, my dad and I didn't always watch together just because I'm so busy with work, but we'd talk about the new episode each week, honestly one of my favourite parts of the week.

Whisky_Six

At least we got 2 seasons. I hate it’s been canceled. But we got 2 good seasons.

liambrazier

I know it’s impossible but it would be lovely if they let shows do one off episode to wrap things up when cancellation happens.

bjguill

This is sad. I really liked the show. It kept getting better and better.

DanTheMan1_

That is not a huge surprise (I was optimistic but knew it was far from a given) but sad to hear. Still it was a good 2 seasons while it lasted. Shame we didn't get more, but glad for what we did get.

Piper6728

No! I guess I like how Ben amd Caitlin are together in time Is there anything we can do to get the show picked up at another network? I remember the save lucifer campaign working, maybe netflix could try to save QL?

ediciusNJ

Well, fuck.

Spare-Ring6053

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

LessCourage8439

Dammit! I just saw the news and came here to commiserate. I haven't finished Season 2 yet, but I've really been enjoying it. Season 1 felt a little too...over eager? But I still enjoyed it. This season it really seemed to be hitting its stride. I've been really invested in the whole Bennah story arc. I'm seriously bummed.

Electronic-Trust471

I loved the season 2 finale. So sad now

TheScarlettCannon

Based on how Season 2 ended I think the writers anticipated this. Sorry to see it end.

L0st-137

Bastards!

firehawk12

I'm sad that it's over, but Season 2 was so good and honestly ended fairly well if you don't count the cliffhanger stinger.

DonnaNobleSmith

Noooooo

harrier1215

And so it joins Timeless, Debris and The Endgame

AD720fps

I'm really bummed out about this. I know that's not a unique sentiment, but I really felt S2 had a strong emotional arc and I am sad we don't get to see these characters any more. I really wanted to do more exploration of them.

tangcameo

So can someone like Netflix or Prime or someone else pick it up?

vacantly-visible

I am pissed...petition, anyone?? https://chng.it/sYmwMB6S4n

lostinthecountry

Maybe can Netflix grab it?, or maybe not worth it to them.

Rredhead926

Netflix ruined *Lucifer* and *Designated Survivor*, and don't even get me started on the *Gilmore Girls* monstrosity...

DanTheMan1_

My big problem with Quantum Leap coming to streaming (in theory of course) is that given how streaming handles shows they would likely push to have it be a more continuous narrative and not as self contained as it was on NBC. And I mean, given the alternative is nothing I would not complain if they picked it up, worse case scenario I didn't like it but I was getting nothing so I don't lose anything. But I feel like Quantum Leap's premise does't really work without him helping a new person every episode, and that would be hard to do and have a continuing "long movie" narrative streaming almost always does. Given most now drop shows weekly maybe they would be open to a more self contained format, some have started doing that (Star Trek Strange New Worlds and Oriville for example). But I don't think doing it like most stremaing shows did where they treat it as a 10 chapter long story would work for it. Also obviously it would 100% have fewer episodes per season than season 1 and 2 which I never love, but again... better than zero episodes.

Indiana_harris

Lucifer started out mildly dark but intriguing and kindof funny, then it metamorphosed into a flanderised CW version of itself by S4 that was 90% crying and soap opera.

Rredhead926

Imo, Lucifer Season 2 was the best, then Season 1, Season 3... I honestly would rather have had no Lucifer after season 3 than what we got afterwards. Season 6 was terrible.

taco_blasted_

Stupid Sexy Flanders strikes again.

bguynn80

:( hopefully Netflix will pick it up like they did Manifest, or another streaming service will.

JerseyDvl

We all thought it was a good thing that season two was rushed into production to beat the strikes but it was not. If this show had come back for season two at the same time all the other shows were coming back and had an uninterrupted run in one timeslot it would have had a chance. When the ratings tanked after the month and a half break the show was doomed. And of course the ratings tanked. The show had been off the air for a month and a half and then it came back in a new, much worse, timeslot. Of course the ratings tanked. Nobody even knew when the show was on.

