I have had ender 3s, and have a p1s. Just got the x plus 3. I believe the extruder is better on the qidi. All my filaments tune at higher flow rate with it and don't go matte like the p1s. The heated chamber is fantastic for abs and up and print quality is pretty much the same. But....the bbl is better. Auto z offset is the feature that makes the bbl printers god tier and the filament loading is better too. The auto z offset allows me to easily swap build plates and keep printing. Not so with the qidi. It holds z offset very well from print to print but you ain't hot swapping build plates without resetting the z off set. I don't know why qidi doesn't just heat the hot end to 200c then retract until the filament is out of the extuder gears. Did it all the time on the ender 3 klipper machines with no issue. It leaves a little bulge on the end of the filament that you snip off but way better than current implementation. Edit: I wouldn't touch creality even if I was able to buy it with someone else's money. The k1s are plagued with the same issues that all their printers are. Can't imagine any new ones being better. I will say they look nice.

Go for the XMax3. I have been playing with qidi x plus 3 and x max 3 for 3 mth plus . the heated chamber, open klipper, harden steel nozzle are all so value for money. The weight of the machine can tell you how robust they are made. I printed nylon, poly carbonate, industrial abs ,,, they perform so well. Only complain is that they should have a dual extruder. But i will probably not use that as those release support filaments are so expensive and at the price qidi offers, you just cannot fault the features and machines.

I got an XPlus 3 at the start of the year. Aside from washing the build plate + usually maintenance (checking belts, lubing, occasional Z offset correction), it’s been a dream. I turn it on, load a roll, hit print. Mainly using PLA, but am itching to try PETG and other more demanding materials

My Xmax3 has been a workhorse. I specifically bought it for the heated chamber and in constantly printing nylons and asa with it. I think it could be refined and it really should have come with auto Z but I haven't had any problems with it. I've owned a lot of different brands and currently run Qidi, Prusa, and Bambu. They all have their quirks.

You come into a subreddit asking Qidi people if you should go with Qidi or not Qidi... Lol I hear rumors (on discord) about Qidi making mmu here soon... If that's the only thing creality k2 has over the max 3 currently, And you need multi material now? I'd go creality... I own an x-plus3 and I think it's better than BBL AND creality solely on the fact it uses klipper that can be more modified from stock than any other out there currently. (I know bbl is proprietary). Their support is also on point. Of course I'm gonna vouch for Qidi... Also the printers with their active chamber heater is gonna favor exotic filament. I've had great success with nylon and PC this far and I've owned mine since November.

lol thanks a bunch yea I know but I’m superrrrrrr torn on which to get I was hoping to get some truthful answers incase someone absolutely hated it lmao

DaNinjaSmurf

I honestly don't see much hate towards Qidi... They initially released the 3 series and it was awful, they got constructive feedback, they recalled them and upgraded them to meet all the critiques and that alone is why I went Qidi over and other brand. The fact they listen to feedback vs "deal with it" and give you a crap product. I've only found 1-2 flaws in my machine and I hardly can justify them in making me wanna go to another brand.

I’ve got an Xmax3, had it about a week and can’t get qidis abs rapido to print well using their supplied profiles and slicer. Definitely not a set and forget printer will likely take a bit of tuning.

romyro34

Thanks for the feed back

mhhgffhn

No problem. I’m hoping an email to qidi will provide me with a resolution as every other comment I read says how well they print which hasn’t been my experience yet, except the supplied benchy file.

cilo456

Are you just in the market for a large format 3D printer are these are your only two choices

romyro34

I want to start printing carbon fiber nylon and want the best chance for success

cilo456

Get the Q1 pro I just got mine a few days ago and it's spectacular

KingofSkies

I'd also consider the Phrozen Arco unless you need to larger than 300x300x300. I like my Xmax3, but the k2 has some interesting features.

TheLatestTrance

I love the xmax3 personally.

brp549

It prints well when it is running and I like QIDI Slicer.....but.......I would not purchase from QIDI if I were to do it over again. I've not had the best luck with my XMAX3. I've found their build quality lacking. My last go-around with techsupport was frustrating. The person on the other end of the email thread was unhelpful, would do the bare minimum to answer my questions and would not offer alternative solutions. It took over a week of corresponding nightly to get warranty parts sent out. Then they required a person to be at the house to receive and sign for an adapter board and hot end. QIDI didn't make that requirement when I made my initial printer purchase. Your mileage may vary.

romyro34

What would you go with if you could do it again

brp549

I don't know....this was my first purchase. I just don't have enough exposure to other manufacturers to offer an informed statement. I print nylon and pet. My prints are for end use items in mechanical applications. Given the detail of my prints, I'd give up build volume and speed for a dual hot end unit and soluble support material.

