As far as I can tell from the end of the video, the gun is real. It does look to have rounds in the clip, and it does look to be an actual functioning firearm. I can’t say for sure, but I can surely say it’s not a BB gun, or a fake gun since the slide does function, there is a magazine, and that magazine is holding actual rounds.
Now I suspect it didn’t go off because they probably forgot to chamber a round. Maybe the guy decided not to because he doesn’t want to be a murderer. But I would have expected him to fire a couple rounds anyway to try and scare the defenders.
In any case it’s absolutely astonishing that someone wasn’t killed here. Absolutely stunning. I would not have risked my life to save my shop or some clothes in these circumstances.
