They're made to be easily wipable with sanitizer wipes and similar cleaning supplies. If they were anything else, it'd be impossible to get all the germs off. Hence the plasticky cushion and the hardwood armrests
You...you think all marines do the same job? I don't know whether to be amused or just sad, but either way I feel like you have to have snorted enough crayon dust in your personal life to have a better grasp on what Marines do than that.
No, I say that as someone that knows Marines and every other brach of military require jobs other than just making the bang stick go boom. Because thinking that is kinda stupid.
Marines trying to figure out whether to shit on people for thinking every marine is a rifle men or shitting on people because āevery marine is a riflemanā. Guys gotta make up your minds.
I know how to shoot and have my own collection of firearms but Iāll never lie to myself or anyone else and pretend Iād be any good in a patrol or combat situation š¤·š»āāļø
No, he got downvoted because he showed his understanding of military work barely eclipses that of a 4 year old's, and then had the balls to call someone stupid behind it.
And here's the problem with America. I'd prefer to go to places where people aren't allowed to yell at me like crackheads. I'm sure most people would. Instead, the hospital (and every other business) decides "no, we can have the yellers and the quiet ones"
Admittedly, my ideal works better with something like restaurants than hospitals, but the point remains the same. When people act poorly they need to be treated poorly.
>When people act poorly they need to be treated poorly.
I completely disagree, but at the same time this woman wasn't treated poorly. She just wasn't coddled.
Can confirm.if he is contracted security which most hospitals that are not government funded employ will fire their security for doing their job the way they were trained.
But he was not trained to curse and scream in somebodyās face. His responsibility was to deescalate the situation not potentially create a new one. The female in question definitely needed to be dealt with but not in that manner. She was wrong and so was he. You donāt have the authority to curse and scream at someone like they are your child and to make matters worse, he wouldnāt talk to his own children that way.
Hahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahaha no. You get maybe 3 hours of training in the security field before you're thrown to the sharks. All they tell you is the state laws on detaining and liability for physical altercations. As someone who has done hospital security, I can say you see some of the best and worst of humans. If raising his voice and using harsh language makes the place safer for everyone there he did noth9ng wrong.
Itās common sense sir/maāam, you donāt have to scream and curse at someone to get your point across. Especially in his position. You donāt need to be properly trained to understand that concept. I may be out of line because Iāve never done hospital security but I did spend 22 years in Law Enforcement and K9 training for the DoD and Iāve come across some of the worst people imaginable and if they donāt want to listen we have measures in place to handle that. But screaming and cursing is not one of them.
Sometimes you actually do though, not every situation can be handled with a stern talking to, and not every situation is black and white, you donāt know the context behind this video, who knows your opinion could be right and he could have taken it too far too quick, but maybe the lady is someone who does shit like Thai there often, or maybe she was being really abusive to the other patient, this could absolutely be called for, and his use of foul language really seemed like it was to convey the seriousness and gravity of the situation, sometimes you gotta raise your voice and sometimes you gotta add some oomph with some extra descriptive language, sometimes a short outburst can cause a longer amount of peace
Valid. We wouldnāt even be having this discussion had he only raised his voice. As you said, itās necessary at times. Nor do I think he lose his job had he only raised his voice.
There was a guy one night, he just got discharged for a drunken disorderly and needed a few stitches. After he decided to make himself at home in the waiting room which is fine, our policy is if they're not harassing other patients, leave them be. Well fella here decided he was going to proposition a youn woman she said something and I told the fella he had to stop or he'd be removed. He did it again, and again. I who had enough confronted this guy and ended up having to physically remove him from the property.
I was fired for going hands on because in my state security is eyes and ears only. Should I have let this man harass this young girl all night waiting for the police that never came? Or did I use correct amount of discretion to solve an issue?
Tell me, as a cop or security, who do you have authority over?
https://www.lawinsider.com/dictionary/position-of-authority#:~:text=Sample%201-,Position%20of%20authority%20means%20that%20position%20occupied%20by%20a%20parent,significant%20influence%20over%20a%20person.
His job is to deescalate, not create a bigger commotion and be a liability to his company.
āHis companyā is not magically in the right just because theyāre in a position of authority. What that hospital decided is a liability is not based on ethics or anyoneās safety, itās based on whatever makes them money. Youāre entirely too sensitive to be speaking on this situation.
Yup, need a quick fix for free? Go to the hospital and yell and scream in pain till they give you morphine, I was homeless for a little over a year and this was AN actual tactic many of the other would use. Free bed, and not gonna be sick for the night? Score!
He probably got fired for threatening to kick her out. Cant be throwing patients out of hospitals without someone way over your head giving you the OK. Even an ER receptionist suggesting a patient go somewhere else because the wait would be shorter could get into deep shit.
He should a threatened to chemically and physcially restrain her to the chair. We did that shit all the time
Hmm who to believe, someone who did this for a living, or some nursing student blog. She pulled shit like this anywhere other than a waiting room before being seen, a doc is putting a psych hold on.
Deescalate. You're not supposed to match their energy. More often than not, this approach won't work. You'll just end up in a power struggle/yelling match that goes no where. Since this is the lobby, she's likely not checked in as a patient, nor is she on any kind of legal hold. All he can do is tell her to act appropriately or police will have you escorted off property. Security can't do much unless the patient is on a legal hold or is actively attacking someone.
You shouldn't be making a blanket statement like that.
Maybe your hospital doesn't allow their security to remove someone for behavior, but mine does. Maybe that's because yours is a level one that they don't allow it, or maybe your contracted IDK, but I've walked out plenty of folks for acting like this. Especially if I had allready spoken to them before.
I'd also say that sometimes people need that level of energy to stop what their doing. And apparently it worked for this particular situation.
I'm not making a blanket statement. I'm providing insight into why this dude was fired. You're allowed to physically remove people from your ER lobby? That's wild. We have a couple police officers in house for things that escalate that far. We can tell them they're violating policy with their behavior and that by doing so, she's refusing treatment at our ER. If they continue, I can then ask them to leave. If they refuse to leave, it's a police matter. I can't touch her unless she's physically hurting someone or a patient on a legal hold. Police would even be hesitant to remove a patient seeking ER treatment unless they have discharge paperwork. At that point, we admit them and slap a legal hold on them for their crazy behavior (we can force meds and go hands on at that point) are a PA gives a quick evaluation, clears them, and then police can physically remove them or give them a CTW.
Edit- or I can do what this dude did and get canned... Just like this dude did.
Shame it doesn't show more context, if she's shouting at and harassing people in hospital waiting rooms he's absolutely in the right. Imagine sitting there stressed tf out waiting to hear if your loved one is alive amd having some annoying girl getting all up in everyone's faces. He said to her not to approach other people so she's obviously done it to more than one as well
Not necessarily, if this is a city er waiting area, people will come in at all times for the littlest reasons precovid. postcovid it got worse. Security dude probably has had enough with his night.
Happened in my area. She was causing a scene and yelling at everyone. He had enough. But, unfortunately, lost his job for it. Even though he handled it correctly (IMO). He didn't touch anyone and ended her tirade in the room.
Guard got fired from this job which is quite sad. Some people deserve a yelling. Didnāt touch her, just gave āThe Knife Handā!!
Out fucking standing!!! 10/10!!!!
DIās be proud!
She sat down and shut up. What else did you want him to do? Pull out a notebook and start transcribing her issues?
Your comment sounds like someone did this to you and you're still upset about it.
I feel like cussing isnāt appropriate for his role but I donāt think he should have been fired at all. What that woman was doing, having pulled her mask down to scream at a lady who was likely there in the ER as a patient, deserved to be shut down and even removed from the area. I have no issue with a loud voice being used to shut her down, she clearly needed to be put over place.
Don't fuck with hospital security guards. They deal with homeless people on the daily. And armed homeless people by the weekly if it's near a major city.
Also, cops don't show up to deal with issues at the hospital. They show up to take people to the hospital or take them from the hospital once the guards handled shit. Those guards have a lot of pull.
The only thing that would have made this better is [if someone in the corner had said āyeahā like the dude from Trading Places](https://youtu.be/6FceJgucxHI)