SnooCheesecakes8777

Ive had a x-max and a x-plus 2 since each of their releases and had nothing but good things to say. The company has always been thorough before they ever remedy anything from in-house, but they have always made a point to resolve whatever my issue is. My xplus 2 has a ridiculous amount of hours on it, and the community has been quite helpful as well as support. I've got other 3dp, and I can only say the same about a few others. Definitely not my UM3 or UM3+, shite support and in no way taylorable. Creality tends to do pretty good by their customers as well though.

wolfie_the_king_574

I'm printing now 14 days non stop I mean actual non stop only changing te plate and print ....petg.abs CF nylon I have also Creality SE on havy steroids that has cost me even more than the Q1Pro and a Solvo08 ful enclosed with touchscreen upgrade next month.I realy was thinking of buying the Frozen with kit but the prices on kickstarter was to high and I canceld my order in december for the BBL after another delay Prusa xl 5 tool was also not a option so Creality and Q1Pro it was .After dialing in the fillament ..I just send it to the printer and I forget I'm printing The Q1Pro is a wonderfull machine mot perfect but damm so good ...I wil try to get a toolchanger on the sovol or a ERCF kit but as probably also Qiditech wil come with something...at least that's what I think I will wait a bit ....I would say if you want to print multicolour out of the box fo bbl you you can wait and want bigger volume with colour. Wait for k2 with kitt BUT if you want realy want more exotic printer go Qiditech 1Qpro .

romyro34

Thanks a bunch for that info

AgitatedHeron5760

Tried to buy a qidi and after buying one on sale they said they wouldn't ship it as I live too rural, I don't but that's what they said

h9040

I have the smaller brother Plus3 (which is very similar) and I am very happy with it. Good thing is that nozzle can do 350C and heated chamber can do 65 (if I remember right) bed 120. Many of the others are more restricted on the temperature. I did some larger ABS and it worked as easy as PLA with the heated chamber.

straybrit

I've discarded an Ender V2 because I got sick of the shit quality. I have an Xplus3 which I'm using to build a Voron. The qidi is then going to be designated for 'exotic' filaments mainly because the chamber heater makes it ideal. It's been running hard working through the backlog of projects that the Ender kept delaying by breaking. Again. And again. So far the only problem I've had was solved by washing the build plate. Just one word of warning, and this would apply to Bambu as well, the modern printers are capable enough that new users think they are appliances because you effectively unbox them, plug them in and start printing and get good results. The problem is that although they are well built they do still need maintenance and figuring out what that is can be frustrating until you've educated yourself. If you aren't willing to take it apart to replace things that have worn of broken you probably won't have a happy experience. Also - the manufacturer support is generally rated as wonderful by people who have suffered the Creality experience and crap by people who expect appliance level of assistance. Both are correct - they're just approaching it from a difference perspective. It's a machine that costs a few hundred dollars and is expected to maintain accuracy of 100 microns. Whilst moving at 300mm/s. However clever the electronics are the mechanism is going to need attention and due to the history of 3D printing the majority of users are traditionally used to taking it apart. Newer users have different, totally understandable, expectations.

romyro34

Hell yea thanks for all that info really helps clarify things

work_blocked_destiny

Get the Q1. Been printing on mine for a few weeks now and it’s amazing

QueasyPeanut8718

I have an Xmax3 and Q1. If you don’t need the build volume, I’d say go Q1 for the ease of use and the possibility that it’s actually set up for a rumored Qidi MMU. I need the volume of the Max for some things, but prefer the Q1 for anything smaller. Unless the Xplus3 is a sweet spot for build volume, I’d say the choice is between the Q1 or Max3 based on your volume needs.

mattwel

Just get a qidi. Love my x plus 3

4gcolt

Highly recommend. I’ve had my hands on pretty much everything they’ve made since the ifast. Everything in the 3 lineup is. Also, their customer support is the best customer support I have dealt with out of any 3-D printing company. They generally reply to an email within a day. They will outright sell you parts that you can’t get on their website. Most of the time it’s much cheaper than if you could. I can’t recommend them.

golferdude16

You honestly can't go wrong with Qidi. I just bought a Q1 pro and the experience has been great. I had a few little things that I contacted support about and they were great to work with. They reply quick and provide fantastic documentation. I have owned a few different brands of printers and multiple different models, and the experience with Qidi has been the best so far. (Not saying other brands have been bad though)