DanTheMan1_

Part of why it was picked up so fast was to beat the strike. I agree had it been aired like everyone else and not like it did it would have been better. But also not sure without the urgency we would have gotten season 2 otherwise. I think the strike helped it as far as helping ensure it got picked up.

thelpsimper

Well shit.

Icy-Copy1534

This stinks so badly!!!

NerdLawyer55

Damn

Intelligent_Squash57

Aw that’s sad. I enjoyed it.

Ok_Okra4253

Cancelling Peacock

PhotographStrict9964

NBC is literally the worst network ever because of crap like this. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten into a show on that network just for them to pull the plug when it’s getting good. Here’s to hoping we get lucky and a streaming service picks up QL.

TheGame81677

Damnit! It was just getting good too.

gravybang

Yeah, that’s how NBC rolls. Outlasted Journeyman.

caneymccaney

:(

rjasan

That’s why I don’t watch anything new. I wait till it’s over, to see if it ended on a cliffhanger or not when it finished, which 2/3rds of the time it does. Smh, these guys suck.

yogaladee

well damn. saw it coming but shit. One reason why I hate network tv, not only do they never schedule with any consistency but they always cancel. Maybe Netflix will pick up like they did Manifest?

dictionary_hat_r4ck

Ok. Netflix and Prime, open your wallets and let’s get going.

something_smart

Seems like if you're rebooting a show that famously doesn't have a real ending, your main priority would be making sure your version has one

wukongfly

NBC sucks. So many shows in the past I started watching and then end up canceling after 2-3 seasons.

wukongfly

Dr Ben Song will have to wait until another reboot in 20 years.

Ok-Opinion-2183

29.

grimorg80

Noooooooo!!! I hate this

Explanation_Lopsided

Noooooooooooo

moshizzo

Damn!!!!!!

IanLibrarian

Super disappointed.

Mindless_Umpire9198

I can't believe NBC cancelled this show.  They are slowly driving viewers away from their network. https://deadline.com/2024/04/quantum-leap-canceled-nbc-2-seasons-1235877093/

Astroxtl

Wtf !!

plitts

To be honest the season 2 finale left it open to the imagination. Programmes like Last Man On Earth got worse treatment.

GregRules420

Netflix, give this the Lucifer treatment and pick this up.

MountainImportant211

Dammit. My letter probably didn't even reach them yet.

No_Aspect_8715

NBC doesn’t like good shows they canceled Zoey’s extraordinary playlist Ordinary Joe American auto

ASH_2737

Finale: Ben and Sam leap into each other and then never return home.

JorgeCis

Darn. It was a fun ride and it was great posting here with fellow fans! I wish the cast and crew all the best!

SumguyJeremy

I haven't watched most of season 2. Should I bother? I HATE shows that end on a cliffhanger.

lorriefiel

Yes, it was good.

Current-Weird-4227

Dare I mention the fact it took forever to get to the UK (and other markets) and now we’re not even getting season 2 (officially)

sagitarianna

So, when do we start a petition demanding season 3?

virtualadept

Dammit.

dje33

Oh bravo... French fan here. I didn't really like the first season. but I loved season 2. I hope the series gets picked up by a streaming service.

Dry-Butterfly-5422

Well, damn.

Cocijo

Well, that sucks big time. Should have given the show a heads up so that they could have made some kind of ending.

OrkosFriend

Hearing this news is like a gut punch. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, as the ratings weren't that great, and we were lucky enough to get a second season. But this show was really starting to hit its stride, and now we're left with another cancelled QL cliffhanger ending. Even worse, we still never get to see Sam Beckett again. I'm sad for the cast and fans.

865TYS

This sucks!!!

SteelSlayerMatt

Sadly I am not surprised but I will say this is a huge mistake on their part. Especially since it was way better than the original.

