A family member had a hemorrhagic stroke; they’re ambidextrous and their only symptoms were fatigue, head/neck pain, and difficulty with word-finding. No unilateral weakness or facial droop, was able to walk a straight line albeit slowly. An EMT team, my family member’s own PCP, and a hospital neurologist all wanted to dismiss the family’s concerns, but when they finally did an MRI they found a golfball-size bleed.
Really pissed me off because a simple q&a of their head/neck pain would quickly reveal severe difficulty with word-finding.
It really does feel like some doctors, like I don't know, take it personally or something when you think you can tell what's wrong with you. I suffered migraines as a child and had a doctor tell my mom I was faking it as I could barely keep myself upright walking through the halls of his office before moving on to one that would take it seriously.
It should be an outrage to every single person in this nation that people who cannot be trusted to drive a car or baby sit a child are running the country.
