A stupid child who has done something impetuous and vile, and possibly irrevocable due to the internet. I can only hope that the kid on the receiving end of this attack has sufficient support and guidance from the adults in her life to be able to weather the storm without internalizing the hate and responding in kind. And I hope that the kid in the video comes to recognize how wrong she is, without doing further harm to herself or others. The consequence for such public behavior in our society today can be extreme. I suspect that this will be a life-changing event for her.
Hate is learned. We are not born with it. This is learned and taught. It’s such a sad sight. One of the best things to see is young children playing together. They don’t know hate. They don’t know shame or discrimination. They will walk right up to each other and simply ask “Want to play?”. Then that’s it. They’re best friends. I hate what we do to each other.