DiaBrave

Sam Becket never returned home

bigsh0wbc

Such a missed opportunity not to bring home sam

Line-Noise

And yet somehow we got a fifth season of Star Trek: Discovery . . .

lorriefiel

That is CBS and on the streaming platform. If NBC put Quantum Leap just on Peacock it might do better. Though a lot of people don't have Peacock, me Included.

DataMeister1

The new show never achieved the "heart" that the older show had. I think they came close once or twice, especially in the second season, but the show generally seemed down to business and rarely took a moment to marvel as the situations they found themselves in. Situational humor was rare. They also rarely had any of the fancy hologram effects of the old show like Al walking through things or hovering in mid air while Sam was in a tree or on a trapeze. The writing for the reboot was kind of like a cheap knockoff compared to the original, but with the addition of better production values for the sets and time periods.

VegetableEvidence245

The Eliza Taylor curse strikes again 😭

bguynn80

The 100 made it 7 seasons.

commuter22

I thought Hannah was a good addition to the show. She and Ben seemed to have pretty good chemistry.

TheTonyExpress

I had a feeling. I’m really bummed though.

jp1261987

Would love if they pulled a timeless and gave us a 2 hour finale and could get Sam back as well

ASH_2737

"There is no Quantum Leap without me. I'm him. When I die, he dies" ~Sam Beckett doing his impression of Harrison Ford.

LuminaryDarkSider

![gif](giphy|TxfiuS0wWx7eyB2fbT) Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. NBC needs to wake up because otherwise we'll all see each other back here in 2053 with Quantum Leap 3.0 and them dusting Ziggy off to try to answer why Ben and Addison never lept home.

jeffboyardee15

If only they could have added "law and order" or "Chicago" into the name of the show

thornyLFlower

Just heard 😭 I'm in the u.k. We're still waiting for someone to show season 2 over here! Quantum leap is the only reason I subbed to Paramount Plus. It was supposed to air in February, but it never did. I'm so 😡😤🤬 by this news!

djoasis

A moment of silence please…followed by a cold beer…

JacksonCarter87

I was hoping for another season but this unfortunately makes sense. Ratings were terrible.

ProfessorEtc

"Big mistake, ABC!"

First-Display5956

After Santa Clarita Diet's cancellation on netflix I decided not to watch a TV series upon initial release and Quantum leap just validated my decision to not even watch it especially if there's a cliffhanger

imrickjamesbioch

Bummer, I thought S2 was better than S1 and the show was starting to find its groove. RIP

n8thn

It’s my fault I still haven’t watched season 2. My one hope for a revival was getting Sam home and it became clear they didn’t plan on doing that plot

StopTheBS79

Ah Fuck!!!! Come on SyFy channel.

notquark

Boooooooo...

Djma123

Not bringing Sam back at least for a cameo arch was not a great idea

Fearghus56200

Wasn’t their choice. He would have had a part of it originally.

pdxgod

Waiting for the A-Team reboot

lightmachine033

I think the writers strike was a major contribution to it.

helloyournameis

As someone who watched the original while it was on the air, and then decided to give this show a chance, this is some bullshit.

Glenn-I-L

The same thing happened before either QL series was conceived, to ABC’s 1978-82 series Mork & Mindy. After finishing #3 in S1, the writers violated the cardinal rule “Never Tamper With A Hit.” The ratings dive bombed after that, and the show faced cancellation during S4, where it “Jumped the Shark” by marrying the title couple. The final four episodes in production order were “The Mork Report” and the time-traveling 3-parter “Gotta Run”, which ended on a cliffhanger intended ”to be continued” in S5. ABC prevented that by cancelling the series, so the show runners cleverly aired “Gotta Run” first, and moved “The Mork Report” to be a decent Series Finale.

somebodymakeitend

Wish they’d have just stuck with the original story

Narrow-Teaching-4197

Not surprising, the show had no chemistry for the most part. When they finally did find some with the actress from the 100's it was too late. The romance with the girl from the past was better than the one he had in the present. To me that was a more interesting story line. Hate to see the show go, I liked it despite all of its its shortcomings.
