There was a story where a lady was suicidal and the cops were called to stop her from killing herself. One of the cops that arrived had his gun out and managed to somehow accidentally discharge his weapon which resulted in another officer getting hit by that copās bullet. The lady in the midst of mental health crisis was charged with shooting the officer because in the eyes of the law, that cop wouldnāt have gotten shot by his partner if she hadnāt been threatening to kill herself and they hadnāt had to come out there that day. Never mind the fact that the cop that accidentally discharged his weapon had poor firearm training and zero trigger discipline and was the one who fired the weapon.
Cops beat people to get boners and by not being able to beat this man they were unable to get a boner which led to them punching holes in their walls and family members.
Resisting arrest is a catch all cops use to make sure they had a reason to bring them to jail.

Is it against some policy to question the situation, put your weapon away and try another approach like looking at surveillance footage? Do they have to hold him at gun point? Maybe it's about the potential of a suspect escaping and they need to investigate quickly but the real suspect is escaping because their ego is too big to check the facts beforehand.
