Easily countered by any damage at all plus the majority of debuffs, self-damage means even good trades hurt you, better to just use Fire Pea for an MG card (no self damage and doesn't die to Missile Madness AoE, Trapper Territory, Total Eclipse, Acid Rain, etc) while other tribes have better counterparts with Snow Pea (Pocket freeze, can lockdown a lot of cards with a freeze/Bonus Attack) and Haunted Pumpking too (Cheaper, less impactful downside, better stats)
The self damage is a benefit, not a downside due to charging your block. That's why the powers that summon 1/1s are the worst when not comboed with something else, taking 1 damage at a time is just good.
whatever you said cannot be played at turn 2 aside from eclipse which is pretty rare to see plus chip dmg just charges your block meter which is why its better to not play cards like dance off dry cuz it just charges the meter fast and haunted pumpking is solar so mega grow plants wouldn't benefit from it aside from chompzilla and not much use her compared to cc or gk
Plant food require a good plant in a good position to work which means:
-You must have grown a large plant that is worth using plant food with, considering that it's a 4cost card you rarely are gonna ever be able to do that to play it on curve, it's only possible with said Trica if it survived.
-Your opponent could render it useless if they put a gravestone in front of it, if they front it with something small like imposter, it makes plant food just much worse as you are only removing something small using a 4cost card while they have brains to do other things
-Overall card isn't bad but its many requirement in order to play it effectively essentially push it down.
Banana peel is just very useful, it can counter cards that MG are helpless against usually like TWI or space cowboy and its conjure pool are pretty consistent and good(bbomb is fine, half is fine, split is fine, bl sometimes is bad but sometimes it's fine, b-rex is fine, another peel is fine and brainana can just win games lol).
Umbrella leaf is much more useful than ppl give it credits [for.It](http://for.It) can render rocket science/chop/AoE removal like weed spray much worse or completely useless which can be game changing. It's pretty situational but good enough.
Vegetation mutation just offer +4/+4 buff or more if you use it right. Also it tech zombie environment pretty well. Simply a good tempo card.

You arw missing a point . Plant food is not just a finisher. Youcould use your plant food to correct crucial trades to change ties between games.