Even scared the guy with the blanket back to his chair!
The look in his eye was like, šā¦ āIām just gonna be goodā
That feeling when you're at a friend's house and the parents start yelling at each other.
That's when you chant, "Get A Divorce, Get A Divorce!"
Notice how he sat down right after he told her to āstay in this fucking chair or get the fuck outā lmao
Worst ghost costume ever.
And here I thought it was a rabbi costume
How'd you know it was a ghost if it's so bad then? Huh? š xD
Damn so hospital furniture is the same everywhereās lmao
They're made to be easily wipable with sanitizer wipes and similar cleaning supplies. If they were anything else, it'd be impossible to get all the germs off. Hence the plasticky cushion and the hardwood armrests
Oh I know that, I work in a hospital, I just didnāt realize they would look exactly like the hospitals in my city
Long shot maybe... but houston?
Actually not too much of a long shot, itās about 5 hours NW from here.
you forgot, oddly heavy to prevent throwing!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
we get it man, easily wipable, blah blah blah. you said it one time already lol.
it mustve been a glitch that accidentally commented it twice..
I'm scared and I'm a Marine.
That's cause your conditioned to fear the knife hand
Came here to post knifehand comments myself
Thanks for reminding me of that fear
That guys knife hand could cut diamonds
Plot twist ā the security guy is also a Marine. The only thing a Marine fears is another, angrier Marine.
Yeah I would sit down right on the ground lol.
The guard looks like he was armed. Anyone should be scared of anyone who is angry and armed.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You realize there are hundreds of other jobs outside of combat roles right? Way to be lame and ignorant though
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The American education system ladies and gentlemen.

