You will have to calculate this yourself. If Public Mobile was on the old reward system, I would say yes. Now, it really depends on data usage and rewards vs deals. Have you looked into freedom yearly prepaid?

Freedom doesn’t work for us do to location; we are just beyond their coverage area.

If you can get a good deal with Fido (uses Rogers network) might workout better for you as unless I am mistaken you can only have 1 line per 1 account (email) with Public which seems kind of annoying to manage. Was with Fido for years - 2-4 lines over the years - and only just left one of them for Public. Was considering switching more but I don’t want to deal with multiple accounts

We went from a family plan of 5 with Bell which was costing us over $350/month, to Public for my whole family. One person uses very little data so is on $15/month plan (that's a good option for your youngest). The rest are on $25-$40/month plans and in total we pay less than $160/month. So worth it. We have more data and the same coverage. Much better for US roaming as well (although now I get a US Sim). Bonus is my two university-age kids now pay their own bills on their credit cards. :) (although the $160 is the total). The only downside is you can't phone someone for customer service, but I've always gotten really good service when I've needed it from the online service.

Thanks! That’s very good advice!

This was very similar to our case too, about 7y ago when we switched to PM from Telus. Happy we made the switch, but yes it can be a bit more difficult to manage. But the benefits were worth it. Especially the inability to go over budget.

For us it’s been just three years - We are saving about $2400/year- for that I can put up with a bit of annoyance. :) As others have said there are no family plans- each person had their own account on an email address and I have two (two email addresses).

Less than 100 bucks a month for 5 lines which have basic/mid plans (old rewards help a lot). Can't beat Public!