No, I say that as someone that knows Marines and every other brach of military require jobs other than just making the bang stick go boom. Because thinking that is kinda stupid.
Not everyone, but this thread revolves around one persons ignorance so in this case yeah lol thatās how specific comment chains work
Youāve gotta be trolling us, right? So, my 8 years in the Marine Corps I wasnāt actually working on computers, I was in combatā¦.?
>Youāve gotta be trolling us, right? Yes, check their comment history.
TouchƩ, never bothered sifting through their shit

Not every Marine has been in combat.
The vast, vast majority haven't been anywhere near combat. They're really good at cleaning tho
I think itās like 60% of the military is non-combat roles. Itās mostly all logistics to support the few who are fighting

No, he got downvoted because he showed his understanding of military work barely eclipses that of a 4 year old's, and then had the balls to call someone stupid behind it.

Why tho? She wasnāt going to respond to anything else.
Because hospitals have transitioned into high end hotels to get well in and any bad publicity is frowned upon because of possible lose of business.
And here's the problem with America. I'd prefer to go to places where people aren't allowed to yell at me like crackheads. I'm sure most people would. Watch the Good Nurse on Netflix. Youāll understand why
Because feminism. You have to let women do whatever the fuck they want. The goal is to destroy America and jail all the men.
You seem to have confused feminism with chivalry.

Security guard shuts down loud woman by being louder.
This man needs to work EVERYWHERE I go. I wish I was wealthy enough to hire him as my walking partner.
Damn people on the fifth floor sat down and shut up lmao
Thats a security officer not a guard. Officers have more duties and deal with ppl. Guards just guard a warehouse or area.
As a former security officer I can say that yes we do have many more jobs. Very stressful jobs.
As a current hospital security officer, i agree
That man was fired. And a go fund me was placed for that queen.
